From YouTube: Airport Commission Meeting
Description
October 6, 2021
A
B
So
I
am
actually
in
salt
lake
this
morning
at
a
airports
conference,
I'm
doing
a
workshop
on
the
attending
a
workshop
on
the
salt
lake
city
expansion
and
then
I
have
a
board
meeting
tomorrow
and
alex
is
live
and
in
person
at
the
airport,
and
we
are
waiting
on
meg,
as
the
commission
chair
to
be
there
in
person,
because
we
need
to
have
someone
someone
on
site
from
the
commission,
so
meg
is.
The
commission
chair
drew
the
lucky
straw
to
be
there
with
alex
this
morning.
B
A
Well,
I
everyone
who
was
on
the
email
list
that
was
sent
to
me
by
michelle
is
in
as
panelist.
I
can
I'm
looking
at
the
names
of
the
attendees.
A
If
you
can
you,
if
you
hit
the
participants
icon
at
the
bottom
of
your
screen,
you
will
see
the
attendees
that
are
in.
I
see
one
two,
three
six
people
in
as
attendees
already.
B
A
C
We
have
general
saylor
jamie
and
kelly
fleming
and
commissioner
badging.
A
A
Yeah,
that
would
be
a
good
idea,
I
mean
I'll,
say
I
I'll
copy
the
folks
that
are
in.
D
B
I
can
hear
you
frank
good
morning,
I'm
looking
at
the
list
greg
and
those
are
all
fine
to
be.
F
B
And
we
are
waiting
for
meg
to
arrive
because
we
need
to
have
a
commissioner
present
in
person
in
order
to
comply
with
our
open
meeting
laws.
So,
okay.
B
I
think
we're
fine
and
if
we
are
delayed,
maybe
what
we
can
do
is.
I
can
just
run
through
the
presentation
and
we
won't
actually
vote
on
any
items.
Approval
of
minutes
or
anything
like
that,
okay,
informational
kelly,
will,
I'm
sure,
send
me
a
message
if
she
tells
me
that
that's
not
a
good
idea.
E
E
B
C
Honestly,
it
could
go
either
way.
I
think
that
depends
on
the
time
of
day.
B
All
right,
let's
maybe
just
go
ahead-
I
have
that
it's
almost
8
35..
Let's
go
ahead
I'll
run
through
the
commission
report
for
the
commission
members
and
then
we
can.
If
you
have
questions
about
anything,
we
certainly
can
talk
about
it,
but
we
won't
have
an
official
meeting
unless
commission
chair
carlson
is
ends
up
at
the
airport.
So
unless
there's
an
objection,
I'll
just
go
ahead
and
run
through
these
just
to
give.
A
B
And
then
we'll
blend
it
out,
one
of
the
things
that
we
always
talk
about
is
runway
closures.
We
do
have.
We
did
have
a
couple
of
closures
in
september.
The
runway
was
closed.
The
entire
month
due
to
the
taxiway
golf
project
when
the
taxiway
intersects
with
the
runway.
It
requires
us
to
close
the
runway
because
of
equipment
and
personnel
in
the
safety
area
and
then
in
sep
in
october.
B
B
We
had
some
excitement
in
september
air
force,
one
flew
into
boise.
Our
operations
team
was
instrumental
in
that
it's
a
little
bit
of
a
heavy
lift
for
our
team
to
make
sure
that
everything
is
ready.
Multiple
flights,
president
biden
was
in
boise
to
visit
the
nifc
campus.
So
it's
exciting
to
have
him
here.
B
One
of
the
things
that
we've
been
working
on
and
we've
talked
about
this
a
little
bit
before-
is
that
now
that
boise
has
been
designated
as
a
medium
hub.
There
are
certain
regulatory
requirements
that
we
must
comply
with.
One
of
them
is
a
competition
plan
and
the
purpose
is
to
highlight
the
actions
of
the
airport
to
induce
competition
in
our
market.
It's
required
if
your
two
largest
carriers
have
more
than
50
percent
of
the
market
share
in
boise
southwest
and
alaska.
B
B
B
Existing
property
is
vacant
and
we
are
applying
to
rezone
as
m1d,
which
is
a
light
industrial,
that's
the
way
that
it's
depicted
but
in
the
plan,
but
that's
not
the
way
that
it's
currently
zoned.
So
we're
not
expecting
it
to
be
controversial.
As
you
can
see,
we
don't
have
significant
neighbors
out
there,
and
I
think
this
is
consistent
with
what's
going
on
in
that
part
of
our
community,
but
it
is
a
requirement.
So
I
just
wanted
to
mention
that
we
will
be
doing
that
august
employments.
B
We
are
up
one
percent
compared
to
2019,
so
again
a
slight
increase,
but
we
are
seeing
a
return
to
passenger
travel
over
the
summer,
and
then
we
are
up
78
compared
to
2020,
but
down
six
percent
year
to
date
through
august.
Again,
that's
probably
slightly
ahead
of
what
we're
seeing
at
a
national
level,
but
still
down
a
little
bit
compared
to
2019
due
to.
D
B
Thank
you
I'll
just
have
another
sip
of
coffee,
and
then
I
this
chart
here
doesn't
really
require
any
explanation.
It's
self-explanatory,
but
you
can
see
historically,
our
year-over-year
passenger
travel
trends.
B
And
then
our
forward-looking
schedule,
this
is
again
what
we
look
at
when
we
look
at
capacity
is
a
good
indication
for
what
we
think
will
happen
with
passengers.
So
departures
continue
to
be
up.
Seats
are
up
slightly
more
meaning
more
seats,
and
those
departures
will
be
the
same
in
october,
but
seats
will
be
up
slightly
and
again
continuing
to
forecast
modest
increases
in
capacity.
B
Revenue
and
expenses
revenues
continue
to
be
up
13.
I
don't
think
that
there's
anything
extraordinary
in
these
numbers,
it's
good
to
see
revenue
up,
13
and
then
operating
expenses,
as
you
would
expect,
also
are
up
slightly,
but
not
as
significantly
as
revenue.
So
that's
always
a
good
thing
as
well,
and
that
concludes
my
director's
report.
B
So
apologies,
everyone.
Are
there
any
questions.
G
Morning,
quick
question:
last
night
we
rezoned
a
very
small
piece
of
property
to
r1m
to
m1d
and
did
have
a
neighbor
join
us
and
say
they
were
concerned
with
the
impacts
of
that.
So
I
just
want
to
let
you
know
that
that
neighbor's
out
there
amy
was
at
the
meeting.
So
I
suspect
she
got
her
name
and
if
you
want
to
contact
her
prospectively,
it
might
not
be
a
bad
idea.
E
Rebecca
did
you
see
in
the
paper
where
they're
cutting
the
flights
from
twin
falls
down
they're
losing
two
of
their
three
daily
flights
to
salt
lake
city,
so
twin
falls
is
losing
flights,
which
will
obviously
mean
that'll
push
the
traffic
this
way
or
to
solve.
You
know,
but
yeah.
That's
strange,
though,
that
because
twins,
the
only
other
major
hub
with
in
the
south
that
goes
to
salt
lake,
it's
not
a
hub.
It's
a
tiny
airport.
G
E
B
I
had
not
seen
that
yet
and
I
have
not
talked
to
their
airport
director,
but
I
will
follow
up
with
him,
but
council
member
clegg
is
right.
Idaho
falls
has
been
growing
exponentially.
I
think
that
they're
actually
up
in
terms
of
passenger
traffic
compared
to
2019,
probably
in
the
double
digits
a
lot
of
it
is
due
to
allegiant.
B
So
I
think
maybe
there
is
so
I
think
maybe
there's
not
as
much
connectivity,
because
they're
adding
the
non-stops
perhaps
but
again
that
would
be
an
origin
and
destination
that
doesn't
give
you
the
connectivity
over
the
hub
that
you
would
get
in
salt
lake.
F
Rebecca
at
this
point,
I
would
this
is
kelly
fleming
I
hate
to
interrupt,
but
I
would
recommend
that
we
just
do
a
roll
call
for
the
record
to
see
who's
present
and
then,
if
miss
carlton
is
not
present
in
person
that
we
actually
call
the
meeting
at
this
point
just
to
be
on
the
safe
side
of
the
open
meetings
act.
E
E
F
E
D
C
B
C
Myself,
alex
everman
and
appetite.
F
Okay,
so
at
this
point
we
do
not
have
somebody
physically
present
in
person
at
the
airport
for
the
meeting,
so
I
would
recommend
that
we
not
proceed
any
further.
B
All
right,
so
we
will
conclude
our
lack
of
meeting.
Thank
you
all
for
attending
and
being
present
to
just
talk
openly
about
the
airport
and
the
items
we
will
send.
We
will
make
sure
that
the
copy
of
this
presentation
is
posted
online
and
we
will
note
that
we
did
not
hold
an
official
meeting
so.
B
Well,
an
apologies,
I
don't
know
what
happened
to
meg.
I
hope
everything
is
okay
with
her.
She
had
indicated
that
she
would
be
there.
So
I
hope
everything
is
fine
and
she
just
was
confused
about
the
date
or
the
time
or
something,
or
that
was
something
minor
that
detained
her.
If
anyone
has
anything
for
me,
please
feel
free
to
reach
out.
You
know
how
to
get
a
hold
of
me.
D
I
do
have,
I
just
wonder,
does,
does
anybody
have
I
don't,
but
does
anybody
have
meg's
cell
number?
I
wondered
if
we
should
check
with
her.
D
Wondering
if
she
might
be
nearby,
but
it's
probably
wishful
thinking.
