Sustainability
was
the
focus
of
many
conversations
this
week
in
our
neighboring
city
of
Fort
Collins,
where
participants
from
15
countries
gathered
for
the
second

presenters
and
attendees
exchanged
ideas
about

an
emphasis

our

and
I'll
talk
a
little
bit
about
the

and
what
we

in

The
city
of
Boulder
fosters
an
environment
of
creative
collaboration,
helping
organizations
to
rally
talent
around
a
common
goal,

start-up
talent
to
bring
disaster
relief
to
the
local

D
Flood
relief
is
a
grassroots
organization
that
came
together
to
connect
the
volunteers
with
people
who
need
help.
We
were
started
as
a
group
of
people,
some
of
whom
had
connection
to
the
Occupy
movements
who
came
together
and
just
started
some
different
social
media
outlets
for
people
who
wanted
to
help
to
really
find
out
about
where
the
needs
were
where
they
could
get
out
and
start
helping
from
there.
We
created
a
website
and
started
taking
names
of
people
who
needed
help
and
people
who
wanted
help
and
just
worked
on
connecting
the
dots.
C
E
Have
an
idea:
I
have
an
idea:
we
connect
around
a
common
need
or
interest
in
this
case,
the
common
need
or
interest
was
helping.
Our
friends
and
neighbors
social
networks
like
Facebook
Twitter,
the
amount
of
texts
that
were
sent
back
and
forth.
All
of
these
things
I
think
afforded
people
the
ability
to
not
only
self-organized
but
to
begin
a
response.
We
see
that
a
lot
within
the
startup
community
after.
C
E
The
startups
recognized
a
need
to
give
before
you
get
and
in
this
instance
we're
all
having
to
give
in
order
to
help
and
what
we
get
in
return
is
a
value
on
service
and
I.
Think
a
community
that's
better
prepared
to
handle
the
next
incident,
whether
it
be
within

of

or
beyond,
