Boulder,
I'm,
Kristin,
Skov
era;
well,
dozens
of
CU
student
leaders
volunteered
to
be
in
the
hot
seat,
Saturday
attending
the
boulder
fire
departments-
leadership
fire
academy.
This
Academy
is
a
unique
opportunity
for
college
students
to
work
with
this
Boulder
Fire
Rescue
to
learn
the
importance
of
evacuation
strategies
and
firefighting
techniques
life-saving
lessons
they
can
share
with
their
peers.

Says
this
training
academy
is
now
a
model
for
other
municipal
fire
departments,
nationwide
bridging
the
gap
between
the
first
responders
and
the
community.
They
serve
and
underscoring
the
importance
of
fire
safety.
This
is
a

Have
you
hiked
up
to
talk?
Well
lately,
it's
one
of
the
city's
most
visited
trails
and
it's
easy
to
see.
Why
has.
A
Renowned
trails
take
hikers
right
up
to
the
flatirons
and
give
visitors
access
to
breathtaking
views
with
the
2013
floods
and
the
trails
overwhelming
popularity
have
taken
a
toll,
widening
and
eroding
the
paths
and
disturbing
nearby
vegetation.
That's
why
the
city's
open
space
and
mountain
parks
department
is
beginning
to
major
flood
repair
projects.

Landscaping
doesn't
usually
draw
a
crowd
unless
you're
in
Boulder
check
out
these
weed
grazing
goats.
It's
called
a
meat
and
bleat
for
obvious
reasons.
Over
the
weekend,
the
city
of
Boulder
Parks
and
Recreation
Department,
along
with
mutton
mowers,
took
on
invasive
plants
near
kings,
ridge
boulevard
using
a
herd
of
these
guys.
The
city
has
been
using
goats
for
more
than
a
decade.
A
G
Doing
a
graze
on
mostly
agricultural
grasses
that
are
kind
of
dominating
this,
this
little
drainage
area
we're
trying
to
promote
kind
of
that
graze
on
the
understory
and
over
story
to
promote
some
more
species,
diversity,
kind
of
a
unique
approach.
I
think
we
like
the
fact
that
it's
different
it
gets
people
excited,
and
it
gets
people
kind
of
interested
in
weed
management
and
kind
of
like.
Why
are
they
goats
here
and
things
like
that?
The.

A
City
deploys
17
plows
to
keep
traffic
moving,
but
they
need
your
help
as
well.
This
year,
they're
asking
residents
and
property
owners
to
make
it
clear,
grab
your
shovel
and
clear
the
snow
from
your
sidewalks
no
later
than
24
hours
after
the
end
of
the
storm.
If
you
don't,
you
could
face
fines.
The
ordinance
is
designed
to
help

sidewalks,
safe
and
accessible
for
pedestrians
and
other
users.

It
wouldn't
be
a
proper
Egyptian
event
without
mummies
and
pyramids,
and
that's
exactly
what
the
boulder
public
library
dug
up
for
kids
and
families.
After
the
lectures
there
were
interactive
workshops,
opportunities
to
take
a
virtual
tour
of
the
ancient
city,
spin
and
weave
flax
into
linen
dress,
up
in

costumes
and,
of
course,
get
up
close
and
personal,

flesh

month
with

events.
The

festival
will
take
place
saturday,
September
24th
from

in
the
Civic
area.
It's
a
free
event,
featuring
live
entertainment
and
activities
that
promise
to
be
both
interesting
and
educational.
Then,
on
Monday,
September,
26
you're
invited
to
the
butterfly
pavilion
to
hear
how
we
can
help
save
the
bees
and
combat
climate
change.
A
During
the
event,
a
panel
of
experts
will
highlight
the
most
critical
concerns
and
explore
ways
to
tackle
this
ongoing
issue
and
don't
worry
if
you're,

much
