Fire Station Tour - Inside Boulder, City of Boulder
A
B
A
B
We're
required
to
workout
every
day
for
about
an
hour
a
day
and
the
different
stations
will
do
different
things.
I'll
go
to
the
rec
centers
workout
for
an
hour
there
or
like
what
we
do
here
is
we
do
p90x,
which
is
a
home
video,
workout
program,
that's
more
military-style,
push-ups,
pull-ups,
weight,
training,
cardio
and
that's
pretty
much
what
we
do
to
stay
in
shape
with
the
Paracels
burger.
So.
A
B
We
throw
on
our
gear,
which
is
our
bunker
gear
here
and
we'll
put
on
boots
pants
coat
helmet
an
air
pack,
our
mask
and
we'll
have
tools
in
our
pockets
and
stuff
that
weighs
approximately
50
pounds
and
then
once
we're
all
bunked
up.
We'll
have
another
2530
pounds
that
we
add
on
with
hose
and
equipment
that
we
carry
for
like
a
forcible
entry
and
a
fire
in
case
someone's
no-one's
home
and
need
to
break
in
so.
A
B
Well,
we
check
it
every
day
as
soon
as
we
come
on
duty
and
we'll
check
the
equipment
and
the
air
breathing
apparatus
that
we
check
check
our
mouth
make
sure
it's
functioning
properly
and
check
our
gear
for
any
wear
and
tear
we'll
make
sure
that
it's
clean
after
any
incident,
hazardous
materials,
fire
we'll
make
sure
we
wash
it
and
it's
good
clean
condition.
So
we
don't
contaminate
ourselves
or
anybody
else.
So.
A
A
lot
of
maintenance
goes
into
taking
care
of
the
personal
gear.
I
think
what
our
audience
and
citizens
at
large,
probably
think
of
instantly
is
how
do
we
maintain
the
fire
trucks
and
I
know
we
were
talking
earlier
about
voter
has
to
respond
to
all
kinds
of
different
firefighting
incidents,
whether
it's
emergency
rest?
Whatever?
Can
you
talk
to
us
a
little
bit
about
what
kind
of
preventive
maintenance
into
the
big
equipment
that
might
be
used?
Sure.
B
A
B
We
have
a
training
center,
a
new
training
center
and
it's
a
great
training
center
for
training
for
structure
fires
or
high-rise,
building
fire
or
even
EMS
training.
We
do
a
lot
of
training
out
there
anywhere
from
two
to
five
hours
at
a
time
and
in
those
trainings
we'll
do
something
like
search-and-rescue
for
victims
in
a
burning
building.
We'll
have
live
fires
in
those
buildings.
Will
you
know
latter
the
buildings
and
hook
up
to
hydrants
use
our
hose,
go
in
they're
trained
for
the
fire,
putting
the
fire
out
and
then
rescuing
individuals
in
my
media,
so.
A
B
A
A
Thank
you
very
much
for
joining
us
on
inside
board,
say
to
learn
about
what
our
firefighters
do.
We've
been
speaking
with
Boulder
fired
lieutenant
Margaret
Adel
about
how
our
100
firefighters,
here
in
the
city
trained
for
every
type
of
incident
to
make
sure
the
city
is
safe,
you'll
be
back
with
more
inside
Boulder.
After
this.
