Welcome

news
your
chance
to
share
your
stories,
get
involved
and
keep
up
to
date
on
all
things:
Boulder
I'm,
Jonathan,
Daniel
Boulder,
is
filled
with
thousands
of
trees
throughout
the
city.
The
growth
of
her
urban
forests
and
threats
to
these
trees
has
required
a
long-term
planning
strategy
to
preserve
the
health
and
sustainability
of
urban
canopy.
That's
why
the
city's
Forestry
Division
is
branching
out
to
the
community
with
a
draft
plan.
The
urban
forest
strategic
plan
is
a
long-term
plan
that
looks
at
the
community's
goals
for
the
forest.
A
B
Importance
of
the
urban
forest
strategic
plan
is
really
to
look
at
overall,
our
urban
canopy,
which
is
the
amount
of
trees
within
Boulder.
It's
it's
important
for
us
to
understand
where
we're
at
with
that
forest
and
how
many
trees
we
have
and
also
understand
what
trees
may
be
removed
or
what
impacts
may
come
our
way
in
the
future
and
how
we
can
be
set
up
to
address
those
challenges.
The.
B
Is
the
first
major
planning
effort,
one
of
the
roles
or
the
goals
that
we
have
for
this
plan
is
to
incorporate
a
lot
of
the
different
strategies
and
specific
management
plans
that
we
have
for
different
areas
of
town,
for
example,
to
bring
it
all
under
one
comprehensive
plan
to
show
how
we
can
manage
the
forest
into
the
future.
With.
B
B
We're
doing
now
is
we're
actually
going
back
to
our
Parks
and
Rec
Advisory
Board,
to
City
Council
and
to
the
community
as
a
whole
to
say:
here's,
here's,
what
we
think
we
heard
here's
the
goals
we
believe
will
help
us
manage
the
forest
appropriately
and
you
know
understand
if
the
community
has
additional
thoughts
and
ideas
and
if
they
support
those
goals.
The.
A
City
hopes
to
have
an
open
house
for
the
urban

digit
plan
early
next
year.
In
the
meantime,
you
can
keep
up
to
date
on
this
plan.

students
from
Boulder

spent
an
intense
weekend
building
little
free
libraries
for
the
community
as
part
of
an
apprenticeship
program
at
boulders
makerspace.
These
teens,
however,
learned
far
more
than
just
how
to
use
power
tools.

The

staff
had
fabricated
the
pieces
and
parts
ahead
of
time,
but
they
had
to
learn
how
to
do
all
of
the
construction
themselves.
They
had
to
come
up
with
the
configuration
for
the
little
libraries
themselves
and
they
also
had
to
do
all
the
