Description
A Public Service Announcement from the City of Boulder Police Department on internet safety
A
I,
kids
and
the
Internet
the
possibilities
are
both
exciting
and
endless,
but
they
can
also
be
scary.
These
days,
predators
no
longer
need
a
crowbar
to
enter
your
home.
In
some
cases,
all
they
need
is
a
child
behind
the
family's
computer.
Parents
could
take
a
variety
of
steps
to
help
keep
their
children
safe
first
place
the
family's
computer
in
a
visible
location,
not
in
a
child's
bedroom,
use
gender-neutral
screen
names
when
online
spend
time
with
your
child
online
and
get
to
know
the
friends
they
are
communicating
with
on
the
computer.
A
Learn
internet
lingo
maintain
access
to
your
child's
email
accounts
and
personalized
web
pages,
such
as
myspace
and
Facebook
never
allow
your
children
to
meet
with
someone
they
met
online
without
a
parent
present
make
certain.
The
meeting
is
in
a
public
place
and
during
the
day
and
finally,
teach
your
children
about
the
dangers,
encourage
them
to
come
forward
with
any
concerns
they
may
have
helped
us
help.
You
keep
your
children
safe,
be
involved.
