Description
What you need to know about the ranked choice voting ballot question, a distribution event provides masks for Bloomington businesses and see images from an ongoing Bloomington mask campaign.
A
B
Rank
choice:
voting
is,
as
its
name
suggests,
a
way
of
electing
individuals
by
ranking
your
choices.
So,
instead
of
voting
for
a
single
candidate
for
an
office,
you
would
vote
and
indicate.
This
is
my
first
choice.
This
is
my
second
choice.
This
is
my
third
choice,
etc
and
then
to
count
the
ballots.
B
If
no
candidate
gets
a
majority
of
the
votes
through
the
first
choice,
ballots
being
counted,
they
eliminate
the
candidate
that
receives
the
least
number
of
votes
and
those
people
that
had
voted
for
the
eliminated
candidate
as
their
first
choice
then
have
their
second
choice.
Counted.
That
process
just
repeats
until
one
candidate
receives
a
majority,
and
then
that
person
is
elected.
A
A
Voters
will
also
be
able
to
decide
the
future
of
organized
residential,
solid
waste
collection
on
the
november
ballot.
The
ballot
questions
and
faqs
are
available
on
our
website.

garbage
bloomington
businesses
have
already
masked
up
and
now
they're
stocked
up
on
august,
13th
and
14th
local
businesses
were
able
to
stop
by
creekside
community
center
to
pick
up
mask
supplies.
This
distribution
was
part
of
a
statewide
partnership
with
the
minnesota
department
of
employment
and
economic
development
and
local
chambers
of
commerce
to
connect
businesses
with
the
resources
they
need
to
keep
things
safe.
C
C
We
found
that
some
businesses
have
had
a
difficult
time,
procuring
them
and
then
also
there's
the
ability
for
businesses
to
be
able
to
to
have
a
policy
that
they
that
they
don't
feel
independent,
they're
supported
by
larger
the
state
and
and
the
chamber
and
others,
and
so
we're
part
of
that
initiative.
A
The
bloomington
chamber
was
allotted
150
000
masks
to
distribute
to
local
businesses.
If
your
business
is
still
in
need
of
one,
you
can
contact
the
bloomington
chamber
at
the
number
listed
on
your
screen
mask
up
bloomington.
The
city
is
encouraging
residents
to
wear
masks
in
an
ongoing
social
media
campaign
featuring
some
of
our
favorite
bloomington
landmarks,
like
the
convergence
sculpture
in
south
loop.
The
governor's
order
requiring
all
minnesotans
to
wear
face
coverings
inside
public
spaces
went
into
effect
july
25th.
A
That
is
the
buzz
on
bloomington
today
for
the
week
of
august
19th
through
the
25th.
If
