A
Welcome
to
inside
boulder
news,
I'm
natalie
wood,
a
private
rental
property,
has
become
the
first
large
apartment
complex
in
boulder
to
be
a
hundred
percent.
Smart
regs
compliant
glen
lake
apartments
received
smart
reg,
certifications
for
all
207
units
in
june.
So
how
does
a
property
become
smart,
regs,
compliant
I
went
to
glenwood
drive
to
find
out
rental
properties
account
for
about
half
of
boulders
housing
stock,
so
addressing
their
energy
efficiency
is
important
to
meeting
community
climate
objectives.

A
B
Can
help
schedule
smart
inspections
for
the
rental
community
in
Boulder,
help
them
figure
out
how
to
reach
compliance
and
who
to
work
with
do
window
replacements,
for
example,
or
other
work,
incentives
that
are
available.
There's
a
loan
product
currently
available
that
landlords,
property
managers
homeowners
can
use
to
offset
and
pay
for
the
costs
of
any
energy
efficiency
upgrades
they
side
to
take
on
for.
A
More
information
on
the
energy
smart
program
and
becoming
smart
regs
compliant
visit
energy,
smart,
yes,
calm
or
call
an
energy
advisor
tuesday
night
council
discussed
greenhouse
gas
reduction
strategies
and
ways
to
expand
community
participation
in
achieving
boulders
climate
commitment
goals.
The
elected
officials
encourage
staff
to
work
toward
a
goal
of
reducing
boulders
emissions
by
eighty
percent
by
2050.
We.
C
Can
focus
a
lot
and
should
on
our
own
individual
actions
and
behaviors
and
how
we
reduce
energy
in
our
own
homes
and
so
on,
but
there's
only
so
much
that
we
can
do
there
and
that
will
only
take
us
a
certain
distance,
because
what
the
science
is
telling
us
is
that
we
literally
need
to
reduce
our
carbon
emissions
by
almost
eighty
percent
of
what
they
currently
are.
That's
a
huge
number.
So
reduction
will
get
us,
maybe
somewhere
between
25
to
35
percent
of
that
gap.
C
The
rest
of
that
gap
is
going
to
have
to
come
from
new
sources
of
energy
that
don't
release
greenhouse
gases
as
a
part
of
their
emissions.
It's
been
an
exciting
process.
So
far
we
have
some
very
competent
consulting
groups
that
are
working
with
us.
Looking
at
cities
across
the
world
for
the
best
possible
strategies
that
we
might
be
able
to
apply
in
Boulder
staff.
A
Will
continue
to
work
with
consulting
groups
and
gather
community
feedback
before
coming
back
to
Council
in
2014
many
Boulder
commuters
are
committed
to
preserving
the
environment
by
choosing
sustainable
transportation
options.
In
fact,
ten
percent
of
residents
commute
using
bikes,
boulder
creek
path
is
a
critical
trail
for
many
cyclists,
joggers
kayakers
and
tourists
in
Boulder.
The
7.5
mile
path
was
recently
ranked
number
two
on
USA.
Today's
top
urban
bike
paths
across
the
USA,
the
boulder.
D
Creek
path
was
completed
in
1987
and
it's
been
so
popular
that
we've
since
that
time
made
many
improvements
along
the
path.
One
of
them
was
the
Broadway
bridge,
and
then
there
are
several
rest
areas
along
the
boulder
creek
path.
The
path
was
widened
and
we
did
some
habitat
restoration
in
the
area,
so
it
provided
a
flood
benefit,
habitat
restoration,
benefit
and
path
improvements.
It
really
makes
it
quick
and
easy
for
people
to
get
around
the
city.
D
A
Creek
path,
ranked
second
to
midtown
greenway
in
minneapolis
in
seattle's
burke,
gilman
trail
rounded
out
the
top
three
with
beautiful
sites
like
boulder
creek
path.
It's
not
hard
to
find
artistic
inspiration
in
Boulder.
More
than
a
hundred
pieces
of
local
art
are
currently
on
display
in
the
libraries
Canyon
gallery.
The
display
titled
art
inspired
by
the
land
features
boulders
open
space
and
mountain
parks.
It's.
E
Essentially,
a
community
celebration
of
our
beauty,
inspiration
what
do
people
get
from
the
land
and
wildlife
that
surrounds
Boulder
and
on
top
with
space
mountain
parks,
lands?
Our
artists
are
amateur
to
professional.
Our
youngest
is
four
and
a
half
years
old,
but
it's
really
a
community
spectrum,
a
celebration
of
art
there's
no!
During
no
contest,
it
really
is
about
What's
in
people's
hearts,
about
the
land
and
what
do
they
want
to
share
through
their
art?
It's
a
beautiful
way
to
see
the
open
space
and
mountain
park
system
through
the
eyes
of
local
artists.

Natalie
on
the

City

be
looking
ahead
to
an
expiring,

If
that
tax
