A
A
Welcome
to
inside
builder
news,
I'm
ashley
pro
the
city
of
boulders
transportation
division
will
release
the
2016
safe
streets,
build
a
report
on
Monday
May
9th.
The
report
identifies
the
most
common
types
of
collisions
in
Boulder,
discusses
the
behaviors
that
caused
them
and
help
staff
to
pinpoint
the
top
collision
locations
as
well
as
develop
countermeasures
for
them.
One.
B
Of
our
primary
responsibilities
is
to
try
and
make
our
transportation
system
as
safe
as
possible.
One
of
the
ways
we
do,
that
is
to
look
at
crash
data
and
to
try
and
figure
out
where
crashes
are
occurring,
whether
there
are
any
trends
associated
with
those
crashes
and
whether
any
of
those
trends
could
potentially
mitigated
by
any
any
actions.
Education
enforcement
engineering
so
forth
in.
C
The
city
of
Boulder,
while
only
eight
percent
of
all
traffic
collisions,
involve
a
bicyclist
or
pedestrian.
Nearly
sixty
percent
of
serious
injury
and
fatal
collisions
involve
a
bicyclist
or
pedestrian.
So
one
of
the
takeaways
there
is
that
we
really
want
to
go
to
work
on
reducing
the
frequency
and
the
severity
of
collisions
involving
a
bicycle
store,
pedestrian.
One
of
the
ways
that
we're
doing
that
is
we're
focusing
our
efforts
on
crosswalks,
because
that's
the
most
common
locations
for
motor
vehicle
collisions
involving
a
bicyclist
or
pedestrian
to.

Reconstruction
of
Chapman

starting
as
early
as
Monday
May.
9Th.
The
entire
length
of
chapman

from
boulder
canyon
to
flagstaff
drive
will
be
closed
to
fixed
major

erosion
caused
by
the
sep
tember
2013
flood.
The.
D
Rehabilitation
drive
is
one
of
dozen
OS
MP
flood
recovery
projects.
We
have
on
tap
for
2016
and
we
have
several
more
jaques
anticipated
in
2017,
so
we're
working
hard
still
to
repair
damage
from
the
flood,
but
we're
making
progress
and
we've
really
had
incredible
support
from
the
community
to
make
all
our
rebuilding
efforts
come
to
fruition.
So
we
really
want
to
take
an
opportunity
to
thank
the
public
for
their
patients
and
their
support.
During
our
rebuilding
process.
D
Chapman
drive
was
constructed
in
1935
by
the
Civilian
Conservation
Corps,
which
was
an
important
public
works
program
for
the
unemployed
during
the
great
depression
today,
chapman
drive
serves
many
of
our
visitors.
Osp
is
going
to
make
significant
repairs
along
the
trail
to
repair
the
flood
damage,
help
improve
visitor
experiences
and
ensure
that
emergency
vehicles
can
access
this
road
from
over
Canyon
to
black
saffron,
depending.

The
city
held
a
celebration
this
week
to
mark
the
completion
of
the
fng
fine
park,
streambank
restoration
project.
The
project
began
in
November
2015
destabilized
stream,
banks
prevent
erosion,
restore
natural
habitats
and
improve
recreational
access.
So.
E
E
We
also
have
some
of
this
gold
crusher
fine
material,
it's
a
more
stabilized
surface,
that's
more
durable,
so
we
no
longer
have
the
old
dirt
with
the
tree
roots
exposed
areas
around
the
trees
are
being
replanted
with
some
habitat
improvements,
have
concrete
paths
and
new
picnic
tables.
We
also
have
some
access
points
along
the
creek.
E
There
was
there's
irrigation
that
went
in
there's
also
some
drainage
improvements
before
there
were
areas
that
we
just
kind
of
pond
up
and
get
muddy,
and
we
put
in
some
drains
and
some
cobble
swales
to
help
with
the
drainage
I
think
people
are
going
to
enjoy
hanging
out
in
the
park
more.
It's
it's
more
user-friendly.
It
just
sends
a
better
feel
to
it,
especially
once
we
get
all
the
landscaping
in
there'll,
be
a
more
wildlife
there'll,
be
the
water
quality
will
be
improved
in
the
creek
as
well,
because
we
won't
have
as
much
erosion.
This.
A
Is
the
first
community
culture
and
safety
project
to
be
completed?
The
fng
fine
park
stream,
Bank
restoration
project
used
an
estimated
seven
hundred
thousand
dollars
generated
by
the
voter-approved
community
culture
and
safety
tax.
The
tax
was
passed
in
2014
to
provide
funding
for
improving
community
spaces,
enhancing
safety
and
bolstering
cultural
projects
across
the
city.
The
wednesday
night
boulder
farmers
market
season
kicked
off
again
this
week.
This
season's
Wednesday
market
will
include
21
farms
and
13
locally
packaged
and
prepared
food
vendors
eating.
F
F
Spinach
but
overwintered
spinach
is
so
nice
because
what
happens
is
the
starches
and
the
leaf
turn
to
sugars?
And
so
it
has
this
time
to
really
maybe
not
be
the
prettiest
looking
vegetable
but
has
the
sweetness.
So
it's
really
just
utilizing
your
environment
to
maximize
the
flavor
of
your
vegetable.
G
Some
of
the
farmers
will
have
some
unique
kinds
of
things
that
they're
able
to
grow
in
their
greenhouses
and
then
also
hothouse
Tomatoes
heirloom
tomatoes
are
going
to
be
on
the
menu
and
outside
of
that.
If
you're
a
gardener,
then
you'll
definitely
want
to
come
and
get
the
starts,
because
there's
going
to
be
a
lot
of
the
farmers
have
starts
that
they
use
to
sell
to
the
customers
this
time
of
year
and
they're
terrific
stories
I.
G
Wednesday's,
we're
working
with
the
mix
on
kind
of
activities
that
we're
offering
the
beer
garden
will
continue
to
be
a
big
part
of
it
and
then
also
thinking
about
how
do
we
tie
local
food
into
the
experience
of
sitting
down
and
enjoying
a
pint
of
cold
beer
from
your
favorite
local
brewery.
So
we'll
start
making
some
of
those
connections
that
people
will
see
and
I
think
generally.
What
people
will
see
this
here
is
a
lot
more
opportunity
to
connect
with
the
growers
on
a
level.
