A
Thank
you
welcome
to
Bloomington
today,
I'm
Emily
taplin
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
Buzz
for
the
weeks
of
December
21st
through
January
3rd,
a
Bloomington
Police
Department,
deputy
chief
graduates
from
the
FBI
National
Academy,
deputy
chief
Kim
Claussen
graduated
from
the
284th
session
of
the
national
FBI
Academy.
She
is
one
of
a
handful
of
officers
in
the
Department's
history
to
complete
the
prestigious
program.
The
National
Academy
offers
10
weeks
of
Advanced
Communications
leadership
and
Fitness
training.
One.
B
I
had
partners
and
work
groups
who
were
from
Austria
Morocco
Taiwan,
as
well
as
people
from
local
Midwest
or
Miami
Beach,
a
police
department,
so
really
understanding
that
some
of
the
issues
locally
in
our
law
enforcement
and
within
our
city
are
not
not
just
specific
to
us
in
learning
how
other
agencies
have
worked
through
those
issues
or
you
know
you
learn
from
your
mistakes,
so
we've
learned
from
each
other's
mistakes
having
those
conversations
and
having
those
connections
that
I
can
just
call
up
or
email.
Somebody
and
say
you
know,
I
know
you
guys
experience
this.
A
Congratulations:
deputy
chief
Claussen,
the
city's
Chief
equity
and
inclusion
officer
was
recently
named
a
rising
young
professional
by
finance
and
commerce.
Faith
Jackson
was
recognized
by
finance
and
commerce,
as
quote
a
flourishing
star
of
business
that
has
demonstrated
leadership
in
her
industry
and
made
positive
impacts
in
her
communities.
Since
starting
with
the
city
in
2019,
she
has
helped
create
racial
Equity
action
teams,
improve
diversity
and
inclusion
policies,
build
a
more
diverse
Workforce
and
attract
a
wider
pool
of
candidates
to
serve
on
City
boards
and
commissions.
A
A
Big
things
are
happening
at
Bloomington
Ice
Garden,
a
Paris
figure
skating
Duo
for
Team
USA,
who
train
at
Big
recently
took
home
their
first
senior
International
gold
medal.
Anastasia,
smirnova
and
Daniel
cenizza
of
Shakopee
have
both
been
skating
since
they
were
kids
and
have
been
pairs
since
2018..
Earlier
this
month,
they
won
first
place
at
the
Golden
Spin
of
Zagreb
in
Croatia,
good
I.
C
Absolutely
talking
from
maybe
personal
perspective
is
kind
of
boost
of
confident
going
into
the
championship,
which
is
at
the
end
of
January
yeah.
D
For
me,
believe
it
or
not,
it
really
is
just
about
the
kids.
They've
had
a
really
rough
year
and
they've
had
you
know
their
families
are
in
Ukraine.
Where
things
aren't
good
they've
been
you
know,
they've
had
some
illnesses,
they've
had
some
injuries,
it's
been
a
really
rough
year,
so
I
was
just
really
happy
for
them.
We've.
E
E
You
know,
senior
level
skaters
in
the
last
year,
they've
had
some
ups
and
downs,
but
recently
headed
off
to
Croatia
and
ended
up
taking
first
place
and
won
their
first
gold
International
medal
at
the
senior
level,
which
is
a
really
big
deal
and
they're
here
all
the
time
and
so
I
thought
it
would
be
great
to
to
acknowledge
it
and
and
promote
you
know
things
other
than
hockey
that
are
happening
at
the
Bloomington
Ice
Garden.
