If
you
see
these
tiny
police
officers
hanging
around
Boulder
they're,
just
helping
out
for
the
holidays,
Boulder
PD
swore
in
Santa's
helpers
this
week,
unlike
buddy,
the
elf
Boulder,
pd's,
Ralphie
and
pearl,
are
fighting
crime
when
they're
not
wrapping

the

This
is

Every
year
the
population
of
Boulder
grows
a
little
bit
more
just
under
one
percent
and
over
time
that
puts
a
strain
on
our
existing
infrastructure.
That's
why
there's
fees
and
taxes
on
new
developments
to
help
meet
the
new
demands
from
new
residents
and
new
workers,
they're
called
development
impact
fees
and
excise
taxes.
D
The
City
Council
just
adopted
some
new
rates
for
these
fees
and
taxes,
and
they
did
go
up
just
a
little
bit
for
residential
development
when
you
apply
it
to
kind
of
a
prototypical
residential
development
project,
it
increases
by
about
a
dollar
and
five
cents
per
square
foot
for
non
residential
development.
It's
about
a
97
cent
per
square
foot,
increasing
that.

all
year
round,
cyclists,
joggers
and
folks,
just
looking
for
some
fresh
air
travel,
the
boulder
creek
path,
it's
heavily
trafficked.
So
now
the
city
is
looking
for
ways
to
make
this
area
more
user-friendly
for
everyone.
What.
E
We're
proposing
is
adding
a
pedestrian
path
that
would
run
along
the
existing
multi-use
path,
as
well
as
some
other
improvements
like
pedestrian
lighting,
interpretive
signage
and
doing
some
long
needed
maintenance
on
the
jogging
path
that
runs
along
Boulder
Creek
from
from
ninth
Street,
actually
to
Evan

fine
park
bridge.
That's.
A
E
Is
a
project
that
was
identified
in
the
2014
voter-approved
community
culture
and
safety
ballot
text
initiative
and
it's
a
safety
improvement
to
the
boulder
creek
path,
we're
focusing
primarily
between
seventeenth
Street
and
13th
Street.
That's
the
stretch
that
runs
behind
boulder
high
school
and
then
also
from
63
to
the
fng
fine
park
bridge
you're.
