A
Welcome
to
inside
Boulder
news,
I'm
Ashley
pro
the
North
Boulder
recreation
center
gymnasium
reopened
this
week.
For
the
first
time
since
the
sep
tember
flood
staff
and
contractors
worked
for
five
and
a
half
months
not
only
to
repair
severe
damage,
but
also
to
upgrade
this
much
use
portion
of
the
facility.
The.
B
Night
of
the
flood,
the
all
of
the
water
flowed
on
the
north
side
of
the
building
and
it
actually
came
underneath
the
doors
of
the
gymnasium
and
it
actually
flooded
about
a
quarter
of
the
gym
and
then
all
of
a
sudden,
the
water
started
going
underneath
it
underneath
the
vapor
barrier
and
warp
the
entire
gym
floor.
Well,.
A
B
Want
to
see
if
we
could
mitigate
any
issues
from
happening
again
if
there
was
any
future
floods,
so
we
made
a
thicker
or
vapor
barrier
and
then
we
wanted
to
evaluate
the
community
needs
and
we
added
pickleball
lines,
because
that's
trending
thing
right
now
in
the
community,
so
it's
a
little
bit
better
way
of
a
logo
new
pads
and
it's
actually
better
for
injuries.
Also,
the
floor
is
a
major
upgrade
of
what
we
had.
A
B
Have
amazing
customers
and
patrons
the
entire
city
supported
just
the
recovery
process
for
the
boulder
Parks
and
Recreation
Department?
We
had
seven
hundred
and
eighty
volunteers
that
helped
out
about
2300
hours
to
make
us
whole
again
and
without
their
community
support.
We
this
wouldn't
have
been
possible
to
be
recovered
this
fast.
So
just
a
big
thank
you
to
all
of
our
volunteers
for
helping
us
to.
A
Thank
the
community
for
their
patience
during
the
gym
reconstruction
process.
The
north

center
will
be
free
and

A
C
So
one
of
the
main
goals
of
this
refurbishment
is
to
be
better
in
line
with
our
department's
best
management
practice
for
water
conservation
and
increase
Plant

for
both
the

the

which
will
also
allow
us
to
