Description
This week on Inside Boulder News - Cybersecurity Month, Traffic Signal Updates, and Community Soccer
A
This
week
on
inside
boulder
news,
its
cybersecurity,
Awareness
Month,
well
tell
you
what
you
need
to
know
to
keep
you
from
falling
victim
to
an
online
attack.
The
city's
Transportation
Department
is
in
the
process
of
updating
its
traffic
signal
practices
and
find
out
why
boulders
police
officers
switched
their
uniform
for
jerseys.
A
Welcome
to
inside
boulder
news
your
source
for
all
things:
Boulder
I'm,
Jonathan,
Daniel
with
technology
advancing
cyber
criminals,
are
fighting
new
ways
to
get
your
information.
October
is
Cyber,
Security,
Awareness
Month,
and
there
are
some
essential
precautions
and
you
need
to
be
aware
of
when
going
online.
Having
information
readily
available
at
our
fingertips
means
that
same
information
can
be
accessed
by
someone
else
just
as
easily,
because.
B
A
B
A
B
Are
some
estimates
saying
that
by
next
year,
50%
of
all
telephone
calls
will
be
either
an
advertisement
or
a
scam?
So
it's
not
just
computers.
It's
all
forms
of
communication,
taking
control
of
your
home
and
the
devices
within
your
home
and
your
home
network
is
the
last
step
in
protecting
yourself
in
this
cyber
security
space.
Cyber.
A
B
Is,
in
my
opinion,
one
of
the
most
dangerous
emails
for
our
citizens.
An
email
might
come
in
and
look
like
it's
from
your
bank
and
says,
there's
a
little
problem
with
your
account.
We
just
need
you
to
use
this
link
to
log
in
and
then
you'll
be
able
to
work
through
this
problem.
But
if
you
look
at
the
URL
bar
at
the
very
top,
it's
actually
not
wellsfargo.com.
B
B
The
order
of
importance
means
how
much
do
you
stand
to
lose?
So
if
you
have
a
bank
account
that
might
have
been
impacted
and
you
have
a
computer
that
might
have
been
impacted.
You
know
this
computer
is
fixable.
You
know
that
it
can
be
cleaned
off
with
a
malware
program,
but
the
bank
account
might
not
be
fixable.
So
you
prioritize
more.
A
Information
on
cybersecurity
can
be
found
on
the
website.
Seen
on
your
screen,
there
are
just
over
a
hundred
and
fifty
traffic
signals
being
operated
in
Boulder.
The
city
has
been
working
on
updating
all
of
boulders
traffic
signal
practices.
The
purpose
of
this
effort
is
to
refine
practices
for
the
installation
and
operation
of
traffic
signals
that
meet
the
city's
transportation
master
plan
goals
and
the
city's
vision
zero
goal.
A
We
spoke
to
transportation,
engineer
Joseph
Paulson,
to
get
an
insight
on
what
this
update
and
tells
the
city
of
boulders
traffic
system
is
designed
to
be
as
efficient
as
possible,
while
providing
safe
travel
for
all
transportation
options
in
the
process
of
updating
its
traffic
signal
practices,
the
city
has
come
up
with
a
couple
of
changes.
Drivers
may
start
seeing
soon,
such
as
the
flashing
yellow
turn
arrow.
The.

A
C
Is
looking
at
what
control
we're
doing
at
all
of
our
154
traffic
signals
today
and
it's
identifying
situations,
locations
crash
patterns
that
suggest
we
should
make
changes,
so
we
won't
be
making
changes
everywhere,
but
we
will
be
making
changes
at
those
locations
that
we've
identified
that
have
the
highest
probability
of
improving
safety.
One.

Information
on
the
city's
transportation
signal
practices
can
be
found
on
border
transportation,
net
boulders,
a
very
desirable
place
to
work,
live
and
visit,
and
for
those
looking
for
job
opportunities.
The
city
of
Boulder,
along
with
the
Bullard
Chamber
and
workforce
Boulder
County,
is
hosting
the
2018
Boulder
job
fair
on
October
9th.
The
fair
will
connect
job
seekers
to
Boulder
area
employers
who
are
recruiting
qualified
applicants
for
current
and
potential
positions.
The
2018
Boulder
job
fair
is
an
opportunity
for
Boulder
residents
to
come
face-to-face
with
local
employers.

A
This
past
weekend,
Boulder
police
officers
switched
out
their
uniforms
for
some
soccer,
cleats
and
jerseys.
For
the
last
four
years,
the
department
has
been
teaming
up
with
the
FC
Boulder
soccer
club
to
engage
with
boulders
Hispanic
community
in
a
fun
and
friendly
environment.
We
caught
up
with
them
and
watched
just
how
well
builders
police
officers
play
on
the
turf.
E
E
G
You
do
lots
of
engagements
within
our
community,
that's
really
a
focus
for
us,
and
this
is
just
one
of
many
engagement
opportunities,
but
we
really
look
at
it
as
an
opportunity
to
to
get
to
know
again,
community
members
and
and
kids
and
family
members
in
a
non
enforcement
or
a
non
uniformed
type
of
situation
where
we
can
come
out
and
laugh
and
have
fun.
We've.
F
Always
looked
for
ways
to
strengthen
our
relationship
with
every
community
in
Boulder,
but
particularly
with
the
Hispanic
community,
mainly
out
of
fear
that
there's
crimes
that
are
unreported
because
of
you
know,
fears
about
immigration
status,
and
we
just
want
to
make
them
all
aware
that.
That's
not
why
we're
here
that
we're
here,
you
know
we
will
really
want
to
build
a
relationship
with
them.
That's
strong!
It's.

A
Looking
for
some
family
fun
this

join
the

barrio,
Elvis,
Sunday
October,
7th,
celebrate
culture,
diversity

to
bring
their
own

participate
in
drum

and
explore
sounds
from
all
over
the
world.
I
will
enjoy
performances,
showcasing
the
world's
different
drums
and
drumming
styles.
This
rare
event
will
be
held
on
