Description
Utilizing Open Data Dashboards on a Mobile Device
A
Hi,
my
name
is
katie
bridges,
I'm
a
senior
data
analyst
with
the
city
of
boulder's
I.t
department,
and
today
I'm
going
to
be
talking
about
navigating
open
data
dashboards
on
a
mobile
device.
Another
video
has
been
created
on
navigating
open
data
dashboards
on
a
desktop
device
and
that
one
again
focuses
on
this
same
dashboard.
Our
boulder
police
department,
offenses
on
a
mobile
device
which
what
we're
previewing
here
is
an
iphone
6,
7
or
8..
A
A
And
so
you
have
a
few
more
limited
options,
and
so,
if
you
want
expanded
options,
you
can
always
view
this
on
a
desktop
on
mobile.
The
two
filters
you
will
have
will
be
for
a
specific
date,
so
you
could
look
for
the
past
seven
days.
You
could
look
for
the
past
30
90
or
choose
on
a
calendar
specific
dates
you
are
interested
in
and
you
can
also
choose
offense
types.
So
if
you
were
interested
in
a
particular
type
of
offense,
you
could
choose
that
I'm
going
to
go
ahead
and
collapse.
A
This
left
hand
side
here,
so
we
are
looking
at
all
offenses
that
have
occurred
in
the
last
seven
days.
Within
the
mobile
view
map
you
still
have
the
search
functionality,
so
you
could
search
for
a
particular
location,
as
we
did
in
the
desktop
view.
If
I
chose
to
search
for
the
boulder
public
library,
I
would
have
these
options
pop
up.
I'm
going
to
choose
our
main
library
at
arapahoe
and
I
can
see
the
offenses
that
have
occurred
around
there.
A
If
I
click
on
a
particular
dot
in
the
mobile
view.
What
will
happen
is
I
will
see
the
type
of
offense
that
it
was
so
it
will
say,
motor
vehicle
theft.
If
I
want
information
on
this
motor
vehicle
theft,
I
actually
need
to
click
on
the
title
of
that
offense
and
I
will
get
more
information
about
it.
So
I
can
see
here
that
on
july
29th
at
9
05
am
on
the
1600
block
of
broadway.
A
A
A
This
is
giving
us
a
trend
over
those
seven
days,
so
we
can
see
over
that
time
period
when
we
saw
the
most
offenses
and
when
we
saw
the
least,
and
it
will
also
show
the
top
five
over
those
seven
days.
So
if
we
chose
to
filter
this
and
go
back
past
30,
we
would
see
the
line
chart,
change
the
total
number
of
offenses
change
and
the
top
five
offenses
change.
A
That
would
also
be
reflected
on
our
map.
We
would
see
more
points
and
if
I
zoom
back
out
we'll
see
all
of
the
points
for
the
past
30
days
again,
the
functionality
on
mobile
is
fairly
limited
and
that
is
to
maximize
the
experience
on
mobile
for
more
functionality
feel
free
to
watch
the
video
on
the
bpd
offenses
dashboard
for
desktop.
