A
Welcome
to
inside
boulder
news
your
source
for
all
things
boulder,
I'm
jocelyn,
navendano
colorado
received
its
very
first
shipment
of
the
kofi
19
vaccine
this
week.
A
hopeful
step
forward
in
the
battle
against
the
pandemic.
Scientists
have
developed
several
possible
vaccines
to
provide
immunity
to
covet
19..
Two
pharmaceutical
companies
have
received
emergency
use
authorization
by
the
fda.
A
The
first
was
received
in
colorado
on
december
14th.
However,
not
everyone
will
receive
the
vaccine
all
at
once
to
slow
the
spread
for
everyone.
Healthcare
workers
and
coloradans,
who
are
at
most
risk
for
getting
severely
sick
or
even
dying
of
coven
19
will
get
inoculated.
First,
the
covet
19
vaccine
will
be
administered
in
three
phases
with
the
last
phase
plan
for
the
summer
of
2021,
which
includes
the
general
public,
who
have
no
high
risk
conditions.
In
the
meantime,
the
community
should
continue
to
use
basic
health
guidelines,
such
as
wearing
a
mask.
A
More
information
is
available
on
the
website.
Seen
on
your
screen,
celebrating
the
holidays
in
the
middle
of
a
pandemic
comes
with
challenges.
Currently,
one
in
40
people
in
colorado
has
kova
19,
which
is
why
the
cdc
and
local
health
officials
recommend
celebrating
winter
holidays
differently
this
year,
whether
you're
lighting
candles
or
stringing
lights
on
a
tree,
the
winter
holidays
come
with
plenty
of
magic.
Staying
safe.
This
year
doesn't
have
to
take
any
of
that
away.
A
Health
officials
are
asking
the
community
to
consider
a
celebration
that
keeps
your
loved
ones
close
in
spirit,
even
if
you're,
physically
apart
host
a
virtual
caroling
party
over
video
chat,
write
holiday
cards
to
friends
and
family
video
chat
or
talk
on
the
phone
with
friends
and
family
who
don't
live
with.
You
exchange
photos
of
your
holiday,
decorations
dishes
and
outfits
with
friends
and
family
via
text,
message
or
email
simultaneously.
A
Watch
your
favorite
holiday
movie
with
family
and
friends
in
other
households
over
video
chat
watch,
the
baw
drop
on
tv
on
new
year's
eve
cook
and
bake,
treats
for
your
neighbors
friends
and
family
then
deliver
them
in
a
way
that
doesn't
involve
face-to-face
contact,
mail
or
deliver
gifts
to
your
neighbors
friends
and
family
in
a
way
that
doesn't
involve
face-to-face
contact.
You
can
video
chat
with
them
later,
as
they
open
their
present
and
watch
their
faces.

A
B
B
This
will
be
a
very
much
a
working
panel,
so
these
you
know
if
you're
interested
in
applying
you
know
you'll
need
to
understand
the
amount
of
time
that
you'll
be
committing
to
it'll,
be
not
only
one
public
meeting
a
month,
but
also
probably
a
couple
of
meetings
a
month
to
review
the
case
files
and
that
could
be
on
short
notice.
And
so
you
know
we
need
folks
who
will
be
committed
to
this.
A
B
By
having
members
of
the
public
involved
in
the
disciplinary
process
and
to
be
able
to
see
the
the
facts
and
the
evidence
up
close,
it
gives
the
public
that
level
that
insight
into
what
actually
happened.
Having
that
level
of
transparency,
I
think
helps
to
cut
down
on
disputes
over
facts,
then
kind
of
helps
us
get
to
a
discussion
of
what
the
policy
should
be.
A
A
Earlier
this
month,
the
boulder
police
department
announced
that
one
of
their
very
own
had
received
the
highest
award
from
the
special
olympics.
Not
only
was
he
chosen
out
of
15
international
candidates,
but
he
is
the
only
the
second
colorado
officer
ever
chosen
for
this
award.
We
spoke
to
sergeant
dave
zepper
this
week
to
learn
more
about
his
recognition.
A
Sergeant,
dave
sieber
has
been
with
the
boulder
police
department
for
38
years,
while
dedicating
his
time
to
law
enforcement.
Sergeant
sieper
has
also
shared
his
time
of
the
special
olympic
athletes.
During
a
virtual
award
ceremony
earlier
this
month,
zippy
received
the
hall
of
fame
award
for
his
35
years
of
continued
volunteer
service
to
the
program.
It's.
C
A
C
One
of
the
things
that
that
brings
it
home
is
actually
the
special
olympic
athlete
both,
which
is,
let
me
win,
but
if
I
cannot
win,
let
me
be
brave
in
the
attempt
and
I
gotta
tell
you.
I
knew
then
that
I
wanted
to
be
part
of
that
brave
attempt,
their
dedication
to
succeed
and
their
sportsmanship
on
that
field
was
inspiring
and
it
is
inspiring,
as
of
today.
