From YouTube: Artist Interview: Tyler Vinnola
Description
“We Are Never Alone,” is a project Tyler developed in response to the isolating experience of physical distancing. As a vocalist, he is learning a new set of songs to perform for his neighborhood from his backyard. Neighbors in adjacent yards can sing along to familiar songs and make requests. Tyler also plans to record the concert so neighbors can share with their friends and loved ones online.Creative Neighborhoods: COVID-19 Work Projects was launched by the Office of Arts + Culture and Create Boulder: https://boulderarts.org/public-art/creative-neighborhoods/covid-19-work-projects/
B
Okay,
so
my
name
is
tyler
vanolla.
I
am
a
vocal
performance,
major
at
cu
boulder.
So
far
what
I've
been
doing
is
performing
for
both
the
community
and
my
school.
I
enjoy
giving
back
to
people
and
that's
one
of
the
reasons
why
I'm
so
happy
to
do
this
summer
project
and
I
based
it
off
of
the
ideas
of
unity
and
love.
B
Kobit
19
has
created
quite
a
few
issues
for
me
as
a
performer.
Most
notably,
it
has
become
almost
impossible
to
give
live
performances
because
of
the
distance
required
for
safety
reasons,
and
on
top
of
that,
it
has
affected
both
work.
For
me,
both
I've
been
working,
two
jobs
and
both
of
them
went
on
brief
hiatuses
one
is
still
currently
on
a
hiatus.
B
On
top
of
that,
my
living
situation
had
a
change.
I
wasn't
able
to
live
at
my
apartment
anymore,
because
I
didn't
have
a
steady
income
and
I
has
also
affected
my
relations
with
my
family
as
well
and
friends.
Of
course,
you
know
not
being
able
to
interact
with
those
closest
to.
You
is
quite
a
difficult
thing.
A
Definitely,
I'm
very
sorry
to
hear
all
of
that.
It's
been
very
tough,
I'm
sure,
but
you
have
obviously
been
awarded
a
coven
19
work
project.
Stipend.
Would
you
mind
just
briefly
telling
me
about
the
project
and
how
it
can
promote
connectivity
in
your
neighborhood
yeah.
B
A
Amazing
that
is
so
fun,
that's
beautiful.
So,
finally,
is
there
anything
else
you'd
like
to
share.
B
Oh
some
things
that
I'd
like
to
share
is
that
there
is
always
love
wherever
you
need
to
find
it.
So
I
know
that
during
this
time
it
is
really
hard
for
a
lot
of
people
to
be
in
this
position
of
solitude,
and
I
just
want
people
to
know
that
there
is
support
there
is
love
and
also
that
there
are
tons
of
people,
especially
in
this
boulder
area.
B
That
is
more
than
happy
to
accommodate,
to
show
love
and
affection
to
anyone
who
needs
that
there
are
many
of
my
colleagues
who
have
also
been
doing
this
covid
work
project.
So
I
would
encourage
you
to
check
out
all
as
many
different
concerts
and
performances
and
art
and
experience
all
that
you
can,
because
there
is
still
a
lot
going
on,
even
though
it
doesn't
seem
always
so.
