things:
Boulder
I'm,
Jocelyn,
Evan,
Daniel,
Boulder,
fire
rescue
has
a
brand
new
fire
engine
that
they
put
into
service
during
a
push-in
ceremony.
Earlier
this
week
the
new
fire
engine
will
be
housed
at
Station
3
at
30th
and
Arapahoe,
and
was
specifically
built
to
meet
the
needs
of
Boulders
fire
department
and
community
Boulder's
Fire
Station
3,
located
at
30th
and
Arapahoe
welcomed
in
a
new
fire
engine.
A
B
A
After
10
months
of
work,
2503
is
completely
refurbished
and
ready
to
return
to
service
for
the
Boulder
Community.
This
project
was
funded
through
the
fleet
replacement
fund
and
overseen
by
Boulder
fire
rescue,
engineer,
Scott
Falconer
and
Curtis
stalker
and
Battalion
Chiefs,
John,
Nunez
and
Travis
richen.
C
A
Push-In
ceremony
is
a
long-standing
tradition
in
the
fire
service
dating
back
to
the
1800.
When
fire
department
apparatus
were
horse-drawn
steamer
engines,
since
horses
struggled
to
walk
backwards
when
pulling
a
load,
the
horses
were
detached
and
firefighters
would
push
the
engine
back
into
the
bay.
This
ritual
is
now
a
tradition
for
Boulder
and
for
fire
departments
across
the
Nation.
B
Firefighters
are
really
big
into
tradition,
and
it's
one
of
those
Traditions
that
we
kind
of
keep
alive,
and
this
is
the
third
time
Boulder
fire
has
done
it
and
I
think
you're
going
to
see
this
for
every
new
piece
of
equipment
that
we
get
kind
of
a
welcome
to
the
community.
It's
not
just
for
the
fire
departments
for
all
of
Boulder
we're.
A
Well
into
the
middle
of
winter
and
the
little
cold
or
snow
doesn't
stop
all
the
rights
from
community
joined
Boulder
for
the
14th
annual
winter
Bike
To
Work
Day
on
February
10th.
Let's
look
at
what's
planned
for
next
week.
It's
no
secret
that
Boulder
has
an
extensive
network
for
walking
and
biking.
This
year's
Bike
To
Work
Day
is
the
perfect
excuse
to
get
out
and
enjoy
the
outdoors
winter.
D
A
E
Happy
hour
will
be
at
the
Boulder
Junction
Roadhouse
Restaurant
from
four
to
seven
PM,
we'll
have
lots
of
fun
giveaways,
free
appetizers,
and
there
will
also
be
drink
specials
during
their
usual
happy
hour
time.
So
we
hope
people
will
come
out
and
take
advantage
and
come
hang
out
with
fellow
bike
commuters
after
work.
A
D
And
biking
certainly
helps
meet
our
climate
goals
that
we've
set
out
for
both
the
city
and
the
state.
It's
a
fun
and
energizing
way
to
get
around.
It
puts
you
more
in
contact
with
your
community
and
lets.
You
see
your
friends
and
people
and
experience
your
community
up
close
rather
than
being
locked
behind
a
two-ton
vehicle
when.
A
You're
back
to
work
day
will
be
held
on
Friday
February
10th
for
a
full
list
of
events.
Please
visit
the
city's
website,
don't
forget
to
bundle
up
and
be
safe.
Colorado's
unpredictable
winter
weather
makes
for
mild
temperatures
one
day
to
extreme
cold
temperatures.
The
next.
This
often
causes
lakes
and
other
bodies
of
water
to
thawn
freeze
in
a
short
amount
of
time.
Builders
fire
rescue
would
like
to
remind
community
members
to
never
walk
out
into
any
type
of
Frozen
Waters.
A
F
F
And
foremost,
call
9-1-1,
if
it's
your
pet,
you
know,
have
people
call
your
your
pet
or
animal
back
to
Shore
and
try
doing
anything
in
your
ability
or
power
to
to
make
that
happen.
Do
not
go
out
onto
the
ice
again
call
us
at
least
we're
in
route,
and
if
you
get
your
pet
back
great
all
is
happy
and
everything's
great.
We
will
gladly
cancel
and
go
back
in
service
Boulders.
F
All
of
our
engine
companies
are
equipped
with
a
surface-sized
rescue
suit
and
anchor
rope,
and
every
engine
company
will
affect
a
surface
ice
rescue.
We
also
have
a
fully
capable
water
rescue
team
that
responds
on
all
of
these
calls
as
well
should
something
more
severe
occur
if
a
victim
were
to
go
subsurface
or
one
of
our
Rescuers
had
an
issue.
Our
dive
team
is
in
route
as
well
to
be
able
to
do
an
ice
dive
operation.
