A
Welcome
to
bloomington
today,
I'm
emily
taplin
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
march
30th
through
april
5th
construction
on
the
new
fire
station.
4
is
underway,
demolition
on
the
more
than
50-year-old
building
located
on
west
84th
street
happened
the
week
of
march
21st.
B
It
just
didn't
meet
the
needs
anymore.
The
the
building
was
to
the
point
of
where,
if
we
had
to
make
repairs,
it
was
you
know,
more
costly
to
repair
it
than
to
actually
tear
it
down,
and
our
apparatus
size
today
is
is
much
larger
and
you
know
we're
barely
fitting
the
ladder
truck
in
the
station
without
hitting
the
doors
I'm.
C
Retired
from
the
fire
department,
I
did
28
years
on
bfd,
and
so
I've
lived
next
to
the
station
for
probably
close
to
40
years,
and
it's
just
it's
always
a
part
of
you.
Once
you've
been
in
the
fire
department,
it's
fun
to
see
the
the
station
being
changed
upgraded.
It's
also
little
memories
of
that.
You
experience
at
the
old
one.
So
it's
it's
a
bittersweet
to
see
this,
but
it's
a.
I
think,
it's
a
very
good
thing.
We've
moved.
B
Those
trucks
to
different
stations
and
the
firefighters
are
serving
out
of
station
six
or
station
one
and
we're
staffing
crews
24
hours
a
day
to
have
a
quicker
response
down
into
this
area.
While
the
station's
closed
so
still
providing
that
service
getting
out
a
little
quicker.
You
know
two
three
minutes
quicker
than
we
would
if
we
were
coming
from
home.
A
Curbside
cleanup
starts
this
weekend.
This
coming
saturday
april.
2Nd
items
will
be
picked
up
at
homes,
east
of
portland
avenue,
a
reminder
that
curbside
cleanup
will
now
be
held
every
other
year
on
even-numbered
years,
and
small
items
are
no
longer
accepted
for
a
full
list
of
changes,
dates
and
guidelines
head
to
blm.mn
cleanup.
A
D
Winstead
has
been
a
public
servant
in
the
city
of
bloomington
since
the
1980s
and
it's
impossible
impossible
to
overstate
his
impact
on
the
city
of
bloomington.
He
served
on
the
planning
commission
as
a
city
council
member,
and
he
sat
in
the
mayor's
chair
for
20
years.
He
was
the
longest
tenured
mayor
in
the
city's
history.
D
A
That
is
the
buzz
on
bloomington
today
for
the
week
of
march
30th
through
april
5th.
If
you
would
like
to
watch
other
stories
from
the
show
go
to
this
week's
playlist,
there
you'll
find
a
recap
of
this
year's
state
of
the
city
hope
on
the
horizon,
plus
your
weekly
check-in
with
the
mayor
in
the
council
minute.
Thanks
for
watching.
