A
Welcome
to
inside
builder
news
I'm
Ashley
Prell
Google
broke
ground
on
this
new
300,000
square
foot
campus
last
week.
The
new
space
will
allow
Google
to
expand
from
the
current
300
employees
in
Boulder
to
as
many
as
1,500
over
the
next
10
years.
Officials
from
the
city
state
and
even
the
governor
came
to
take
part
in
the
ceremony
on.
B
All
these
programs,
we
are
partnering
with
counties
and
with
local
municipalities
like
Boulder
and
say
life.
You
guys
need
some
level
of
incentives
to
compete,
make
sure
these
jobs
don't
go
to
Nashville
or
Portland
Oregon,
so
that
kind
of
partnership
is
critical
and
I.
Think
right
now
we've
got
some
great
team
working
in
especially
the
denver
boulder
area,
but
also
add
montrose
and
Grand
Junction
down
Colorado
Springs
and
up
in
Fort
Collins
I
mean
we've
got
people
working
real
hard
to
make
sure
that
we've
got
these
jobs.
B
A
C
Done
a
part
of
Boulder
for
many
years
we
have
worked
for
a
long
time
constructed
in
this
project.
We
work
with
the
city
around
the
location,
identifying
where
the
mass
transit
can
be
close
to.
That
worked
a
lot
with
the
Transportation
Department
on
our
programs
to
encourage
alternate
transportation.
We
have
benefited
from
the
community
engagement
projects,
in
fact
better
with
some
of
the
impact
that
we
have
from
st.
planners.
A
Will
include
three
100,000
square
foot
buildings
that
will
be
four
stories
each
at
the
corner
of
30th
and
pearl
streets.
The
first
phase
will
include
the
completion
of
two
buildings
which
we
are
expected
to
be
done
by
the
first
quarter
of
2017
City
Council
and
planning
board
members
took
a
special
tour
of
the
city
last
week
to
look
at
some
of
the
projects
involved
in
the
capital
improvements
program.
The
capital
improvements
program
is
a
six-year
plan
for
public
physical
improvements,
ranging
from
flood
recovery
to
street
improvements.
D
Couple
of
the
big
projects
we
stopped
at
the
sanitas
valley
trail
a
lot
of
flood
improvements
happening
there.
We
also
stopped
up
at
the
newly
completed
Crestview
school,
the
Four
Mile
Canyon
Creek
area.
We're
going
to
be
doing
a
lot
of
planning
for
flood
improvements
in
the
next
couple
of
years,
so
there'll
be
a
full
public
process.
Thinking
about
flood
improvements
and
mobility,
improvements
and
street
improvements
all
through
that
area,
and
then
we
were
also
up
to
visit
the
newly
completed
wildland
fire
stations
by
our
new
fire
station.

15
years
in
the
making,
the
community
came
out
to
celebrate
the
completion
of
both
public
and
private
projects
at
boulder
junction.
This
week
the
open
house
showcased
the
new
rtd
bus
station
flat

flyer,
bus
pearl,
parkway,
multi-way,
boulevard,
solana,
3100
apartments,
Hyatt,
Place,
Hotel
and
more.
This.
E
Is
a
huge
day
for
the
city
for
over
15
years,
we've
been
planning
for
the
opening
of
boulder
junction
and
15
years
in
the
planning
is
really
a
long
time.
What
we
had
to
do
here
to
make
it
happen
is
to
collaborate
with
lots
of
different
private
sector
and
public
sector
partners,
and
that
makes
things
really
complicated,
but
it
also
makes
things
even
better.
This
is
a
project
that
was
really
hard
to
come
to
fruition,
but
RTD,
which
had
originally
planned
that
this
would
be
sort
of
a
suburban
bus.
E
Stop
kind
of
a
place
really
worked
with
us
and
turned
it
into
a
place
that
has
a
bus
station.
That's
very
similar,
Union
Station!
That's
going
to
have
a
lot
of
bus,
rapid
transit
service
that
is
actually
physically
beautiful
and
that
collaborates
across
the
public
and
private
sectors.
So
we've
gotten
a
beautiful
plaza.
E
F
Exciting
for
me,
I
live
in
Boulder
I'm,
raising
my
family
and
Boulder
I
just
moved
my
studio
to
boulder
and
I've
lived
here
for
15
years,
and
it's
just
a
massive
step
for
me
to
be
able
to
have
such
significant
piece
I
in
the
town
that
I
live
in
and
with
my
friends
and
family
to
share
it.
And
it's
just
it's
really
exciting.
For.

The
main
branch
of
the
boulder
library
has
a
brand
new,
hands-on
way
for
the
community
to
learn
about
edible
gardening.
Thanks
to
a
collaboration
between
the
library,
350,
Boulder,
County
and
Joe
Lustig
of
Lucius
leelocal,
an
edible
garden
was
planted
in
the
North
courtyard.
So.
G
H
And
we
have
a
combination
of
all
sorts
of
different
plants
in
the
front
wheat.
We
tried
to
do
a
lot
of
permaculture
gardening
techniques
that
actually
helped
to
reduce
the
need
for
water,
and
that
also
just
helped
to
reduce
the
need
for
pesticides
and
herbicides,
and
that
sort
of
thing.
So
we
did
a
lot
of
companion,
planting
plants
that
like
to
live
together
and
to
grow
together.
H
So
that's
more
of
like
your
tomatoes
and
your
peppers
eggplant
and
then
a
lot
of
what
we
think
of
as
the
Italian
seasoning
herbs
that
actually
like
to
grow
with
those
nightshade
family
herbs
a
lot
and
then
in
the
back
here
we
have
more
of
a
polyculture
which
Polly
cultures
are
basically
where
you
grow
a
lot
of
different
plants
together
in
a
community,
and
they
all
help
one
another
in
various
ways.
It's
kind
of
companion,
planting
plus,
and
so
you
have.
H
We
have
things
like
chamomile
in
there
that
help
attract
beneficial
insects
and
then
a
lot
of
nitrogen,
fixers
and
other
sorts
of
plants
that
do
different
specialized
things
and
help
one
another.
Basically,
this
is
a
communal
garden,
so
anybody
who
comes
by
and
they
see
a
tomato
or
a
pepper,
ready
or
some
basil
and
they
need
some
for
their
pesto-
are
welcome.
It's
it's
communal.
You.
G
Know
know
that
it's
okay
to
dig
the
dirt
and
get
things
planted
and
know
that
this
is
really
the
best
thing
for
our
community.
It
nourishes
us
and
allows
us
to
move
forward
into
the
future
sustainably
minimizes
carbon
by
not
having
to
ship
food
all
over
the
place,
and
also
it's
an
important
skill
for
everybody
to
have
some
sense
of
how
to
grow
something.
