A
Meanwhile,
statewide
cases
stand
at
over
38
155
and
1744
deaths.
On
july,
13th
25
covet
19
cases
were
reported
to
boulder
county
public
health.
This
is
the
highest
one-day
new
case
increase
since
the
spike
in
kova
19
cases
in
mid-june,
which
was
attributed
primarily
to
big
gatherings.
Until
recently,
there
had
been
a
steady
plateau
of
new
cases
averaging
at
12
to
13
per
day
before
the
spike.
In
mid-june,
there
were
only
about
five
new
positive
tests
among
boulder
county
residents
reported
each
day.
Covet-Related
hospitalizations
have
also
been
increasing
within
the
region.
A
This
week
marked
the
largest
one-day
increase
in
hospitalization
since
mid-april,
for
both
the
denver
metro
region
and
the
state
boulder
county

A
Due
to
the
increase
in
current
coven
19
cases,
colorado
governor
jared
polis
issued
an
executive
order
on
july
16
mandating
that
all
coloradans
wear
face
coverings
inside
indoor
public
spaces,
beginning
july
17th
all
individuals
over
the
age
of
10
must
wear
face
covering
over
their
nose
and
mouth
when
entering
or
moving
within
any
public

space
and
while

or

public
or

transportation
services.
Colorado.
B
Is
not
yet
a
hot
spot,
the
whole
country
is
showing
a
significant
uptick
in
colorado
has
not
been
an
exception
from
that
trend,
and
we
need
to
make
sure
that
we
take
actions
that
prevent
colorado
from
being
an
uptick
situation.
Take
this
virus
for
granted
the
minute
we
do.
B
A
Order
is
effective
for
at
least
30
days.
Those
who
do
not
comply
with
the
executive
order
may
be
subject
to
civil
or
criminal
penalties.

development
and
growth
in
boulder
are
guided
by
the
boulder
valley,
comprehensive
plan.
The
city
has
been
working
over
the
past
year
to
incorporate
land
use,
changes
to
the
boulder
vice
code
to
better
line
it
with
the
boulder
valley
comprehensive
plan.
Some
of
these
changes
include
the
use
table
and
standards,
as
well
as
community
benefit.
A
The
city
of
boulder
continues
to
review
and
update
the
city's
land
use
code
consistent
with
council's
directive
and
the
boulder
valley
comprehensive
plan.
While
the
city
has
several
code
changes
underway,
there
are
two
primary
code
change
projects
that
the
city
hopes
to
complete
by
the
end
of
the
year.
C
There's
the
community
benefit
project
and
the
use,
standards
and
table
project.
Those
projects
have
been
underway
for
several
years
now,
and
the
first
community
benefit
one.
We
did
phase
one
we're
now
in
phase
two,
so
this
is
really
looking
at
you
know
what
kind
of
requirements
or
incentives
would
apply
to
projects
that
build
over
the
zoning
district
height
limit.
This.
A
Project
will
primarily
consider
updates
to
section
9-2-14
or
site
review
of
the
land
use
code.
One
of
the
intended
outcomes
of
this
change
includes
expanding
the
community
benefit
program
by
adding
new
land
use
intensity
modification
criteria
for
community
benefits
beyond
permanently
affordable
housing.
C
We're
basically
looking
at
three
particular
benefits
so
below
market
rate.
Commercial
rent
is
something
that
we're
looking
at
we're
looking
at
space
for
art
and
cultural
uses,
and
we're
also
looking
at
space
for
like
social
services.

A
Community
members
are
also
encouraged
to
visit
the
city's
be
heard
boulder
site
where
a
questionnaire
will
be
available
for
individuals
to
provide
feedback
on
these
projects.
Last
year,
the
city
of
boulder
kicked
off
its
sub-community
planning
project
in
east
boulder.
When
complete
the
plan
will
help
the
city
implement
major
goals
of
the
boulder
valley,
comprehensive
plan
by
helping
the
boulder
community
communicate
their
expectations
for
the
future.
A
Recently,
the
city
launched
a
questionnaire
to
gather
community
input
on
draft
vision,
statements
that
describe
how
boulder
valley,
comprehensive
plan
goals
should
be
applied
to
east
boulder.
These
vision
statements
will
guide
decision
making
and
shape
general
objectives
and
strategies
that
will
be
detailed,
as
the
full
plan
is
developed.
Community
members
are
encouraged
to
complete
the
questionnaire
on
the
city's
b
heart
boulder
webpage.
It
will
be
available
until
august
31st.
A
The
plan
is
expected
to
be
completed
in
2021
and
is
the
first
of
ten
subcommittees
to
go
through
this
process.

Seen
on
your
screen,
the
city
of
boulder
cannot
tackle
climate
change
alone,
collaborating
locally
and
internationally.
Boulder
has
helped
to
develop
a
number
of
initiatives
that
are
pioneering
new
approaches
to
ecosystem-based
carbon
management,
many
of
which
create
new
opportunities
for
community
action.
We
spoke
to
brett
and
karen
with
the
city's
climate
initiatives
team
to
learn
about
four
current
initiatives.
A
The
community
can
take
part
in
the
city
has
launched
new
local
actions
to
support
our
ecosystems,
and
the
community
is
encouraged
to
participate.
The
city
is
always
working
to
identify
actions
that
support
our
land,
have
a
positive
impact
on
our
climate
and
address
the
vulnerabilities
of
those
for
whom
climate
change
poses
the
highest
risk.
The
first
of
four
initiatives
the
community
can
take
part
in
is
grow
and
give
boulder
a
statewide
initiative
sponsored
by
the
colorado
state
university
extension.
D
The
whole
premise
of
this
is
hey
if
you've
got
a
garden
and
you're
growing
food
and
you've
got
surplus.
Can
you
share
that
with
those
who
might
have
a
food
need
right
now
and
we're
our
goal
is
to
get
200
households
or
200
gardens
signed
into
this
program
and
generate
something
in
the
order
of
two
thousand
to
three
thousand
pounds
of
food
into
that
food
security
network.
D
So
we've
actually
created
these
little
grow
kits
that
we
can
give
to
elders
where
they
can
use
it
even
on
their
kitchen
table
and
sprout
up
and
grow
to
their
initial
planting
stage,
pollinator
plants
that
this
fall
will
collect
back
from
them
and
go
start
to
plant
out
in
these
corridors
of
pollinator
habitat
across
town.
We
need
a
lot
of
plants
out
there
and,
by
the
way,
just
we're
just
that
little
subgroup
we're
thinking
we'll
grow,
something
like
2000
plus
plants
for
this
work.
The
third.
D
D
So
the
idea
is
really
interesting
and
fairly
simple.
They
create
a
program
in
which
restaurateurs
add
a
one
percent
charge
to
the
bills
and
that
one
percent
goes
into
a
fund
that
then
can
be
invested
back
into
farming
initiatives
in
our
area
that
are
actually
doing
that
kind
of
regenerative
and
carbon
farming
type
of
work.
