election
day
is
tuesday
august
9th.
Earlier
this
year
the
city
redistricted
its
precinct
boundaries
so
be
sure
to
check
your
polling
location
before
you
go
visit.

wednesday
august
10th
from
6
to
8
pm
at
bryant
park,
there
will
be
food
discussion
circles
and
more
connect
with
neighbors
and
learn
more
about
just
deeds.
The
city
is
a
participant
of
the
just
deeds
coalition,
which
assists
property
owners
with
discharging
discriminatory
covenants
from
property
deeds.
A
discriminatory
covenant
imposes
a
restriction
on
the
use
of
land.
They
were
established
in
bloomington
between
1923-1951.
A
They
were
used
by
real
estate
developers
and
others
to
prevent
black
indigenous
and
people
of
color
from
buying
or
occupying
property.
Last
june,
the
city
council
passed
a
resolution
condemning
the
use
of
discriminatory
covenants
and
encouraged
property
owners
to
formally
discharge
them.
