we
bring
you
the
Buzz
for
the
week
of
March
1st
through
the
7th
the
city's
next
town
hall
forum
is
Saturday,
March
11th.
It
will
be
hosted
by
at
large
council
members,
Jenna
Carter
and
samua,
who
was
recently
appointed.
The
town
hall
is
from
10
to
11
30
at
Creekside,
Community
Center.
You
can
submit
questions
ahead
of
time
at
the
website
listed
on
your
screen.

Mayor
Tim
Bussey
kicked
off
the
sequence
of
town
hall
forums
in
August
of
2022,
inviting
community
members
to
ask
questions
and
learn
more
about
projects
and
initiatives
happening
in
the
city.
Council
members,
Patrick,
Martin,
Dwayne,
lohmann,
Lona,
dalessandro
and
Sean.
Nelson
have
also
hosted
forums
in
their
districts.

wants
to
help
the
Bloomington
Housing
and
Redevelopment
Authority
in
partnership
with
U.S
bank
and
project
for
pride
and
living
are
hosting
free
workshops
in
2023.
they're
offered
in
English
the
third
Wednesday
of
every
month
in
Somali,
the
third
Tuesday
of
every
month
and
in
Spanish
the
third
Thursday
of
every
month.
It's
designed
to
create
successful,
first-time
homebuyers,
learn
the
basics
of
the
home,
buying
process
register
for
financial
homeownership
counseling
and
ask
questions
of
real
estate
professionals
and
homeownership
advisors.

Workshop
is
happening:

at
the
Bloomington
Center
for
the
Arts

to
7

PM

the

register.
This
is
your
friendly
reminder
that
curbside
cleanup
is
now
held
every
other
year
on
even
numbered
years.
That
means
no
curbside
Cleanup
in
2023,
but
we
have
a
list
of
alternatives
for
you
as
part
of
the
bulky
item
management
program,
the
city
is
piloting
a
new
service
for
a
monthly
collection
of
certain
bulky
items
for
reuse
and
recycling.

That
program
has
been
tested
with
some
Bloomington
homes
already
and
should
be
available
Citywide
in
May
to
learn
more
about
the
new
service
and
partnership
with
non-profit,
better
Futures
Minnesota
visit
blm.mn
bulkies.
Some
items
that
were
collected
during
the
cleanup,
like
appliances
and
metal
items,
can
be
taken
year
round
to
the
Hennepin
County
problem
waste
drop-off
center
located
here
in
Bloomington.
The
facility
also
accepts
Electronics
hazardous
waste,
extra
recyclables
and
more
for
items
that
need
to
be
picked
up
as
garbage
as
well
as
large
appliances
and
electronics.

can
also
schedule
bulky
item
pickups
year
round
for
a
fee
through
Utility
Billing.
Another
option
is
to
hold
on
to
the
items
until
the
2024
curbside
pickup
and
each
year
the
city
will
host
a
recycling
drop-off
event.
The
first
was
held
in
Fall
of
2022
and
there
will
be
one
again.
This
fall.
They
accept
things
like
Electronics
appliances
that
aren't
in
working
condition.
Paper
for
on-site
treading
and
scrap
metal
will
also
be
accepted
for
more
information
about
how
to
properly
dispose
of
all
sorts
of
items.

of

your

baked
goods,
canned
goods
and
other
locally
made
crafts
for
additional
details.
