Boulder
property
owners,
landlords
and
tenants
are
responsible
for
clearing
snow
and
ice
from
their
sidewalks
within
24
hours
after
snow
stops
falling.
If
the
snow
isn't
removed,
it
can
result
in
fines

payment
for
a

to
clear
the
sidewalks.
The
goal
is
a
good
one
to
make
travel
safe
for
everyone,
but
for
some
residents,
especially
those
who
are
older
or
disabled.
This
poses
a
special
challenge.
That's
where
Boulder
County's
ice
Buster's
program
comes
in.

D
An
incredibly
rewarding
experience,
you
know
you
have
the
opportunity
to
have
a
real
impact
on
the
city,
so
you
know
the
idea
is
that
you
bring
and
the
work
that
you
do
and
the
decisions
that
you're
Board
makes
really
affects
what
happens
in
the
city
in
the
future.
Now
I
just
really
encourage
you
to
get
involved.
It's
a
great
way
to
participate
in
in,
what's
going
on
in
the
city,
Boulder.

This
week
the
boulder
Economic
Council
held
the
2016
economic
forecast,
the
sold-out
event
featured
keynote
speaker,
Richard
wilbekin,
the
chief
economist
from
see
use,
lead
School
of
Business,
and
this
year
the
picture
is
looking
pretty
good.
Well,.
F
In
general,
this
the
economy
at
the
state
level
and
certainly
comes
down
to
the
boulder
level,
continues
to
run
at
a
very
good
pace.
We've
seen
a
lot
of
health
in
many
sectors,
including
the
high-tech
sector,
which
is
extremely
important
to
the
boulder
economy,
but
in
a
broader
set
of
sectors
as
well,
including
things
like
tourism,
which
so
has
an
impact
on
the
boulder
economy.
So
we're
seeing
general
strength,
which
is
a
really
positive
sign
with
the
strength,
comes
some
concerns.
F
There's
a
set
of
concerns
that
relate
to
bowl
has
been
growing
so
rapidly
in
people's
minds
that
you
know
we
should
be
slowing
down
our
growth
or
stopping
our
growth
or
figuring
out
ways
to
do
that,
and,
and
that's
difficult
with
an
economy,
because
it's
always
going
to
Evan
flow
and
there
have
been
long
periods.
What
we
didn't
have
any
growth.
So
you
know
you
have
more
rapid
periods,
but
you
have
much
slower
periods,
but
then,
with
more
rapid
growth,
you
have
the
concerns
of
things
like
higher
cost
of
living.

in
2015
resource
set
a
record
for
diverting
over
3.8
million
pounds
of
building
materials
from
the
landfill.
The
building
materials,
donation
and
reuse
facility
located
in
east
boulder
is
sponsored
by
the
city
of
Boulder
and
is
a
key
partner
in
the
effort
to
achieve
the
community's
zero
waste
goals.
So.
E
You
know
we
have
a
lot
of
construction
debris
in
the
landfill
here
in
Boulder.
County
construction
debris
is
about
thirty
percent
of
the
waste
stream
here
in
Boulder,
so
you
know
our
3.8
million
pounds
that
we
diverted
in
2015.
That's
a
huge
impact
on
that.
So
the
conservation
aspect
is
one
part
of
it,
but
also
giving
these
great
deals
to
people
is
also
another
part.
We
can
have
people,
you
know
from
low
income
communities
coming
in
here
and
getting
a
cabinet
set.
That
would
be
a
twenty-thousand-dollar
cabinet
set
for
about.
E
G
To
get
this
all
on
my
Prius
well
I'm
over
here
picking
up
materials
that
I
found
here
at
the
resource
place
to
incorporate
into
our
sustainable
Smart
Home
Living,
Learning
Center
in
old
town,
superior
I
believe
in
recycling,
of
course,
since
I
meant
to
sustainability
and
alternative
energy.
So
any
thing
that
I
can
keep
out
of
the
landfill
or
reuse
I
think
is
a
good
use
of
materials.
I
don't
want
to
tell
too
many
people
about
this,
because
then
I
won't
be
able
to
find
this
stuff.
G
I
need,
but
there's
a
lot
of
cool
stuff
here.
It
just
takes
a
little
perseverance
and
on
a
regular
basis,
because
it
keeps
changing
all
the
time
and
I
guess
my
advice
would
be
is
if
you
see
something
that
you
might
want
to
use
buy
it
then,
because
you'll
come
back
and
be
gone
because
I've
done
that
too.
