Description
An update on changes to summer programming due to COVID-19, where to find COVID statistics specific to Bloomington residents and a look inside safety measures put in place at Mall of America.
A
Welcome
to
Bloomington
today
I'm
Emily
Taplin
thanks
for
joining
us,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
July
1st
through
the
7th.
Are
you
registered
to
vote?
The
state
primary
election
is
August
11th
and
the
deadline
to
register
is
July
21st
if
you're
a
new
voter
or
have
a
name
or
address
change
to
make.
You
can
pre-register
at
BLM
MN
/
register
this.
B
Pre-Registration
process
has
so
many
benefits.
First,
the
election
judges
can
find
your
name
easily.
Second,
the
check-in
process
goes
very
quickly,
thereby
limiting
how
much
time
you
spend
in
the
voting
room.
Another
option
is
for
voters
to
check
their
pre-registration
status
on
the
Minnesota
Secretary
of
State's
website
before
you
go
to
vote.
If.
A
You
would
like
to
request
a
paper
copy
of
the
application
contact
the
city
at
the
number
on
your
screen.
Through
the
pandemic,
the
Parks
and
Recreation
staff
have
had
to
make
some
difficult
decisions
about
summer
programming
summer
fete
and
arts
in
the
park
have
been
cancelled.
For
this
year.
The
city
had
hoped
to
reschedule
summer
fete
to
sometime
in
September,
but
because
of
the
nearly
40,000
people
it
typically
draws
decided.
There
isn't
a
way
to
hold
it
safely.
Adult
summer
sports
have
also
been
canceled.
A
If
the
state
can
provide
safety
guidelines,
the
city
hopes
to
have
adult
sports
for
the
fall
season.
Some
good
news,
the
city
is
preparing
for
youth
games
and
practices.
This
summer
fields
are
being
prepped
in
youth.
Athletic
associations
will
be
able
to
start
games
after
July
6th
did
you
know
the
city
has
AK
Ovid
19
data
tracker
specific
to
Bloomington.
It
lists
the
number
of
cases
in
the
city
deaths
and
a
number
of
other
statistics.
A
As
of
the
first
week
of
July,
Bloomington
has
had
about
700
cases
to
see
the
most
up-to-date
information
head
to
BLM
MN,
slash
Cova
data
along
with
a
number
of
other
Bloomington
restaurants
and
businesses.
The
Mall
of
America
is
open
again.
If
you
haven't
been
already
here,
is
a
look
at
what
is
different.
The
mall
is
only
allowing
50
%
capacity.
All
mall
employees
will
be
wearing
masks
and
there
is
also
signage
to
help
guide.
A
You
on
your
way
and
the
mall
ask
that
you
check
your
temp
before
you
visit
and
that
you
practice
proper
hand-washing
and,
while
they're
not
required,
the
mall
strongly
encourages
everyone
who
comes
to
wear
masks
for
those
who
aren't
ready
for
in-person
visits.
The
mall
is
also
doing
curbside
pickup
visit
the
malls
website
for
all
of
the
details
before
your
next
trip.
A
That
is
the
buzz
on
Bloomington
today
for
the
week
of
July
1st
through
the
7th.
If
you
would
like
to
watch
other
stories
from
the
show
go
to
this
week's
playlist,
there
you'll
find
the
city
hosts
the
Red
Cross
blood
drive
will
take
you.
There
Plus
meet
a
city
employee
who
was
recognized
with
an
award
for
his
outstanding
work,
thanks
for
watching.
