Information about City facilities reopening, fun summer events to mark on your calendars, a look at the latest Atrium Gallery exhibit and a moment to recognize Pride Month.
A
Welcome
to
bloomington
today,
I'm
emily
taplin
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
june
16th
through
the
22nd
creekside
community
center
is
reopening
this
summer.
It
will
be
open
for
indoor
activities
again
on
thursday
july,
8th
with
a
reopen
house
on
july,
7th
from
9
a.m.
To
noon
some
favorite
activities,
including
arts
and
crafts
card
groups,
education,
fitness,
music
and
recreation-
will
all
be
back.
Unfortunately,
the
creekside
lunch
program
will
not
return
due
to
the
budget.
A
Creekside
staff
are
working
on
detailed
safety
precautions,
including
program
capacities
and
disinfecting
protocols,
with
the
goal
of
keeping
participants
safe,
a
reminder
that
civic,
plaza
public
health
and
public
works
are
all
open
again
for
walk-in
services
and
all
counters
are
staffed.
Staff
have
been
operating
by
appointment
only
through
the
pandemic
a
reminder.
Some
services
still
require
appointments,
as
they
always
have.
For
example,
passport
services
be
sure
to
register
for
this
year's
national
night
out.
The
annual
event
was
canceled
last
year
due
to
the
pandemic,
but
is
back
on
for
tuesday
august
3rd.
B
I
also
think
national
night
out
this
year
is
just
so
important
for
people
to
get
together
and
have
that
relationship
with
law
enforcement.
That's
a
positive
connection
and
we've
really
valued
having
these
connections
prior
to
the
last
year
that
we've
all
lived
through.
But
now
we
realize
how
important
it
is
more
so
than
ever.
B
We
always
value
our
community
engagement
and
our
our
participation
that
we
have
with
our
community.
But
now
we
even
see
that
how
impactful
the
work
that
we
do
in
law
enforcement
is
and
the
relationships
we
have
and
how
we're
forming
these
relationships.
We
take
them
very
seriously
in
our
department,
and
so
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we're
meeting
our
community
we're
answering
questions
and
concerns
that
we're
approachable
register.

The
city's
calendar
june
is
pride
month,
a
time
to
celebrate
the
contribution
of
folks
from
the
lgbtq
plus
community
and
the
contributions
they've
made
to
achieve
equal
justice.
C
Making
bloomington
or
minnesota
as
a
whole
more
welcoming
to
this
community,
I
think
being
transparent
and
loving
of
everyone
is
super
important.
So
for
someone
in
this
community
to
see
this
flag,
it's
a
sign
of
kind
of
like
allyship
or
just
togetherness
that
can
empower
them
to
like
continue
their
day
or
just
feel
proud
of
living
in
the
community
that
they
do
and
know
that
they're
welcome
just
as
much
as
anyone
else.
