First,
we
bring
you
the
Buzz
for
the
week
of
October
19th
through
the
25th
2022
marks,
75
years
of
service
for
the
Bloomington
Fire
Department
on
October
15th,
the
FD
hosted
its
annual
open
house
at
stations
across
Bloomington
all,
but
fire
station
4,
which
is
currently
under
construction.
This
footage
is
from
stations
one
and
three,
where
residents
got
to
experience
an
extrication
demo
and
use
a
fire
hose
residents
also
met
local
firefighters,
explored
the
trucks
and
learned
about
fire
safety.

The
Bloomington
Fire
Department
will
be
hiring
new
staff
thanks
to
the
help
of
a
Federal
Grant
in
late
September,
the
Bloomington
Fire
Department
was
awarded
the
safer
Grant.
Safer
stands
for
Staffing
for
adequate
fire
and
emergency
response.
The
grant
will
allow
the
department
to
hire
18
new,
full-time
firefighters,
additional
firefighters
are
needed
to
help
improve
response
times
and
better
meet
the
safety
needs
of
the
community.
The
fire
department
is
working
closely
with
human
resources
and
hope
to
have
positions
filled
in
about
six
months.

Cold
and
flu
season
is
just
around
the
corner.
The
best
way
to
protect
yourself
and
others
from
becoming
severely
ill
or
hospitalized
is
by
getting
an
annual
flu
shot.
Bloomington
Public
Health
is
holding
several
Community
clinics
in
October
across
Bloomington,
Edina
and
Richfield
to
schedule
your
flu
shot
at
one
of
the
community
clinics
visit
blm.mn
clinics.
The
online
appointment
process
is
available
in
English
and
Spanish.
If
you
need
any
assistance,
please
call
the
number
listed
on
your
screen,
calling
all
environmental
sustainability
champions,
help
preserve
bloomington's
biodiversity
by
taking
out
invasive
Buckthorn.

Saturday
October
29th
from
10
a.m.
To
noon
at
Harrison,
Park
volunteers
should

the
parking
lot.
The

will
help
cut
pile
and
haul
buckthorne.
No
previous
experience
is
necessary.
They
do
recommend
you
be
age
15
and
up
bring
your
own
work,
gloves
and
water

learn
more
and

visit.

Parks
and

a
free
outdoor
event
happening
on
Sunday,
October
30th
from
2
to
5
PM
at
Normandale,

Park
and
is
designed
for
kids
preschool
age
through
fifth
grade.
Trail
experiences
will
include
entertainment,
candy
and
surprises
for
more
than
a
dozen
Community
partner
organizations,
there's

a
coloring
contest
for
kids
to
participate
in
to
learn
more
and
