Welcome
to

the
city
of
boulder
and
xcel
energy,
jointly
announced
this
week
that
representatives
from
each
entity
are
discussing
a
possible
settlement
to
ongoing
litigation
related
to
the
city's
efforts
to
purchase
certain
Xcel
Energy
property
and
operate
an
electric
utility
within
the
city.
Work
on
municipal
ization
is
not
being
affected
by
negotiation
discussions.
A
The
city
will
continue
working
on
parallel
paths
by
pursuing
continued
legal
and
engineering
work
related
to
creating
our
electric
utility
well,
at
the
same
time,
exploring
a
possible
partnership
with
Excel
discussions
are
expected
to
continue
over
the
next
few
months

After
a
long
and
robust
community
planning
process,
City
Council
approved
the
North
Trail
study
area
plan
this
week
and.
B
B
A
part
of
the
approval
of
the
plan,
the
Boulder
City
Council,
directed
staff
to
minimize
the
footprint,
along
with
the
ecological
impacts
of
a
trail
connection
from
Boulder
to
Georgia
ranch
north
of
Boulder.
This
plant
has
more
than
86
actions
to
improve
visitor
experiences
in
the
North
TSA
north
of
Boulder,
along
with
efforts
to
help
conserve
and
protect
our
important
natural
agricultural
and
cultural
resources
to.
C
C
We're
giving
them
hands-on
activities
such
as
spraying
the
hoses
and
we're
smoking
out
a
room,
so
they
can
learn
how
to
search
it
like
the
firefighters
searched
for
them,
and
they
also
got
the
chance
to
try
and
bunker
gear
and
and
see
what
that's
like
for
for
some
of
the
activities
we've
done
develop
from
the
morning
until
the
last
time
we
put
them
on
the
bus,
we're
really
working
on
the
collaboration
and
the
team
effort
and
what
it
takes.
Because
that's
what
our
firefighters
do.

Us
36
corridor
is
wrapping
up
for
the
constructions
wrapping
up,
and
so
the
bike
way
is
just
one
component:
it's
a
multimodal
corridor
that
includes
carpool
lanes,
general
purpose
lanes
for
regular
traffic
and
the
bus
lanes
for
the
flat
iron
fire
brt
and
now
there's
a
dedicated
bike
way.
That's
18
miles
long
that
runs
from
Boulder
to
Denver.
The
ride
on
the
18th
is
to
celebrate
the
bikeway
being
open
to
the
public.

Org
back
in
2011
valmont
bike
park
opened
to
the
public
with
42
acres
of
terrain.
That
has
since
attracted
cyclists
and
events
from
around
the
world.
This
weekend,
you're
invited
to
celebrate
valmont
bike
parks,
fifth
anniversary
with
activities
for
the
whole
family.
E
Valmont
bike
park
is
unique
because
it
provides
bike
trails
in
an
urban
setting.
So
here
within
the
city
limits,
you
can
drive
car
here
you
can
take
the
bus,
you
can
ride
your
bike
here
and
then
go
off
onto
one
of
these
unique
trails
with
the
jumper
totodile,
their
jumps
and
a
lot
of
the
cross-country
trails.
So
it's
unique
in
that
it
offers
something
for
everybody
without
having
to
drive
all
the
way
to
the
mountains.
They
are
well
groomed.
E
We
have
a
full-time
staff,
year-round
that
keeps
the
park
open
and
it's
enjoyed
by
people
of
all
abilities
and
ages.
The
festival
this
weekend
was
designed
around
that
those
principles.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
there's
something
for
everybody.
So
there
will
be
a
Strider
obstacle
course
for
the
little
ones
face
painting
and
then
for
those
who
are
a
little
more
competitive,
there
will
be
a
short
track
race.

The
boulder
Municipal
Airport
opens
its
doors
to
the
public
for
a
special
day.
Full
of
aircraft
and
activities
Boulder
Airport
day
and
open
house
will
take
place
on
Saturday
June
eighteenth
from
9am
to
3pm.
A
F
We
want
people
to
come,
see
an
airport
that
maybe
they
haven't
visited,
because
we
don't
have
the
commercial
flights
that
you
would
normally
associate
with
larger
airports.
All
of
our
flight
schools,
everybody
that
here
opens
up
their
businesses.
You
can
kind
of
ask
information
if
you've
ever
been
curious
about
getting
a
pilot
license,
but
also
you
know
it's
more
of
a
traditional
air
show
as
well.
So
we
have
airplanes
that
come
in
World
War,
two
planes
by
planes,
helicopters,
medevac
helicopters,
all
kinds
of
really
neat
things
for
people
to
see.
F
So,
if
you're
interested
in
their
planes
and
antique
things
come
out,
all
the
airplanes
are
basically
closed
up
and
you
can
experience
them
firsthand.
You
can
climb
inside
the
cockpit.
You
know
talk
to
the
pilots,
so
it's
very
hands-on
and
that's
I
think
that's
what
makes
it
so
unique
where
maybe
some
air
shows
you've
been
to
you're,
just
part
of
a
crowd
and
you
watch.
The
planes
fly
over.
Ours
is
much
more
hands-on
and
we
welcome
kids
and
families.
It's
it's
definitely
a
fun
event
for
everybody.
