A
C
Is
the
35th
anniversary
of
Pearl
Street
Mall
people
have
asked
them
all
around
the
country.
Why
is
Pearl
Street
a
success
and
I?
Don't
think
there's
any
one
reason
but
I
know
it's
a
combination
of
great
retailers,
great
city,
the
mountains,
the
university,
the
weather
I
mean
it.
Is
it's
a
hard
to
duplicate
combination?
You.
A
Can
check
out
all
that
Pearl
Street
has
to
offer
by
walking
the
pedestrian
mall
or
visiting
Boulder
downtown
com
for
food,
music
and
upcoming
events.
Pearl
street
will
be
a
popular
spot
for
spectators
when
the
USA
Pro
Cycling
Challenge
comes
through
boulder
on
august
twenty
fifth
and
in
a
town
full
of
cyclists.
It's
no
surprise
that
some
pro
cycling
writers
call
Boulder
their
home.
Here's
a
look
at
how
Boulder
professionals
are
preparing
for
the
big
race.
You.
D
E
A
E
Rice
had
to
come
here,
you
know
like
it
didn't
make
it
here
last
year,
but
you
know
cycling
is
such
a
strong
sport
here
in
Boulder
and
there's
so
many
riders
out
here,
and
I
think
the
stage
that
we're
going
to
have
finishing
up
on
flagstaff.
It's
just
going
to
be
one
of
those
stages
that
we're
going
to
remember
for,
for
our
whole
crews,
I
come.
D
Here,
every
every
couple
days
to
kind
of
check
out
the
course
and
do
my
training
here
and
starting
to
get
a
bit
more
goosebumps
every
time.
I
come
up
thinking
about
the
race
and
thinking
about
how
many
people
are
going
to
be
out
here,
supporting
all
the
riders
and
just
the
excitement
that's
going
on
about
it.
The.
A
F
D
Community,
he
is
obviously
very
bike.
Friendly
we've
got
so
many
black
lanes
in
such
a
great
place
to
ride
a
bike.
You
know.
We've
we've
obviously
got
this
fantastic
Mountain
right
here
in
town
that
we're
going
to
be
racing
up,
and
you
know
people
can
come
out
and
they
can.
They
can
ride
their
bikes
where
the
professional
riders
are
going
to
be
racing
up
as
well.
I
think
it's
going
to
be
a
pretty
pretty
exciting
event
for
the
community
and
for
us,
as
riders
and
local
riders.
Both.
A
Ben
and
Rory
say
they
are
looking
forward
to
the
overwhelming
community
support
expected
on
August
25th,
while
downtown
will
be
a
great
venue
for
cheering
on
the
boulder
cyclists
and
the
rest
of
the
USA
pro
riders
organizers
know.
Some
will
want
to
watch
the
athletes
make
the
dramatic
climb
up.
Flagstaff
Mountain
special
wristbands
are
now
available
for
access
to
the
mountain
on
race
day.
Spectators
at
the
Flagstaff
finish
will
be
required
to
wear
a
wristband
that
lists
the
rules
of
the
city
of
boulders
code
of
conduct.
A
The
rules
were
created
to
avoid
impacts
to
Flagstaff's
land
and
Wildlife.
Wristbands
are
free
and
are
available
at
select
locations.
Around
Boulder
members
of
the
community
will
have
an
opportunity
to
tell
council
what
they
think
about
possible
ballot
initiatives
that
could
go
before
voters.
This
fall.
Two
of
the
measures
have
gained
a
lot
of
attention.
The
first
is
a
proposed
extension
of
the
climate
action
plan
tax.
This
tax
raises
money
to
pay
for
energy
efficiency
and
conservation
programs
and
the
incentives.
A
The
second
is
a
possible
renewal
of
a
25
cent
sales
tax
that
is
currently
dedicated
for
Parks
and
Recreation.
Council
will
be
discussing
whether
to
ask
voters
to
keep
this
tax
money
earmarked
entirely
for
parks
or
allow
some
or
all
of
it,
to
be
used
for
other
city
expenses
when
necessary.
The
public
hearings
will
be
held
during
the
council
meeting,
which
starts
at
6pm
on
Tuesday
teachers
from
the
boulder
valley
and
st.
vrain
valley.
A
School
districts
learned
how
to
test
for
water
quality
this
week,
but
this
time,
not
from
the
classroom,
teachers
got
into
boulder
creek
for
the
13th
annual
get
to
know
your

to
a
workshop
where
they
learned
how
to
test
for
water
quality
and
aquatic
insects.
Its
knowledge
that
they
plan
to
incorporate
into
their
curriculum
the.
G
Hands-On
workshop,
the
two-day
workshop,
please
get
credit
for
it
through
the
Colorado
School
of
Mines
if
they
can
actually
go
out
and
they
teach
their
students
about
water.
So
we
train
them
how
to
be
watered
ambassadors
for
the
city
of
Boulder,
Boulder
County
to
go
out
and
teach
about
water
in
their
pocket.
Get.
