Boulder
I'm
Jocelyn
Avendano
late
last
week,
Boulders
fire
rescue
celebrated
the
groundbreaking
of
its
new
Fire
Station
3,
located
near
the
intersection
of
30th
and
Valmont.
This
new
station
will
enable
the
boulder
fire
rescue
team
to
respond
to
the
increased
demand
for
service
along
the
30th
Street
Corridor
near
Belmont
and
Pearl,
and
will
help
the
department
improve
response
time
in
that
area.
These
two
Parcels
of
land
located
near
30th
and
Valmont
Street,
will
be
home
of
the
new
Boulder
fire
rescue
station
3..
A
B
Going
to
allow
us
to
to
move
all
of
our
administrative
Personnel,
along
with
the
the
station
there
on
30th
in
Arapahoe,
so
it
gets
us
comfortably
out
of
the
flood
plain
which,
but
the
bigger
issue
is
it's
also
going
to
help
us
with
a
lot
of
the
call
volume
that
occurs
in
area
and
now,
actually
we
expect
it
to
go
up,
given
all
the
construction
that's
going
on
in
there.
A
A
B
There's
a
lot
going
into
this
in
terms
of
our
environmental
goals
as
a
city,
we're
reusing
steel
from
the
hospital
property.
So
there's
there's
some
of
that
going
on
with
this
station.
It
actually
will
also
allow
the
crews
to
to
do
in-station
training
right
there.
There's
some
features
to
the
stations
that
we
don't
have
at
other
stations.
So
they'll,
be
you
without
needing
to
go
drive
out
to
the
the
Reservoir
Training
Center
facility.
They
can.
They
can
train
right
there,
construction.
