A
Well,
there's
top
stories.
This
week
the
community
learns
more
about
the
city's
energy
supply
options,
cyclists
gear
up
for
the
annual
b360
and
boulder
offers
recreation,
you'll
love,
hi,
I'm
natalie
wood
community
members
came
together,
thursday
june
2nd
to
hear
more
about
the
options
the
city
is
exploring
as
part
of
the
energy
future
project.
The
city
is
looking
at
three
possibilities
for
how
homes
and
businesses
in
boulder
could
get
their
electricity
in
the
future.
A
Participants
learned
that
the
option
of
forming
a
new
partnership
with
excel
energy
is
still
a
possibility,
but
that
the
company
has
not
yet
made
any
public
proposal
about
how
it
might
help
the
city
accomplish
its
goals.
In
the
meantime,
consultants
have
been
exploring
the
alternative
possibility
of
the
city
forming
a
local
power
utility.
Several
city
staff
members
gave
presentations
about
the
technical,
legal
and
financial
implications
of
this
option
and
discuss
different
ways.
A
Such
a
utility
might
be
structured,
managed
and
governed
staff
also
acknowledged
that
a
third
option
keeping
the
system
the
way
it
is,
is
also
still
under
consideration.
The
public
asked
a
number
of
good
questions
during
a
one
hour.
Q,
a
session
city
council,
is
expected
to
use
the
community
feedback
to
guide
its
decision
making
over
the
next
several
weeks.
A
second
community
forum
is
planned
for
june
28th.
That
forum
will
be
geared
almost
entirely
around
soliciting
input
from
those
who
would
be
affected
by
any
changes.
A
One
set
of
customers-
the
city
has
heard
quite
a
bit
from
is
the
business
community,
while
not
all
business
owners
are
voters,
they
are
watching
the
city's
energy
future
work
closely.
Many
are
interested
in
weighing
in
on
potential
impacts
they
might
face.
As
a
result,
the
city
has
scheduled
four
sessions
specifically
geared
towards
small
and
large
businesses
in
boulder.
These
will
be
held
between
june,
8th
and
13th
in
different
parts
of
town.
A
It's
been
months
in
the
making,
but
the
city
of
boulder's
parks
and
recreation
department
is
ready
to
open
the
newly
developed
valmont
bike
park
on
saturday
june
11th.
The
40-acre
bike
park
was
developed
with
the
support
and
partnership
of
the
local
cycling,
community
and
other
organizations
like
boulder
mountain
bike
alliance.
It
will
feature
off-road
cycling,
amenities
for
multiple
riding
styles
and
skill
levels.
The
park
will
also
include
training
and
skill
building
trails,
a
toddler
playground
and
an
event
plaza.
A
Many
of
those
cyclists
are
also
gearing
up
for
the
14th
annual
b360.
The
self-guided
bike
ride
that
circles
boulder
is
taking
place
on
sunday
june
5th
in
rain
or
shine
riders
can
register
for
free
on
sunday,
starting
at
2
30
pm.
This
year's
route
will
highlight
the
newly
completed
underpass
at
30th
street
and
two
new
path
connections.
A
A
A
A
B
Get
everything
from
olympic
athletes
to
brand
new
first
time,
fitness
people,
so
we've
got
every
range
of
fitness,
which
is
really
fun
they'll
a
lot
of
times
ride
their
bike
here,
take
the
class
and
ride
home
or
they
walk
out
of
here
and
go
do
a
yoga
class.
So
I
mean
boulder
in
general,
especially
at
the
rec
centers
everybody's,
fit.
A
B
A
The
fun
is
certainly
apparent
in
this
new
step
class
jennifer
teaches
at
north
boulder
rec
center.
Just
look
at
the
turnout,
excellent
clients,
classes
and
instructors
make
the
rec
centers.
One
more
thing
to
love
about
boulder
boulder
is
a
special
place
from
its
great
rec
centers
and
outdoor
opportunities
to
its
outstanding
businesses
and
progressive
ways
of
thinking.
Tell
us
what
you
love
about
this
wonderful
town
