A
Welcome
to
bloomington
today,
I'm
emily
taplin
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
july
14th
through
the
20th
60
million
dollars
was
recently
awarded
to
the
494
airport
to
highway
169
project
by
the
u.s
department
of
transportation.
A
few
years
ago,
the
state
awarded
200
million
dollars
to
the
project.
The
city
played
a
large
role
in
securing
the
initial
funding
and
has
continued
to
work
to
secure
additional
funds
to
ensure
the
project
is
done
correctly.
A
As
mayor
tim
busey
talked
about
in
a
recent
council
minute,
494
is
a
regional
highway
and
on
any
given
work
day
is
represented
by
vehicles
from
86
of
the
state's
87
counties.
The
first
phase
of
the
multi-year
project
is
slated
to
begin
in
spring
2023
summer
in
minnesota
means
road
construction,
including
projects
from
the
city's
pavement
management
program
or
pmp
in
the
neighborhood
just
west
of
penn
avenue
between
82nd
and
84th
streets.
The
city
is
working
on
a
project
that
involves
street
reconstruction.
A
This
is
one
of
six
neighborhoods
part
of
the
pmp
street
improvement
project.
The
streets
will
be
closed
to
through
traffic
and
is
expected
to
be
complete
in
september.
The
entire
project
should
be
wrapped
by
fall
just
north
of
that
project
along
american
boulevard
between
penn
avenue
and
xerxes
avenue.
South
the
road
is
down
to
one
lane
in
both
directions
for
street
maintenance
work.
This
is
one
of
six
neighborhoods
part
of
the
pmp
street
overlay
project.
All
of
these
projects
will
also
be
completed
by
fall.
A
That
is
the
buzz
on
bloomington
today
for
the
week
of
july
14th
through
the
20th.
If
you
