Description
This week on Inside Boulder News: Partners for a Clean Environment expands services to support businesses; OSMP prepares for North Trail Area Study and Boulder Arts Week kicks off with fun public events.
A
Welcome
to
inside
Boulder
news,
I'm,
Ashley
pearl
the
partners
for
a
clean
environment
or
pace
program
works
with
local
governments
and
businesses
to
create
a
business
community
with
environmentally
sustainable
practices.
Since
the
program
began
in
1993,
pace
has
evolved
and
expanded
its
offerings
to
help
businesses
meet
their
sustainability
goals
and
gain
recognition
for
their
efforts.
Last
week,
Boulder
County
in
the
city
of
Boulder
relaunched
pace
as
a
one-stop-shop
for
business
sustainability
in
Boulder,
County
partners.
B
For
a
clean
environment
or
the
pace
program
has
been
in
our
community
for
20
years,
the
city
in
the
county
recently
expanded
and
relaunched
pace,
and
the
reason
for
this
is
that
we've
encompassed
four
focus
areas
and
sustainability
for
businesses
to
engage
in
energy,
waste,
water
and
transportation.
Our
reason
for
doing
this
is
streamlining
it,
so
businesses
only
have
to
go
to
one
program
to
get
information
about
their
sustainability
efforts,
and
so
we
want
to
make
it
as
easy
as
possible
for
businesses
to
engage
in
sustainability,
best
practices
and
help
the
community
reach
their
goal.
C
The
past
10
years,
pases
really
helped
us
to
learn
more
about
how
we
can
protect
our
environment,
how
we
can
work
work
to
be
good
stewards
of
the
community.
What
pace
really
helped
us
to
do
with
the
solar
panels
was
to
realize
that
we
could
afford
him.
They
helped
us
through
the
process
of
the
rebates
and
everything
that
was
available
to
us,
both
through
the
city
and
through
the
federal
government.
So
they
made
us
realize
that
it
was
a
possibility.
We
thought
it
was
first
a
dream:
the
benefits
have
been
huge.
A
More
than
3,500
businesses
in
Boulder
County
have
worked
with
pace
and
more
than
300
of
these
have
earned
paste
certification
and
energy,
waste,
water
or
transportation

open

mountain
parks
department
will
kick
off
its
development
of
the
North

area
plan
or
TSA
next
month.
The
plan
seeks
to
improve
visitor
experiences
and
increase
the
sustainability
of
recreational
amenities.
A
D
We
go
through
the
process,
there's
going
to
be
opportunity
for
people
to
provide
us
input
on
inspire
Boulder
as
well
as
will
be
here
out,
having
a
series
of
workshops
and
actually
being
out
in
the
areas.
The
trails,
the
trail
heads
of
the
North
TSA
and
some
area
shops
to
be
able
to
seek
input
and
feedback
from
people
who
are
out
using
the
system.
D
The
best
way
to
stay
informed
is
our
project
website
at
North,
TSA,
org,
and
so
that
has
information
about
where
we
are
in
the
planning
process,
upcoming
opportunities
for
people
to
provide
input
and
feedback
and
to
stay
formed
a
kind
of
what's
coming
next.
So
we
also
have
a
link
there
for
a
project
newsletter
e-newsletter
that
we
send
out
periodically
to
make
sure
people
again
have
an
opportunity
to
understand.
What's
coming
in
the
process
again,.

Boulder,
Small
Business,
Development
Center
has
worked
with
thousands
of
local
businesses
to
help
them
start
up
and
grow.
Their
services
can
accommodate
anything
from
mom
and
pop
shops
to
Main
Street
companies
and
science
and
technology
companies,
although
they
typically
work
with
businesses
that
have
50
employees
or
less
the.
E
F
F
We
support
dozens
of
companies
up
and
down
the
front
range,
and
we
do
a
lot
of
business
is
great,
so
I'd
recommend
the
SBDC
because
their
consultants
are
very
qualified
and
in
the
beginning
people
usually
don't
have
a
lot
of
cash
to
blow
on
consultants,
and
this
is
perfect.
This
is
one
of
the
best
reasons
to
pay
taxes
or
to
feel
good
about
paying
taxes,
because
it
is
it's
a
government-funded
entity
and
I
think
they
just
do
great
work.
We.
E
Relocated
to
the
boulder
public
library,
it's
been
a
wonderful
relationship
so
far
and
we
really
want
to
build
on
that.
The
library
has
is
going
through.
A
major
renovation
is
having
a
big
celebration
on
april.
Eleventh
a
saturday.
We
are
kind
of
riding
the
momentum
of
that
renovation
celebration
and
we're
going
to
have
a
whole
week,
relaunch
of
the
Small
Business
Development
Center
here
at
the
library,
so
we'll
be
celebrating
the
day
of
with
everyone
else.
E
Here,
we'll
also
be
doing
about
six
seven
other
workshops
that
will
be
free
and
open
to
everyone
to
give
people
a
taste
of
what
we
do,
and
so
some
of
the
examples
are
for
retailers
we're
doing
a
cash
flow,
open-to-buy
boot,
camp
and
retailers
will
understand
what
that
means.
We'll
do
a
business
action
plan
in
Spanish
we'll
do
some
money
and
finance
programs.
E
One
is
how
to
improve
your
credit
score
and
we're
bringing
in
someone
from
the
state
of
Colorado
to
talk
about
the
advanced
industries,
grants
which
are
really
a
great
vehicle
for
science
and
technology
companies
bioscience.
So
you
can
see
we
pretty
much
try
to
do
programming
across
the
board
for
all
the
types
of
small
businesses
we
work
with
for.
