East
boulder
is
one
of
10
sub-communities
in
boulder,
and
each
sub-community
has
distinct
characteristics.
Sub-Community
plans
help
define
expectations
about
the
future
of
these
areas.
A
working
group
of
community
members
has
been
helping
the
city
throughout
the
planning
process
for
the
sub-community
plan.
The
city
is
currently
considering
three
concepts
for
the
plan:
centered
around
community
focus
areas
identified
in
the
boulder
valley,
comprehensive
plan.
These
areas
include
small
local
businesses,
housing,
affordability
and
diversity,
access
and
mobility
needs,
among
others.
A
The
city
would
like
to
have
the
community's
feedback
to
help
shape
these
concepts
and
craft
the
recommendations
for
moving
forward

Two
years
and
six
trips
later
firefighter
garcia
and
other
boulder
fire
department,
members,
along
with
the
international
firefighters
training
association,
have
been
able
to
provide
training
and
have
donated
numerous
gear
and
equipment
that
could
not
be
used
in
the
u.s
because
of
its
expiration,
but
in
good
workable
condition.
Nonetheless,.
B
We've
been
donating
about
150
bunker
sets
at
this
point.
We
have
some
some
boots,
but
we
also
have
a
lot
of
wildland
equipment,
jackets,
pants
and
also
we're
working
on
in
partnership
with
ifta
international
firefighter
training
association
to
build
to
donate,
hopefully,
fire
trucks
as
well.
A
B
I
just
feel
real
fortunate
to
be
in
the
city
of
boulder
because
boulder
embraces
diversity
and
culture,
and
I
think
it's
a
great
opportunity
that
what
we're
doing
now
to
be
able
to
meet
the
two
chiefs
and
just
to
be
able
to
move
on
forward
and
and
just
show
a
lot
of
support
for
one
another
and
just
get
better.
As
we
move
on
forward.
