A
A
Hi
I'm,
Natalie
Wood,
it's
no
secret.
That
Boulder
is
one
of
the
nation's
most
sustainable
cities,
and
that
is
largely
due
to
the
efforts
of
the
city
and
community
to
reach
our
sustainability
goals
in
order
to
enable
more
boulder
businesses
and
commercial
property
owners
to
make
energy
efficiency
improvements.
The
city
is
providing
300,000
dollars
in
climate
action
plan
funds
for
rebates
through
the
energy
smart
program,
the
rebates
will
help
significantly
reduce
the
out-of-pocket
expense
to
Boulder
businesses,
making
upgrades
more
cost-effective.
A
The
energy
smart
program
also
provides
businesses
with
expert
advisors
to
help
assess
energy
saving
opportunities
and
utilize.
All
the
rebates
available
for
upgrades
inside
Boulder
News
spoke
with
Cara
mertz
of
the
local
environmental
action
division
about
how
the
program
helped
save
Boulder,
businesses,
money
and
energy.
The.
B
Folks
that
do
access
the
advisor
services
have
been
so
thankful
and
have
said
that
they
really
could
not
have
made
the
upgrades
or
may
understood
how
to
access
the
rebates.
If
it
wasn't
for
the
energy
advisors
service,
it
really
can't
save
money
over
time
if
you're,
wasting
less
energy
and
just
being
more
efficient
about
what
you're
using
and
so
both
in
the
business
processes.
The
energy
advisors
help
businesses
look
at
their
business
processes
and
their
business
operations
as
well
as
kind
of
what
we
call
the
building
envelope.
B
So
the
mechanical
systems
and
the
lighting
of
the
building
and
the
advisors
really
are
provide
technical
assistance
for
the
things
that
the
businesses
don't
have
time
to
pay
attention
to
and
can
help
walk
business
owners
and
leased
tenant
businesses
in
to
walk
through
upgrades
that
they
can
make
either
as
a
tenant
or
a
building
owner
to
you
know,
figure
out.
What's
going
to
be
the
most
cost
effective,
what's
the
payback
period
going
to
be
for
investments
and
there
really
are
unprecedented
levels
of
rebates
right
now,
those.
A
Limited
time,
energy,
smart,
commercial
rebates
will
be
issued
on
a
first-come,
first-served
basis
through
December
or
until
the
available
funds
have
been
allocated.
Since
the
program
began
in
November
2010,
nearly
900,000
dollars
has
been
used
to
fund
energy
efficiency
projects
throughout
Boulder.
County
spring
is
in
the
air
in
Boulder,
and
it's
easy
to
see
why
some
have
dubbed
our
beautiful
city
a
paradise
but
Boulder
native
Ryan
Van
Duzer
is
leaving
his
hometown
to
go
on
a
worldwide
hunt
for
his
ultimate
dream
destination.
Van
Duzer
was
chosen
to
host
the
travel.
Oriented.
C
People
come
to
discover
what
they've
heard
about.
Quite
often,
people
have
heard
about
Boulder
before
they
come
and
they
don't
quite
know
what
the
buzz
is
and
when
they
get
here
they
see
so
many
people
engaged
in
active
and
being
outdoors
that
that
really
gives
some
insight
to
I
hate
to
be
boastful.
But
we
do
have
so
many
great
things
to
do
here
that
people
will
get
active
and
get
outside,
so
they
do
come
and
you
know
they.
They
think
that
we
lead
a
pretty
wonderful
life.
A
wonderful.
A
D
A
C
Many
people
come
from
very
large
cities
and
for
them
to
be
able
to
be
in
downtown
boulder
or
along
the
creek
path
and
be
so
close
to
so
much
open
space.
That
is
paradise
because
you
know
they
may
come
from
canyons,
but
our
companions
are
rokform
canyons
they're,
not
canyons,
built
up
of
building,
so
it's
really
a
different
style.
So
when
you
start
walking
in
our
open
space
and
you've
not
been
involved
in
being
outdoors
with
so
much
open
space
around
you,
it
is
paradise
when.
D
I
got
this
job,
everybody
was
like
Ryan,
you
already
live
in
paradise,
bowler
is
paradise
and
I
agree
with
that.
I
absolutely
love.
Boulder
I
live
and
breathe,
Boulder
Colorado,
so
yes
I'm
sure
I'm
going
to
see
some
amazing
beauty
out
there.
The
boulder
colorado
will
always
be
my
home
it'll.
All
my
paradise
van.
A
Duzer
left
this
week
to
search
for
a
new
paradise,
a
hunt
that
he
says
may
prove
challenging
when
already
coming
from
a
city
of
great
people,
beauty
and
entertainment,
paradise
hunter
is
produced
by
the
Canadian
production
company.
Oln
van
duzer
says
the
show
has
yet
to
be
picked
up
by
an
American
channel,
but
paradise
hunter
is
slated
to
air.
