A
B
B
So
much
my
name
is
Lindsay
I'm
a
park
ranger
for
the
city
of
Boulder,
as
are
my
friends
here
and
as
Park
Rangers.
We
get
to
do
all
sorts
of
fantastic
activities
to
assist
people
and
the
land,
and
my
personal
favorite
thing
to
do
is
rescues.
So
if
you
get
hurt
or
lost
which
I
hope
you
don't,
but
if
you
do
I
hope,
I'm
working
that
day,
so
I
can
go
and
find
you
how.
C
E
Hey
everybody,
my
name
is
Dave
Gustafson
and
we
actually
are
police
officers
and
firefighters
as
well.
So
those
are
parts
of
jobs
that
I
really
like
to
do
too,
as
well.
A
B
Have
a
marmot
we'll
tell
you
why,
in
a
bit,
why
we
have
a
moment
instead
of
groundhog
and
it's
sincerely
dead,
it
might
have
been
dead
longer
than
I've
even
been
alive.
E
B
A
B
Him
what
else
should
we
talk
about
to
get
going?
Oh
I
know
so
one
more
thing
about
Groundhog
Day,
it's
a
little
bit
confusing
to
figure
out,
but
if
the
groundhog,
in
this
case
Marmot
sees
its
shadow,
that
means
that
we
have
six
more
weeks
in
Winter
if
it
does
not
see
a
shadow.
That
means
that,
when
that
spring
is
right
around
the
corner,
just
so
we've
clarified
that.
D
A
E
E
Sure
we
should
have
do
a
groundhog
day
programs
quite
a
long
time
ago,
when
we
first
did
it
I
thought
what
a
great
day
for
Park
Rangers
to
to
celebrate
right,
the
only
holiday,
that's
in
the
Seoul
honor
of
an
animal.
It
was
way
way
wrong.
Groundhog
Day
is
a
very
convoluted
history.
It's
got.
It's
got
a
lot
of
mystery
going
on
with
it.
E
It
actually
has
something
to
do
with
what's
going
on
in
outer
space
right
now,
believe
it
or
not,
that's
actually,
where
it
all
started,
and
it
actually
has
to
deal
with
two
religions
that
don't
get
along
with
one
another
and
it
actually
has
to
deal
with
other
animals
besides
the
groundhog.
So
if
I
did
give
you
the
whole
history
of
Groundhog,
Day
we'd
be
here
for
a
couple
hours,
but
I'm
going
to
try
to
do
it
in
less
than
five
minutes.
Okay,
so
we're
going
to
take
a
little
trip
up
to
outer
space
and.
E
E
Center
out
the
center
of
the
universe
here
and
not
too
long
ago,
folks,
just
a
little
while
back
on
December
21st,
we
were
in
the
northern
hemis
Pharmacy
hemisphere
here
tilted
a
little
ways
away
from
the
Sun
and
we
went
to
our
shortest
day
of
the
year.
It
was
the
shortest
day
as
far
as
sunlight
was
concerned,
come
on
over
and
see
the
solstice.
The.
E
That
we
are
heading
around
the
Sun
and
we're
heading
to
you.
A
really
nice
day
called
the
summer
solstice,
which
will
take
place
on
June
20th
our
longest
day
of
the
year.
So
there
is
hope,
so
we
have
a
longest
day
of
the
year
and
we
have
the
shortest
day
of
the
year.
There's
actually
two
days
during
the
year
that
we
have
about
12
hours
of
sunlight
and
12
hours
of
Darkness.
Does
anybody
know
what
those
days
are
called.
A
E
They're
called
the
equinoxes
right
so
on
March
20th
we're
going
to
be
about
halfway
between
the
solstice
of
the
winter
in
the
solstice
of
the
summer.
So
everybody's
like
well,
that's
great
we're
not
even
quite
the
spring
yet
because
spring
starts
to
Mark's
plenty.
But
what
does
this
have
to
do
with
Groundhog
Day?
A
E
Day
is
the
exact
halfway
mark
between
the
equinox
and
the
solstice,
we're
halfway
to
Spring,
what
a
great
day
to
make
a
prediction
right
and
the
thing
is,
is
not
a
lot
of
people
today
when
they
got
up.
You
looked
at
your
calendar,
it
might
actually
say
embellish
on
your
calendar
and
that's
actually
a
pagan
holiday
that
some
people
will
just
be
celebrating
today,
because
we
are
halfway
there
today.
Now
when
it
comes
to
religions,
I'll
put
the
religion
piece
in
there
for
you.
Thank
you.
E
The
candle
Moss
day
this
is
a
Christian
holiday
and
sometimes
Christians
like
to
cover
up
pagan
holidays,
so
they
put
candle
mosque
right
on
this
day,
go
figure.
It's
a
celebration
of
the
candles.
People
will
bring
panels
to
church
on
on
this
day.
Sometimes,
actually
priests
will
bring
candles
out
to
folks
it's
been
around
for
a
long
long
time,
and
when
we
take
a
look
at
the
history
of
sandalmas
day
check
out
this
piece
of
literature
from
Great
Britain,
it
says
if
candelma
stay
be
fair
and
bright
winter
will
have
another
flight.
E
E
Started
with
Candlebox
in
Europe
today
are
actually
amazing
whether
or
not
we're
gonna
have
an
early
spring
or
Not.
By
seeing
certain
types
of
hibernating
animals,
for
instance,
this
one
is
kind
of
unique
that
is
a
Eurasian
Badger,
so
maybe
some
people
are
using
Eurasian
Badgers.
Today,
you
might
have
seen
this
picture
before
after
you've
completely
been
on
social
media.
E
From
open
space
in
Mountain
Parks,
some
people
in
Europe
might
be
basing
today
on
a
Eurasian
bear,
but
even
more
often
than
not
over
in
Europe.
What
they're
taking
a
look
at
today,
I
said,
but
groundhog
is
this
Critter
right
here
a
hedgehog?
E
E
A
E
A
D
So
our
furry
friend
that
makes
our
prediction
every
year
isn't
a
groundhog.
It's
actually
a
yellow-bellied
Marmot.
So
if
you
take
a
look
at
our
beautiful
map
here,
this
red
blob
is
our
distribution
of
groundhogs.
So
we
see
it's
all
over
the
eastern
U.S,
but
this
blue
star
here,
that's
us
here
in
Colorado,
so
we
don't
get
any
groundhogs
over
here,
but
a
very
close
relative
to
the
groundhog
would
be
our
Marmot,
and
this
yellow
blob
is
the
distribution
of
the
yellow-bellied
marmot
and
that's
what
we
have
here
in
Colorado.
D
So
even
though
Freddy
isn't
our
typical
groundhog,
he
is
still
very
good
at
making
his
weather
predictions
and
groundhogs
and
marmots
are
pretty
similar,
so
they
both
hibernate
in
the
winter.
They
both
eat
vegetation
and
they're,
pretty
similar
in
size
too,
but
other
than
distribution.
Another
difference
between
them
is
their
coloration,
so
groundhogs
are
that
darker
color
to
them
and
marmots
kind
of
like
the
name,
suggests
yellow-bellied
marmots.
They
have
that
lighter
different
coloration
on
the
front.
That's
a
little
bit
yellow
and
a
lighter
tan
color.
So
where
is
Freddy?
E
He's
by
his
thumb,
this
is
where
he's
usually
at
I
mean
usually
when
we
come
out
here,
he
will
pop
out
of
the
stump,
but
he
only
comes
out
if
we
do
a
little
Groundhog
Day
dance.
So
everybody
has
to
do
this
dance.
If
we
were
looking
out
here
and
he's
looking
out
of
his
little
hole
here,
not
doing
the
dance,
he
will
not
come
out.
So
everybody
we're
holding
you
responsible
for
this.
E
The
good
thing
about
it
is
that
it's
got
some
movements
to
it
too,
and
it's
really
easy
and
all
you
have
to
do
is
repeat
after
me.
It's
two
it's
to
the
tune
of
I'm,
a
Little
Teapot.
Remember
that
one
all
right,
so
everybody
kind
of
get
stretched
out,
get
ready
to
roll
here.
Okay,
just
follow
my
lead.
A
E
We're
gonna
do
this.
There's
a
lot
of
schools
actually
watching
online.
Today,
there's
a
school
I
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
Maggie
mining
class
out
in
North
Fork
Virginia.
There's
a
woman
Nancy
Wilson
up
in
Fargo
North
Dakota
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
her
to
all
you,
kids
out
there
jump
up,
and
it
kind
of
goes
like
this
folks
we're
going
to
do
this
North
Dakota
style,
so
I'm
a
little
groundhog
short
and
stout
bushy
little
tail.
A
A
A
E
A
C
This
is
extremely
dangerous.
Do
not
try
this
at
home,
so
first
we
need
to
put
on
our
protective
equipment.
That
means
I'm.
Gonna
need
a
pair
of
glasses.
I.
Don't
want
you
to
poke
me
in
the
eyes
they
need
a
helmet.
Just
in
case
you
have
to
go
for
my
head
and
last
but
not
least,
I'm
gonna
find
a
pair
of
gloves,
so
he
can't
bite
off
my
finger
like
that.
D
E
Bird,
you
know
what
that
is.
That's
a
raptor.
It's
that's
a
prairie
falcon.
It's
a
raptor.
We
have
a
lot
of
raptors
out
here,
like
golden
eagles,
bald
eagles
anniversary
card,
see
what
it
says.
E
C
A
B
From
the
from
the
car
yeah
yeah.
D
B
The
Raptor
close
design,
that's
so
that
we
close
areas
so
that
people
can't
get
close
to
Raptor,
Nets
and
disturb
them
right,
but
that's
right
and
I
think
that
actually
went
into
effect
just
yesterday,
February
1st,
it
was
because
this
is
when
they
start
to
come
in
next
February
1st.
D
To
call
okay,
maybe
he's
trying
to
give
us
some
Clues
could
be
okay,
let's
see
it's
hard
Falcon
on
it.
Well,
don't
Falcons
Nest
on
our
third
flat
iron,
if
that
would
make
sense,
and
our
third
flat
iron
is
super
popular
for
our
climbing
community.
So
maybe
he's
trying
to
tell
us
about
that-
and
maybe
this
isn't
a
chicken
egg.
After
all,
maybe
it's
I
don't
know
a
raptor
egg,
Maybe
good.
A
E
E
Residing
up
at
the
Nature
Center
on
Flagstaff
for
about
30
years
when
a
vet,
what
happens
up
at
the
Nature
Center
every
single
year
in
the
spring?
Is
we
open
the
Nature
Center
spring
one
year?
He
did
not
get
wrapped
up
and
put
in
the
closet
and
what
happened
is
his
fellow
brethren
loaded?
Mice
came
along.
E
E
If
we
run
him
out
to
the
side
yeah
because
he
looks
like
he's,
got
his
little
scroll
here,
run
them
really
quick
and
see
what
happens?
What
we'll
do
afterwards,
we
bring
them
out.
You
know
we'll
bring
them
over
here
and
see
what
his
predictions
are
going
to
be,
and
the
thing
is
we're
done
here
today.
