A
Welcome
to
inside
Boulder
news,
I'm
Ashley
pro
dog
guardians
may
soon
have
to
demonstrate
that
their
dogs
are
vaccinated
for
rabies
and
participate
in
an
education
class
as
part
of
new
changes
to
the
city's
open
space
off
leash
program.
This
was
the
direction
City
Council
appeared
to
be
heading
Tuesday
night
after
hearing
from
open
space
and
mountain
parks,
staff
and
members
of
the
public
about
proposed
changes
to
voice
and
site
policies

with
Steve
Armstead
environmental
planner
about
the
next
steps
for
OS
NP.
It's.
B
Been
a
fairly
lengthy
process
and
one
of
the
reasons
as
we
wanted
to
make
sure
we're
doing
a
thorough
look
at
the
program
in
ways.
We
could
improve
it
and
have
a
lot
of
opportunity
for
the
community
to
weigh
in
on
that
so
started
with
a
lot
of
conversations
with
the
open
space
board
of
trustees
had
input
from
the
City
Council,
and
you
know
certainly
a
lot
of
opportunities
for
the
community.
We
received
close
to
400
individual
comments
about
considerations.
B
We
were
looking
at,
we
had
to
open
houses
which
were
well
attended,
and
you
saw
kind
of
evidenced
at
the
City
Council
meeting
that
there
was
a
lot
of
people
there
sharing
their
perspectives
about
what
works
with
the
program,
things
that
perhaps
need
change,
and
so
I
think
you
know
in
looking
at
the
range
of
options
we
considered
all
those
community
perspectives
and
I
think
where
we're
ending
up
is
probably
a
good,
balanced
approach
to
making
some
modifications
it
will
hopefully
set
us
up
well
for
the
future.
The
next
steps
are,
you
know.
B
Staff
has
a
lot
of
work
ahead
to
make
sure
those
changes
are
in
place.
For
the
start
of
the
new
year
january
of
2015
and
first
and
foremost,
is
with
the
expected
requirement
that
people
attend
an
information
session
or
an
education
session
staff
needs
to
have
that
program
up
and
running
pretty
quickly.
So
we've
got
a
lot
of
work
just
to
make
sure
that
class
is
interesting.
Has
a
lot
of
good
information
to
make
sure
guardians
can
be
successful
with
voice
inside
control.
Well,.
A
Council
members
provided
feedback.
They
have
asked
to
take
one
more
vote
before
any
changes
become
official.
A
date
for
the
subsequent
vote
has
not
yet
been
set.

A
The
city
of
Boulder
and
surrounding
communities
rely
on
the
boulder
Municipal
Airport
for
recreational
commercial
and
emergency
services.
A
1.4
million
dollar
grant
from
the
Colorado
Department
of
Transportation
division
of
Aeronautics
will
help
make
sure
those
services
remain
intact.
This
summer
the
grant
money
will
be
put
to
good
use,
improving
the
Western
aircraft
parking
ramp.
Most.
C
Of
the
asphalt
that
the
FAA
and
the
seedot
grants
pay
for
has
about
a
20
year
lifespan
and
ours
is
27
years
old.
It's
definitely
needing
to
be
repaved.
Now
it's
important
that
we
have
places
for
airplanes
to
park
that
aren't
hangers,
because
we
don't
have
enough
hangar
space
for
all
the
airplanes,
as
well
as
the
airplanes
that
are
just
coming
in
for
a
couple
days,
maybe
staying
the
night
even
a
couple
hours
that
gives
them
a
place
to
park.
It's
also
really
important
for
all
the
aircraft
that
use
the
airport
for
the
disaster
recovery.
C
A
Improvements
are
expected
to
take
about
two
months
to
complete
and
the
airport
will
remain
open,
the
entire
time

almost
400

after
his

Shakespeare
is
teaching
Colorado
about
art
and
violence
prevention.
At
the
same
time,
a
partnership
between
the
Colorado
Shakespeare
Festival
and
the
Center
for
the
Study
and
prevention
of
violence
brings
much
ado
about
nothing
to
local
schools,
to
encourage
kids
and
adults
to
speak
up
about
bullying.
D
I
mean
we
found
that
it's
something
that
schools
are
really
hungry
for
basically
a
way
to
teach
violence,
prevention,
to
teach
kids
about
anti-bullying
in
an
engaging
way
and
I
think
the
fact
that
it's
a
performance
is
really
appealing,
because
it's
it's
a
really
fun
and
engaging
way
to
speak
to
kids
about
these
really
important
issues.
The.
E
But
then,
as
you
saw
a
lot
of
raising
their
hands
that
they
had
experienced
bullying
or
been
bullied,
they
experience
it
a
little
bit
in
elementary
school,
but
it
really
comes
out
in
middle
school,
and
if
we
can
talk
about
and
the
more
you
talk
about
it,
hopefully
we
can
begin
to
address
the
problem
and
then
it
isn't
such
a
problem
anymore.
A.
F
Lot
of
people
are
interested
in
how
the
kid
the
kids
react,
especially
the
adults,
but
but
we
also
get
a
lot
of
compliments
from
the
adults.
You
see
the
show,
because
they're
not
only
are
the
children
Washington,
but
the
the
adults
as
well
are
being
entertained
and
and
taking
a
lot
of
the
lessons
away
from
the
show.
