A
B
I
started
up
in
the
police
department.
I
got
to
work
with
some
of
the
k-9
mothers
in
the
street,
and
I
saw
how
interesting
it
was
to
work
with
the
police
community
partner
and
also
I,
get
to
be
out
there.
Looking
for
the
criminals
or
looking
for
lost
children
and
walk
away
elderly,
we
get
involved
in
community
in
lots
of
different
ways
that
the
patrol
officers
can't
schools
12
weeks
long
is
held
at
the
st.
Paul
Police
Department
and
there
you
go
through
all
the
basic
obedience.
All
the
Criminal
Apprehension,
the
human
scent
detection.
B
B
Comes
from
Euston
Europe,
but
we
got
him
from
a
breeder
out
of
Florida
and
then
he
gets
shipped
up
here
and
lands
in
my
house
and
then
we
go
to
school
and
he's
mine
forever.
Hopefully,
what
kind
of
dog
is
Ted
heads
of
Malinois,
which
is
they've
been
used
for
a
long
time,
but
it's
a
largely
new
to
the
police
area
in
this
area.
There's
been
military
dog,
but
not
only
becoming
part
of
the
police
force
in
greater
numbers.
So.
B
Photos
away
on
our
Twitter
page
a
few
times,
I
found
after
Ted
and
I
been
hanging
out
for
a
while
that
he
just
he
has
his
own
little
personality
about
doing
things
and
get
into
things
and
he's
willing
to
pose
for
pictures.
So
I
did
everything.
I
could
to
try
to
try
to
bring
that
to
life
through
Twitter
and
I
wanted
to
make
sure
I
stay
off
Twitter,
and
it
was
all
just
about
Ted.
A
B
B
B
A
One
of
the
great
things
about
living
in
Bloomington
is
the
urban
canopy
trees,
add
a
lot
of
value
to
our
residential
properties
and
they
also
create
a
serene
environment.
But
one
thing
about
the
trees
is
they
actually
need
quite
a
bit
of
tending
so
today,
on
the
Verbruggen
view,
we're
going
to
learn
about
the
tree
trimming
crew
in
our
public
works
department?
Why
don't
you
come
along
with.
A
We're
standing
in
front
of
one
of
our
bucket
trucks,
with
Dustin
Jacobson
from
our
Public
Works
Department,
so
we're
going
to
ask
duck
Dustin
he's
one
of
our
experts
around
here.
How
we
do
things
why
we
do
it
and
then
he's
going
to
give
me
a
little
tutorial
and
I'm
going
to
go
up
inside
the
bucket
and
take
a
crack
at
taking
down
one
of
these
trees,
so
our
crews
work
in
the
winter
on
the
tree
trimming
more
than
the
summer
time.
Why
is
that?
Well,
it's
better.
C
For
the
trees
to
do
the
trimming
in
the
wintertime
at
the
time
when
all
the
tissues
are
dormant
and
there's
less
likelihood
of
transmitting
any
types
of
diseases,
it
also
minimizes
any
issues
like
in
the
spring.
If
there's
going
to
be
like
insects
that
could
find
that
new
wound
and
possibly
make
a
home
in
the
tree
and.
C
You
know
the
last
few
years,
obviously
with
the
advent
of
emerald
ash
borer,
that
type
of
survey
has
become
a
lot
more
important
and
so
every
winter
now
that
becomes
a
part
of
my
job
is
going
around
and
looking
for
that
woodpecker
activity,
that's
much
easier
to
see
when
there's
no
leaves
on
the
tree.
So.
A
C
The
the
easiest
way
a
lot
of
times
when
I'm,
just
driving
by
as
you
can
see
what
we
call
blondie.
So
that's
where,
like
a
woodpecker,
is
kind
of
excavated
out
a
little
patch
down
to
the
wood
and
a
lot
of
times
that
will
show
up
real
bright.
In
contrast
to
the
dark
gray
bark
on
the
outside,
so
which
trees.
A
C
A
C
Well,
what
we
have
is
a
joystick
control
system
on
this
bucket,
so
it's
if
you're
kind
of
familiar
with
running
a
joystick
on
a
video
game.
It
works
pretty
similar.
You
have
this
trigger.
That's
actually
your
throttle.
It's
on
the
bottom
side
of
the
handle,
and
so
that
will
idle
up
the
engine
and
corresponding
speed
and
how
much
hydraulic
pressure
you're
getting
right.
It
takes
a
little
bit
of
getting
used
to
to
realize
which
which
directions
controlling
upper
and
lower
boom,
but
once
you
do
it
becomes
pretty
intuitive
up.
A
A
One
of
the
great
things
about
living
in
the
city
of
Bloomington
is
the
natural
environment,
and
so
today
we're
going
to
visit
with
Steve
journey
our
water
resource
specialists
and
we're
going
to
talk
about
the
work
that
our
staff
does
to
ensure
the
health
of
the
lakes
ponds
and
streams
in
the
city
of
Bloomington
and
share
with
you
what
you
can
do
to
help
maintain
that
Hill?
Why
don't
you
come
along?
So
this
week's
Verbruggen
view.
A
Today,
I
am
at
Busch
Lake,
with
Steve
Journey
water
resource
specialists
in
our
Public
Works
Department
Steve
is
going
to
talk
to
us
today
about
what
they
do
to
test
for
water
quality
and
make
sure
that
the
health
of
our
ponds
and
lakes
in
the
community
is
staying
strong,
so
Steve
welcome
to
the
show.
Thank
you
so
tell
me
a
little
bit
about
what
you
do
generally
before
we
start
looking
at
the
equipment.
Sure.
D
I
I
do
all
kinds
of
different
public
outreach
type
activities,
I
answer
questions.
If
people
have
flooding
concerns
or
or
if
they're,
not
sure
whether
they
should
be
fertilizing,
their
yard
extra
I
go
out
when
we
have
people
that
rate
their
leaves
into
the
streets
and
educate
them.
Why
that's
not
a
good
idea
to
do
so?
D
Unfortunately,
we
still
have
some
people
that
don't
paint
down
the
storm
drains,
and
so
that's
another
thing
that
I
go
out
and
do
we
also
go
around
in
the
summer
and
monitor
some
of
the
ponds
throughout
the
city
and
that's
kind
of
what
we're
going
to
show
it
today
is
how
we
go
about.
We
grab
a
sample
and
take
care
of
that
up
at
the
lab,
so.
D
We
take
we
take
the
kayak
out
come
we
do
a
couple
different
things
there.
We
measure
the
depth
of
some
of
the
ponds
and
we
get
the
volume
of
each
of
those
ponds,
and
by
that
we
can
tell
how
much
treatment
each
of
those
ponds
is
giving
us
and
that
helps
the
nutrients
settle
out
of
the
water
and
it
helps
provide
provide
better
water
quality
for
downstream
water
bodies,
whether
they
be
our
lakes,
our
streams
or
the
Minnesota
River.
D
A
D
A
One
other
thing:
that's
really
important
for
our
staff
that
work
out
in
the
field
is
to
make
sure
that
we
have
proper
equipment
for
conditions,
and
so
I
know
that
our
risk
manager
would
want
me
to
tell
you
that
when
we
have
people
work
in
the
field,
it's
always
important
to
have
a
hat
on
right.
You
keep
yes
off
of
faith
and
I.
Imagine
you
wear
a
lot
of
fun
ring.
Yes,
so
protective
equipment
isn't
just
the
type
of
stuff
that
firefighters
wear
protective
equipment
also
includes
protection
from
the
Sun
for
our
outdoor
workers.
A
So
once
again,
we've
shown
you
a
little
bit
of
the
city
of
Bloomington
that
you
may
not
have
known.
We
provide
as
part
of
our
city
services,
making
sure
that
the
health
of
our
lakes
and
our
ponds
and
our
streams
and
understanding
how
what
we
do
as
residents
contributes
to
the
health
of
those
water
bodies
is
really
important,
and
so
thanks
to
Steve
gurney
for
showing
us
what
we
needed
to
know
today
on
the
rubric
give
you.
