This

former

is
now
the
site
of
the
Museum
of
Boulder.
We'll
give
you
an
update
on
how
things
are
going.
City
Council
will
meet
next
week
and
discuss
boulders
homeless
and
strategy
and
Boulder
parking

are
giving
shoppers
a
pleasant
surprise.
A
Welcome
to
inside
boulder
news
your
source
for
all
things:
Boulder
I'm
Joslyn
Daniel.
Last
month,
city
staff
moved
forward
to
implement
recommendations
from
community
led
public
participation
working
group.
These
community
members
evaluated
the
city's
existing
methods
for
public
engagement
and
suggested
ways.
The
city
could
better
involve
its
residents.
The
new
engagement
framework
is
designed
to
improve
and
clarify
the
process
for
residents.
We
caught
up
with
Engagement
Manager
Sarah
Huntley.
To
talk
more
about
the
new
engagement
framework
implementation.

You
have
a
number
of
steps,
including
creating
a
public
engagement
plan.
Any
engagement
work
in
the
city
of
Boulder
in
2018
will
have
a
strategic
plan
attached
to
it.
That
strives
to
include
many
voices,
more
voices,
hopefully
than
we
have
in
the
past,
and
also
really
tries
to
make
engagement,
convenient
and
easy
for
participants.
The.
B
Tough
decisions
will
have
to
be
made,
but
we
hope
that
people
who
have
different
viewpoints
will
feel
like
they've
been
heard
and
their
voices
have
been
incorporated
in
the
consideration
and
deliberation.
So
what's
next,
the
public
can
expect
to
see
in
2018
is
more
consistency,
a
real
concerted
effort
to
bring
more
voices
to
the
table
so
greater
inclusivity,
as
well
as
improvement
to
online
tools,
so
that
people
have
the
ability
to
interact
and
engage
with
us
on
their
schedule
in
a
way
that's
convenient
for.

City
Council
approved
the
city
of
Boulder
homelessness
strategy.
The
strategy
focuses
on
long-term
solution
to
homelessness,
with
housing
being
the
primary
goal.
At
the
December
5th
council
meeting,
City
Council
will
meet
again
to
discuss
some
changes
to
the
current
shelter
management
plan.
We
spoke
to
Wendy
Schwartz
with
human
services
to
talk
more
about
the
upcoming
council
meeting.
A
Some
of
the
changes
being
proposed
to
the
management
plan
include
your
own
shelter
for
qualified
clients,
people
that
qualify
for
shelter
services
through
the
programs,
coordinated
entry
system
would
have
the
option
to
stay
until
they're
housed.
Another
change
being
proposed
includes
qualified
clients
being
able
to
stay
at
the
shelter
during
the
day
and.

This
week,
Boulder
residents
gathered
at
the
West
Senior
Center
for
the
city's
open
house
for
building
a
safe,
welcoming
and
inclusive
community.
The
city
got
feedback
and
ideas
from
the
community
on
the
recommendations
presented
in
the
community
perceptions
assessment,
which
was
released
in
May
of
this
year.
The
open
house
had
multiple
stations
in
which
participants
spoke
with
other
community
members,
organizations
that
promoted
inclusion
and
diversity
and
talked
with
city
staff
as
well.

The
corner
of
Broadway
and
Pine
Street
will
soon
be
the
16
thousand
square
foot
home
of
the
Museum
of
Boulder.
The
state
of
the
art
museum
will
include
everything
related
to
builders,
past
present
and
future
and
will
be
home
to
world-class
traveling
exhibits.
We
went
inside
for
a
sneak
peek
this
week
and
spoke
with
the
museum's
executive
director,
Nancy
Guyer,
for
an
update
on
the
museum's
construction.
For
many
years
the
Boulder
History
Museum
operated
in
the
historic,
our
big
house
on
University
Hill
coming
spring
2018.

A
All
of
this,
this
three-story
museum
will
have
a
lower-level
dedicated
to
builders,
youngest
residents,
where
there
will
be
a
children's
museum
space.
The
main
level
will
have
the
reception
area
in
the
large
gallery
where
the
traveling
exhibits
will
be
displayed,
and
then
the
upper
level
will
be
everything
Boulder,
a
gallery
that
will
be
known
as
the
boulder
experience.
It
will
also
have
a
rooftop
terrace.
