Description
City of Boulder - Inside Boulder Flatirons Golf
A
B
It's
always
been
owned
by
the
city,
but
it's
been
managed
by
a
number
of
different
entities
like
the
boulder
municipal
sports,
complex
boulder
country
club
flatiron's
country
club.
But
since
1985
the
city
of
boulder
has
owned
and
operated
it
completely
as
a
as
a
public
golf
course.
A
B
B
There
are
a
lot
of
chances
to
play
golf
here.
We
do
small
group
lessons
to
private
lessons
to
big
programs
like
we
have
one
of
a
nationally
recognized
junior
golf
program
here
at
flatirons.
B
Well,
our
chip
shots
program,
which
is
an
offshoot
of
our
junior
program,
actually
starts
kids
at
age
four
and
gave
a
lesson
last
summer
to
a
guy
who
was
94..
So
some
four
to
94
is
where
we're
our
kind
of
our
our
comfort
zone.
A
B
Yeah
we
host
a
variety
of
tournaments
throughout
the
year,
our
our
main
tournament
that
we
host
every
year
is
the
boulder
city,
amateur,
there's,
a
junior
division,
a
net
division
and
a
championship
and
also
a
senior
championship.
B
Well,
the
the
tournament's
been
held
in
boulder
since
1925..
We
actually
have
a
legacy
trophy
up
in
the
in
the
golf
shop
that
lists
all
the
winners
since
1925
and
you'll
see
names
that
have
played
the
pga
tour
all
over
it,
such
as
jonathan
k,
steve
jones,
hail,
irwin,
they've,
all
won
the
boulder
city,
amateur.
A
B
B
We
take
public
tea
times,
10
days
in
advance,
so
we
need
more
notice
than
10
days,
but
we
could
pull
it
together,
pretty
fast,
pretty
fast
and
we
have
in
the
past,
but
most
events
will
plan
out
six
months
or
so
in
advance
and
they
can
go
to
our
website
at
flatironsgolf.com
and
get
a
tournament
brochure
and
read
up
on
it
or
just
give
us
a
call
we're
open
every
every
time.
The
sun
is
up
we're
here.
Answering
the
phone
at
442-7851.
A
B
Oh,
that's
true:
it's
all
about
values,
really,
we've
always
valued
on
environmental
responsibility
here
at
the
golf
course
and
really
for
the
past
20
years,
you
know,
being
part
of
the
city,
we've
operated
on
under
very
strict
environmental
responsibility
guidelines
and
really
getting
the
audubon
certification
kind
of
puts
a
stamp
of
approval
on
what
we've
always
done
here.
A
B
It
is
it,
is,
you
know,
november,
through
february.
We
call
that
our
season
of
opportunity
and
in
colorado
you
know,
there's
a
lot
of
opportunity,
usually
in
the
winter,
a
lot
of
60
degree
days
and
and
we're
usually
open
half
of
every
month
throughout
the
winter.
