A
Welcome
to
inside
Boulder
news,
I'm
Natalie
Wood,
a
gathering
of
local
and
national
sustainability
leaders
met
in
downtown
Boulder
Wednesday
to
talk
about
everything
from
sustainable
business
practices
to
climate
change.
Robert
f
kennedy
jr.
gave
the
keynote
presentation
to
benefit
the
center
for
resource
conservation,
a

nonprofit,
good.
B
Environmental
policy
is
identical
to
go
to
economic
policy
if
we
want
to
measure
our
economy,
and
this
is
how
we
ought
to
be
measuring
it,
ASAP
on
how
it
produces
jobs
and
the
dignity
of
jobs
over
the
generations
and
how
it
preserves
the
value
of
the
assets
of
our
community.
It's
always
inspiring
coming
to
boulder.
You
know,
there's
a
real
sense
of
community
or,
ultimately
that's
what
environmental
activism
is
it's
about.
A
Conference

trends

a

level

City
Council
decided
Monday
night
against
establishing
a
sister
city
relationship
with
the
Palestinian
city
of
Nablus.
The
proposal
was
voted
down.
A
Six
to
three
volunteers
had
been
working
on
the
boulder
Nabal,
a
sister
city
project
for
two
years,
saying
it
could
bridge
cultures,
but
those
opposed
said
Boulder
shouldn't
enter
into
the
Middle
East
conflict.
Several
council
members
said
they
were
concerned
that
backers
were
supportive
of
the
government
of
Nablus
making
the
issue
political
rather
than
educational
and
cultural,
but
council
members
are
encouraging
supporters
and
opponents
to
keep
working
on
ways
to
reach
a
solution.
Visit.

C
How
is
it
a
place
that
really
attracts
people
from
throughout
our
community,
and
we
talked
about
the
term
of
productive
collisions,
sort
of
a
place
that
farmers
meet
schoolchildren
and
meet
artists
who
meet
business
people
and
meet
local
government
people
and
a
place
that
really
brings
us
together
and
through
those
productive,
creative
collisions
create
something
that's
better
and
bigger
than
the
sum
of
the
parts
we're
approaching
the
end
of
the
beginning,
which
now
will
launch
us
into
a
lot
more
detailed
planning
work.

City

A
final
plan
to
council
in
the
fall
dog
owners
will
want
to
raise
their
ears
for
this.
One
council
passed
a
new
dog
ordinance
last
week,
calling
for
dogs
living
within
the
city
limits
to
be
licensed
every
year
instead
of
every
three
years.
The
new
ordinance
aims
to
help
stop
the
spread
of
rabies
in
our
area.
B
D
A
Play
a
big
role
in
the
health
of
their
pet.
That
starts
with
making
sure
animals
are
up
to
date
on
their
vaccinations.
Dogs
within
the
city
of
Boulder
must
maintain
a
dog
license
which
is
contingent
on
dogs
being
current
on
their
rabies
vaccinations.
A
change
in
the
ordinance
now
requires
dogs
to
renew
their
license
every
year,
instead
of
every
three
years.
What.
D
A
D
Health
officials
for
years
have
actually
included
ferrets
cats
and
dogs
requiring
to
be
rabies
vaccinated.
That
was
something
we
hadn't
done,
so
this
was
our
opportunity
to
enhance
that,
and
now
there
is
a
requirement
for
ferrets
cats
and
dogs.
All
over
the
age
of
four
months
have
to
be
rabies,
vaccinated
other.

local
kids
have
lots
of
ways
to
stay
active
in
the

but
what
about
staying
mentally
active
the
boulder
Public
Library
offers
a
summer
reading
program.
That's
both
fun
and
educational
research.
E
Shows
that
if
kids
read
20
minutes
a
day
for
at
least
five
days
each
week
they
go
back
to
school
at
the
same
reading
level
or
above
instead
of
losing
ground
and
the
teachers
having
to
catch
them
up.
So
we
try
and
make
it
fun
so
they're
keeping
track
of
how
many
minutes
they
read
each
time
they
come
into
the
library
they
get
a
special
surprise
and
the
programs
running
through
the
first
week
of
July,
and
then
we
have
a
variety
of
different
programs
available
for
them
to
come.
