A
A
Welcome
to
inside
Boulder
news
your
source
for
all
things:
Boulder
I'm,
Jocelyn,
Navan,
Daniel,
the
housing
Legacy
program
facilitates
the
donation
or
bequest
of
Builders
homeowners
wishing
to
leave
a
legacy
of
affordable
home
ownership
for
the
Next
Generation
in
May
of
2017
jamisalazo,
a
tireless
volunteer
for
the
city
and
creator
of
housing.
Legacy
was
the
first
to
commit
to
donate
her
home
to
the
program
nearly
three
years
later.
Another
long
time,
Boulder
resident
and
former
mayor
has
followed
suit.
We
spoke
to
senior
housing
manager,
Jay
Sunnet,
to
learn
more
about
this
program.
A
B
A
C
Like
a
boulder
that
has
a
diverse
population
and
a
worry
that
that
is
Vanishing
and
will
continue
to
vanish,
and-
and
so
you
know,
we
saw
this
as
an
opportunity
to
kind
of
repay
the
community
for
all
the
wonderful
years
we've
had
here.
My
main
goal
here
is
to
encourage
those
of
you
who
find
yourself
in
similar
positions
to
think
about
doing
something
similar.
A
When
a
homeowner
supports
the
program,
they
are
investing
in
the
future
of
a
diverse
and
affordable
Community.
A
plan
to
give
to
the
housing
Legacy
program
is
a
powerful
expression
of
support
for
the
future
of
Boulders
Community
Jason
at
senior
housing
manager
with
the
city
of
Boulder
explains
how
this
program
works.
The.
D
Way
it
works
is
a
homeowner
places,
an
interim
Covenant
on
the
property
to
restrict
the
future
sales
price
of
the
home
and
requires
the
home
to
be
sold
through
the
city's
permanently
affordable
homes
program.
So,
at
the
same
time,
the
homeowner
amends
their
will
indicating
that
the
home
is
to
be
deed,
restricted
upon
any
future
sale
unless
just
to
be
super
clear
for
future
potential
errors.
What
your
intentions
are,
so
the
city
does
not
own
the
home.
Rather,
the
city
ensures
that
the
home
remains
affordable
through
a.
A
Covenant
City
staff
managed
to
sell
of
all
homes
in
the
program
to
ensure
the
Covenant
is
enforced
staff.
Also
income
and
asset
qualify
all
potential
program,
buyer
participants.
At
the
time
of
sale.
There
is
typically
a
fair
selection
process
to
randomly
select
the
buyer.
Due
to
the
high
demand
for
the
program
for

information

the

Legacy
program.

A
The
city
is
launching
Boulder
Junction
phase,
two,
a
project
Guided
by
the
transit
Village
area
plan
in
one
of
City
council's
priority
projects
as
phase
two
Begins,
the
city
of
Boulder
would
like
to
form
focus
groups
to
provide
their
feedback
and
expertise.
Let's
take
a
look
in
2007,
the
city
of
Boulder,
completed
the
transit
Village
area
plan
outlining
the
future
for
Boulder
Junction,
a
160
acre
area
located
in
the
geographic
center
of
boulder
around
30th
Street,
Pearl,
Street,
Belmont,
Road
and
Foothills
Parkway
phase.
A
E
Part
of
the
project
kickoff,
the
city
is
currently
looking
for
future
focus
group
members
and
we
really
encourage
people
to
submit
your
interest
in
becoming
a
focus
group
member.
So
our
initial
Community
engagement
efforts
will
involve
forming
several
different
focus
groups,
who
represent
different
constituent
types,
to
ensure
a
broad
range
of
stakeholders
and
Community
representatives
are
involved
in
the
project
and
to
ensure
that
we
get
a
variety
of
viewpoints,
expertise
and
experience.
A
Community
members
interested
in
participating
in
the
focus
group
can
fill
out
an
interest
form
on
the
website.

impacted
in

Junction
or

knowledge
of
local
land
