you're
invited
to
an
open

to
get
the
first

at
park

for
the

Civic

based
on
community
input
and
direction
from

the

what
they

is
the

You

the
most
successful

that
we
can
move
towards
construction
in
2016.

the

becoming
a
more
resilient
community.
The
city
would
like
your
feedback
on
strengths
and
weaknesses.
A
Boulder
is
one
of
the
first
32
cities
chosen
to
participate
in
100
resilient
cities,
a
program
pioneered
by
the
rockefeller
foundation
dedicated
to
building
resilience
worldwide.
The
boulder
resiliency
survey
will
give
city
officials
a
general
understanding
of
how
the
public
perceives
resilience
beyond
shocks
like
the
2013
flood.
The.
C
Flood
is
very
much
in
people
of
minds
right
now,
but
the
way
that
we
think
about
it
in
terms
of
100
resilient
cities
is
a
much
broader
concept
that
includes
social
resilience
and
economic
resilience.
What
are
we
doing
well
in
terms
of
our
economy?
Are
we
prepared
for
the
next
economic
downturn?
Do
people
find
affordable
housing
available
for
them
in
Boulder?
So
these
are
the
sort
of
issues
that
we're
going
to
be
trying
to
assess
through
the
survey
and
and
move
forward,
trying
to
identify
some
solutions
that
work
for
everybody
in
the
community
visit.
A
Resilient
Boulder
calm
to
take
the
survey
between
now
and
march
forth.
The
survey
is
divided
into
three
parts
and
should
take
less
than
10
minutes
to
complete
answers
will
remain
anonymous
unless
you
choose
to
provide
your
contact
information
at
the
end.
After
conducting
a
robust
community
engagement
process,
including
pop-up,
chats
at
the
rec
centers,
an
online
survey
and
community
meetings,
the
conversation
about
the
aquatic
feasibility
plan
continues.
Staff
met
with
the
person
recreation
advisory
board
this
week
to
discuss
options
based
on
the
feedback
received
over
the
past
several
months
from
the
public.
We're.
D
Excited
that,
with
our
existing
funding
as
a
result
of
the
community's
approval
with
eighty
percent
or
more
of
our
point,
25
cent
sales
tax,
we
can
really
address
some
of
the
deferred
maintenance
in
our
facilities
and
modernize
them.
So
with
our
existing
funding,
we
can
really
green
our
pools.
We
can
reduce
our
chlorine
load
and
improve
the
air
quality
and
water
quality.
So
we're
really
excited
about
that
opportunity
and
then,
with
some
additional
funding,
we
do
have
opportunities
to
enhance
the
experience
at
summer.
Are
fools?
D
Are
laser
leisure
features
at
both
east
and
north
are
pretty
outdated,
and
so,
with
some
additional
funding,
we
could
update
those.
There
are
needs
expressed
from
the
community
that
we
can't
meet
with
existing
funding.
The
community
has
expressed
a
desire
for
more
lap
swimming.
We
have
a
strong
lap
swimming
community,
there's
also
a
desire
for
a
location
where
we
could
host
competitive
swimming
events
such
as
high
school
swim,
meets
synchronized,
swimming
competitions,
water
polo
teams,
and
we
don't
have
that
in
our
community
and
it
would
require
a
significant
investment
to
build
a
new
facility.

E
These
are
local
volunteers
and
that's
the
best
part
about
it.
They're
really
invested
in
their
community
and
their.
They
spend
their
time
working
on
these
issues.
The
ultimate
goal
is
just
to
have
the
local
community
participating
more
in
their
city
government
and
maybe
lowering
the
bar,
so
that's
easier
for
them
to
do
like.
Maybe
they
can't
always
go
to
a
planning
committee
and
hear
what's
going
on
in
their
City
and
if
they
can
do
it
somewhere
online
or
you
know,
lower
the
bar
for
that
interaction.
That
would
be
the
ultimate
outcome.
Boulder.

a
real
strong
commitment
to
public
participation
in
our
decision-making
processes
and
envisioned
in
our
future
and
making
things
happen
and
we're
trying
a
lot
of
different
ways
in
which
we're
engaging
with
the
community,
and
this
seems
like
a
great
opportunity
to
bring
in
some
fresh
ideas-
and
you
know
we
know
that
there's
a
lot
of
people
who
don't
have
the
time
to
come
down
to
our
meetings
and
participate
in.
Maybe
some
of
them
are
traditional
format.
So
this
is,
will
hopefully
create
some
new
formats
that
are
accessible
to
a
large
number
of
people.

Number
one
place
where
fires
to
start
in
the
home
are
in
the
kitchen,
so
with
children
we
did
encourage
people
to
be
really
mindful
of
when
they're
cooking,
especially
hot
water,
in
the
stove
anything
in
the
oven,
and
now
that
it's
warming
up
people
are
going
to
be
grilling,
and
so
children,
of
course,
are
gonna,
be
running
around
so
anything
that
parents
can
do
to
keep
their
children
safe.
When
they're
cooking
I
think
will
help
decrease
burn
injuries.
You
know
if
we
can
decrease
one
burn
injury.
We've
done
our
job.
Another.
A
H
Take
at-risk
kids,
who
have
had
either
short
or
long
history
of
starting
fires
through
being
mischievous
or
or
in
their
intent,
was
to
start
fires
or
whatever,
and
so
we
talked
with
them
with
the
counselors
and
explain
to
them.
You
know
the
harm
that
that
these
actions
can
do
to
property
lives
and
that
sort
of
thing
Boulder.
A
I
G
We're
up
there
we
interact
with
children
that
are
burn
survivors
from
all
across
the
nation
and
during
that
week,
they're
at
camp
there
with
other
children
that
are
survivors
of
varying
degrees
of
burn
injuries
and
while
they're
there
they
can
be
a
normal
kid
and
not
be
self-conscious
about
their
scars.
They're
able
to
talk
to
other
kids
who've
been
through
what
they
have
because
I
think
unless
you've
been
through
it.
You
really
can't
understand
the
emotional,
the
physical,
the
toll
it
can
take
on
somebody.
