Description
Encouraging words from Public Health as life continues during a pandemic, COVID-19 resources and an update about Camp Kota 2021.
A
Welcome
to
bloomington
today,
I'm
emily
taplin
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
february
17th
through
the
23rd
each
month,
acting
public
health
administrator,
dr
nick
kelly,
shares
a
coven
19
update
with
the
city
council.
Here's
a
portion
of
his
february
address
to
council,
with
some
words
of
understanding,
encouragement
and
hope.
B
I
continue
to
talk
with
people
who
are
tired
of
dealing
with
this
pandemic.
They
are
frustrated
with
the
pandemic
and
want
to
return
to
the
way
things
were
before
we
knew
what
kobit
was.
I
remind
them
that
I
feel
the
same
way,
but
the
reality
is
this:
is
our
new
normal,
I'm
frustrated,
angry,
sad,
dismayed
and
exhausted.
B
B
One
of
the
reasons
the
response
is
constantly
evolving
is
it
improves
with
the
science
the
virus
infecting
our
neighbors
is
always
looking
for
the
opportunity
to
infect
more
when
we
let
our
guard
down.
I
look
forward
to
the
day
when
I
can
tell
you
that
we've
successfully
controlled
kobed19,
but
that's
months
from
now.
This
is
a
marathon,
not
a
sprint.
You've
heard
me
mention
dr
mike
ryan
who's,
leading
the
covet
19
response
for
the
world
health
organization
and
his
approach
to
dealing
with
kovac
19,
and
I
encourage
everybody
to
follow
his
guidance.
B
He
asks
himself
three
simple
questions
on
his
daily
routine.
What
can
I
do
to
avoid
getting
covet
19?
How
can
I
avoid
unintentionally
spreading
kovid
19,
and
what
can
I
do
to
be
kind?
This
is
how
we
live
with
covet
19.
We
make
conscious
choices
daily
to
protect
ourselves
our
community
and
show
kindness.

A
A
Did

know
the
city
has
a
coven
19
data
tracker
specific
to
bloomington.
It
lists
the
number
of
cases
in
the
city
deaths
and
a
number
of
other
statistics
to
see
the
most
up-to-date
information
head
to
blm.mn
covet
data
due
to
the
uncertainty
of
kovid
19.
The
city
has
made
the
difficult
decision
to
cancel
camp
coda
for
this
summer.
The
decision
was
based
on
a
wide
variety
of
factors,
including
the
inability
to
safely
replicate
camp
code.
Experiences
like
the
overnight
camp
out
the
parent
program
and
water-based
activities.
A
Staff
are
working
to
incorporate
outdoor
recreation
activities
into
existing
programs
and
create
new
outdoor
recreation
experiences
throughout
the
summer
parks
and
recreation.
Look
forward
to
camp
coda
returning
next
summer
