From YouTube: Meeting Demands at MSP Airport
Description
The Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport predicts a steady increase in travelers over the next several decades. Find out what proposals are being considered to meet that growing demand.
B
We
realize
that
there's
a
lot
of
elements
to
that.
You
have
to
have
a
safe
facility.
You
have
to
have
a
convenient
facility.
You
have
to
have
a
facility.
That
is
a
good
experience
for
people
when
they're
here,
and
we
have
a
variety
of
passengers
that
come
in
whether
they're
business
passengers
or
they're
tourists
or
they're
people
that
are
just
connecting
on
their
way
through.
So
our
commitment
really
is
to
provide
that
kind
of
a
positive
experience,
and
it's
the
image
for
the
for
the
state
of
minnesota
that
you
know
a
lot
of
people.
A
Of
those
33
million
passengers
about
4
million
are
traveling
through
terminal
2.,
currently,
spirit
southwest
and
sun
country
are
the
airlines
that
fly
out
of
terminal,
2's
10
gates,
but
as
the
number
of
destinations
offered
by
carriers
combined
with
larger
planes
and
more
frequent
flight
times,
these
10
gates
are
no
longer
cutting.
It.
B
The
long-term
growth
here,
which
is
definitely
driven
by
economics
and
the
success
of
businesses
and
such
is
very,
I
think,
conservatively
optimistic
relative
to
that
a
three
percent
growth
rate.
A
lot
of
companies
would
like
to
see
that
going
forward
and
we
expect
that
we'll
see
years
larger
than
that
or
smaller
than
that
right
now,
it's
it's
starting
up
a
little
bit
slower,
except
here
at
t2
and
that's
the
uniqueness
of
t2,
is
that
we
can't
really
pack
any
more
aircraft
operations
in
here
during
certain
times
of
the
day.
A
B
Doing
nothing
didn't
sync
up
with
our
long-term
comp
plan
and
it
didn't
make
sense
for
the
convenience
for
our
customers,
so
that
was
kind
of
set
aside,
so
that
left
us
with
essentially
two
options.
The
one
was
to
take
some
of
the
demand
that
is
growing
here
and
wants
to
grow
here
at
terminal
2
and
move
it
to
terminal
1.
A
B
In
our
long
term,
comp
plan
terminal
two
at
some
day
will
grow
to
be
a
36
gate
facility
from
10
today.
Now,
when
that
actually
happens,
our
growth
patterns
were
forecasted
accurately.
That
would
be
the
next
20
years.
