Accessible Trails Intro with Spanish Text
A
Over
a
decade
ago,
I
co-wrote
a
trail
guide
for
people
with
disabilities
in
the
boulder
area.
We
based
our
maps
and
descriptions
on
the
universal
access
guidelines.
We
looked
at
width
of
the
trail,
slope,
cross,
slope,
service
type
and
any
other
possible
barriers
with
other
federal
guidelines
and
regulations.
Coming
into
the
picture,
we've
decided
the
best
way
to
show
users
with
disabilities.
What
they're
getting
into
is
through
video
will
make
short
videos
of
each
accessible
trail
and
post
them
on
our
OS
MP
website.
Here's
a
few
testimonials
see
you
out
on
the
trails
I.
B
Was
born
with
the
a
disability
called
several
posi
as
I
grow
older
I've
me
use
different
ways
of
getting
around
my
husband
and
I
loved,
walk
together,
love
the
beauty
of
Colorado.
We
always
find
a
reason
to
hike
in
great.
C
Outdoors
the
trail
we're
on
one.
Our
lake
is
great
just
because
it's
bright
in
the
city
and
it's
close
to
where
I
live,
and
it
still
feels
like
you're
out
of
nature.
I
enjoy
coming
to
these
trails
mr.
flat,
and
easy
to
walk
on
when
you're
pregnant
and
can't
hike
the
hard
stuff.
And
it's
great
for
me
to
bring
sadie
my
dog
since
she's.
D
Older,
I
have
ehlers-danlos
syndrome,
which
is
a
genetic
ligament
disorder
that,
where
my
body
doesn't
actually
have
the
protein
collagen
in
the
ligaments,
so
it
causes
me
to
dislocate
all
my
joints.
Just
from
doing
simple
movements
like
walking
ever
since
I
got
put
in
my
wheelchair
I've
been
able
to
actually
go
on
adventures
with
my
dogs
I,
like.
E
You
know,
I,
always
it
kind
of
gets
rid
of
all
the
stress
yeah.
You
leave
the
all
that
behind
and
he
just
kind
of
opens
in
mind.
I've.
F
Been
in
border
about
seven
years
now,
I
came
out
here
for
school
and
for
the
outdoors
for
the
mountain
biking,
mainly
I
love
this
town
I'm.
You
know
dudes
it's
great,
because
she's
nestled
right
up
against
the
mountains,
but
you
have
the
planes
out
east,
that's
cool,
because
there's
wildlife,
all
around
the
city
of
borders
has
done
a
great
job
of
preserving
a
lot
of
it,
as
well
as
putting
in
these
past,
where
I
can
actually
get
out
in
a
wheelchair
to
places
that
you
wouldn't
think
are
accessible.
