The
flexible
rebate
program
is
a
business
incentive
tool
that
the
city
uses
for
high-impact
primary
employers
working
to
help,
keep
them
and
grow
here
in
Boulder
duck
approval
that
the
city
manager
gave
was
for
a
fifty-thousand-dollar
rebate,
that'll,
be
something
that
up
slope
can
present
to
the
city
receipts
for
taxes
that
they
might
pay
on
permits
fees
that
they
pay
on
permits
and
use
in
sales
taxes
on
equipment
that
they're
going
to
purchase
for
their
new
brewery.
It's.

How
about
nada?
The
city
chose
these
winning
designs
to
be
printed
on
reusable
bags
as
part
of
the
implementation
of
a
disposable
bag
fee.
Later
this
year,
the
designs
were
selected
based
on
community
input
on

the
city's

Town
Hall.
We.

Had
about
a
hundred
and
fifteen
entries
total,
both
through
the
mail
through
email
and
through
inspire
Boulder
calm,
and
we
had
a
committee
narrow
those
down
to
ten
finalists
that
we
thought
reflected
the
community
well
and
would
look
great
on
a
bag
and
met
all
of
our
requirements,
and
we
put
those
up
on
inspire
Boulder

have
the
community
vote
on
the
winners.
The
goal
the
ordinance
is
really
to
reduce
disposable
bag
use
everywhere.

People
that
are
using
the
bags
are
going
to
be
the
ones
that
are
sort
of
offsetting
the
impacts
of
the
bag,
so
that
fee
will
go
towards
you
know
doing
the
education
and
outreach
about
the
ordinance
buying
the
bags.
Some
money
will
go
to
the
recycling
center
to
help
with
contamination
costs.
We
have
some
money
in
there
that
will
go
towards
stream
clean
up
and
so
really
it
that
money
is
offsetting
the
impact
of
the
bags.

Is
our
opportunity
that
we
take
once
a
year
to
thank
our
employees
for
some
of
the
great
work
they
do
in
the
previous
year
and
also
to
acknowledge
promotions
that
occur
throughout
the
year?
Life-Saving
awards
are
important
for
us,
because
when
you're
in
the
field
and
you're
doing
your
work,
often
you
don't
get
a
follow-up
or
anything
with
it
with
the
people
you
worked
with,
so
we
like
to
celebrate
those
lives.

The
department
will
continue
making
improvements
in
2013
like
implementing
a
new

that
will
increase

and
creating
a
