B
Great
great-
and
it
looks
like
we've-
got
everybody
here
good
afternoon.
This
is
the
july
18
2022
real
estate
committee
meeting
it's
about
10
after
three
and
let's
get
things
started
with
an
invocation,
councilman
waring.
If
you
would
be
so
kind.
C
Thank
you
kel,
mr
chairman.
B
Amen,
thank
you.
Councilman
waring.
First
item
on
the
agenda
is
approval
of
the
june
21st
got
a
motion
on
the
floor
right
here.
Second,
properly
moved
in.
Second,
all
in
favor,
please
signify
by
saying
aye
aye
aye.
The
motion
passes
minutes
are
approved.
C
Gm
approval
and
we
can
get
it
on
for
discussion,
so
I
mean.
C
B
Chairman
great
moved
and
properly
seconded,
and
now
we
are
open
for
discussion.
E
Sure
that's
going
to
be
myself
councilman
bell,
so
this
is
the
second
extension
of
the
mou
for
the
epic
center.
It
has
been:
we've
been
working
closely
between
city
of
charleston,
county
of
charleston
and
the
development
team
with
epic
center
to
make
sure
that
we're
properly
looking
at
their
stormwater
plans
as
they
move
through.
E
The
mou
was
created
to
basically
put
on
notice
that
the
city
and
the
developer
will
be
entering
into
a
later
agreement
for
the
tif
district
to
help
pay
for
both
storm
water
improvements,
as
well
as
affordable
housing
improvements
on
site.
So
what
this
is
doing
is
giving
us
another
year
to
continue
these
negotiations.
E
The
stormwater
component
has
proved
very
complex
as
we
move
through
it,
so
it
has
taken
a
bit
more
time
than
anticipated,
but
we're
fairly
certain
that
within
the
next
year,
we're
going
to
be
able
to
come
forward
with
stormwater
agreements
and
then
move
forward
on
the
rest
of
what
these
this
mou
has
written
in.
It.
B
Got
it
got
it?
Thank
you,
mr
pullman.
Does
anybody
from
the
committee
have
any
questions
or
any
discussion
items.
C
I
do
have
one,
mr
chairman:
are
there
any
hurdles
that
I'm
keeping
this?
I
guess
I'll
ask
this
to
the
mayor
from
I
guess
working
this
agreement
out.
I
think
we've
been
trying
to
do
it.
What
about
two
years,
mr
here
on
any,
I
guess.
F
G
G
I
don't
think
so.
Council
member,
this
particular
drainage
plan,
didn't
come
forward
until
this
past
year
and
there
were
some
initial
hurdles
because
of
ownership
issues
with
the
property
as
you're,
aware
three
or
so
of
the
major
vendors
out
there
own
their
own
property
and
so
to
have
the
right
for
the
drainage.
Easement
I
understand
was
was
a
hiccup
but
eric.
G
I,
I
think,
we've
kind
of
worked
past
that
issue,
but
that
that
did
that
was
a
hurdle
for
a
while
and
led
to
some
delay,
and
I,
I
think
we're
we're
making
pretty
good
progress
on
it.
Now
and-
and
if
I
may
say
it's,
it's
it's
a
nice
plan
that
would
open
up,
have
open
drainage
rather
than
enclosed
or
piped,
and
would
provide
an
opportunity,
for
you
know
almost
like
a
public
amenity
with
with
some
some
access
to
to
to
a
little
stream.
If
you
will
of
running
water.
G
It's
funny
I
was
with
the
mayor
of
san
antonio,
the
other
day.
I
don't
know
if
you've
ever
been
there
they've
made,
you
know
an
incredible
economic
development.
Out
of
this,
it
was
no
more
than
a
drainage
ditch
that
they
turned
into
their
acclaimed
river
walk,
I
mean
been
there,
there's
very
little
water
flowing
through
that
they
built
all
around
it
and
and
when
they
first
proposed
this
idea,
I
thought
of
san
antonio,
because
you
could
literally
have
that
kind
of
acclaim
go
go
along
with
the
drainage
system.
B
B
Great
well,
let's
hope
that
the
folks
over
at
the
epic
center
can
keep
this
project
moving
forward.
I
think
it's
a
real
tremendous
opportunity
for
the
city
next
item
on
the
agenda
is
a
request
to
approve
a
third
amendment
to
the
management
agreement
between
the
city
of
charleston
and
the
charleston
digital
corridor
foundation
for
lease
space
at
22
west
edge
on
a
month-to-month
basis
for
no
more
than
12
months.
C
B
We
got
a
motion
in
a
second
on
the
floor
who,
from
our
staff,
is
here
today
to
opine
on
this
one.
A
Chairman
appel,
I'm
happy
to
speak
about
it,
this
one's
really
straightforward.
It's
the
the
only
change
in
this
amendment
is
to
extend
the
the
month
to
month
term
for
an
additional
12
months.
We
still
have
the
low
country
center
for
veterans,
research
and
as
a
sub-tenant
and
things
are,
things
are
actually
really
good
there.
I
think
matt
furlock,
unfortunately
couldn't
be
with
us
today,
but
the
last
we
spoke
about
this
last
week,
we're
pretty
close.
A
I
think
they're
breaking
even
at
this
point
and
they're
a
great
tenant,
obviously
doing
important
work,
so
they
have
expressed
interest
in
continuing
to
stay.
They
are
under
release
through
next
may
and
are
already
in
discussions
to
try
to
extend
so
we're
in
good
shape.
Right
now,.
B
G
In
addition
to
it
being
an
even
financial
deal,
we
also
help
facilitate
medical
reverse
research,
particularly
on
the
brain
and
on
brain
health.
They're
really
doing
great
work
there.
So,
just
as
an
aside,
some
good
things
are
happening
in
our
space.
B
D
B
D
B
Hi
all
right
that
up
that
that
approved
this
all
pertains
to
a
joint
county
industrial
park
between
charleston
county
colin
county
who's
got
the
honor
of
giving
us
some
talking
points
on
this.
A
Actually
this
one,
this
one
was
a
product
of
work
from
jeremy
cook
and
amy
wharton.
So
I
honestly
don't
know
anything
about
this
resolution
and
jeremy
is
not
on
this
call.
Amy.
Are
you
available
or
are
you
unable
to
mute.
I
Properties
that
they've
asked
to
be
put
into
this
multi
county
park
district-
one
of
them,
is
in
a
tif
district,
so
it
would.
It
would
reduce
the
assessed
value
that
would
go
into
the
tip,
but
the
funding
will
still
go
into
the
tip
and
the
other
is
flagship
and
then
there's
a
piece
of
property
on
john's
island
as
well.
G
I
I
I
D
B
No
worries
no
worries
is
this
in
relation
to
a
economic
development
project.
That's
already
up
and
running,
I
mean.
Is
this
a?
Is
this
a
industry
that
we
know
about,
or
I'm
just
trying
to
get
a
little
bit
more
background
on
who
this
is
for.
I
It's
an
agreement
that
they
really
have
with
charleston
county,
but
it's
a
it's
a
multi-county
park.
It's
basically
more
like
you
could
think
of
it
as
fianlu,
basically,
is
what
it
is
and
that's
they
set
it
up
through
this
carlton
county
multi-county
park
resolution
sort
of
thing,
but
it
gives
it
gives
them
some
tax
parts,
basically,
is
what
it
is.
I
Yeah,
it's
the
four
properties
that
are
in
the
it's,
the
three
flagship
buildings
and
then
the
the
vic
or
scientific,
that's
out
on
john's
island.
B
G
So
I'm
I'm
just
looking
at
our
printed
material
here
and
I
don't
see
john
ireland,
oh
yeah,
I
do
now.
I
think
it's
the
parcel
and
that's
on
the
airport,
barzan
yeah.
I
got
that
then
then
the
other
one
includes
both
vikor
scientific.
That
I
believe
is
in
west
edge.
G
B
G
And
then
that
new
office
building
ctc
the
charleston
technology
center,
it
would
seem
to
me
that
would
be
a
if
you
took
that
whole
building
out
of
the
the
it
takes
the
whole
plat
of
of
that
does
it
take
the
whole
plat
of
of
10
or
or
99
that
whole
building
where
vicor
is.
G
At
the
at
west
edge,
it
would
seem
to
me
that
be
a
pretty
large
impact
on
the
property
tax.
I'm
just
I
know
you
said
it
wouldn't
be
that
much,
but
I'm
curious
to
know
how
much
given
the
size
of
those
two
buildings.
F
I
C
G
C
Well,
let
me
ask
this:
I
mean
I'm
fine
with
voting
approval.
You
know
obviously
depending
amy's
numbers
so
anyway,.
G
I
B
It,
and
just
just
so
I'm
clear
the
reason
city
approval
is
needed
here
is
because
these
properties
are
within
a
tif
district
and
that's
why
we're
required
to
have
to
approve
this,
because
normally
we
don't
get
involved
in
like
fee
and
lieu
agreements
and
things
of
that
nature
right.
That's
a
county
thing.
I
C
H
H
Can
we
at
least
get
a
a
paragraph
or
two
explanation
of
this
next
time,
because
we're
looking
for
every
tif
dollar
we
can
get
and
all
these
all
these
districts-
and
you
know
I'm
not
sure
my
vote
would
have
changed
any,
but
I
certainly
would
like
to
have
a
little
more
information
beforehand.
I
just
assume
this
is
just
a
rather
routine
trend.
We've
done
this
before
I
didn't
see
any
issue
with
it,
but
now
we
hit
the
pause
button.
B
Got
it
got
it
financial
impact
assessment
or
something
like
that?
Something
like
that?
Yes
good
deal
all
right,
so
I
believe
the
motion
is
on
the
floor
to
approve
with
the
hope
of
getting
some
additional
information
by
tomorrow's
city
council
meeting
any
further
discussion.
B
All
right,
all
in
favor,
please
signify
by
saying
aye
aye
all
opposed
hearing
none.
The
motion
passes
with
respect
to
both
c
and
d,
and
we
appreciate
the
staff
helping
us
out
with
those
other
items,
so
we
get
a
better
sense
of
what's
going
on
here.
Item
e
on
the
agenda:
this
is
chairman,
yes
councilman.
I
see
mr
mr
bleecker
on
yeah.
I.
H
Just
wanted,
I,
I
don't
think
I
need
to
recuse
myself
from
this,
but
I
will
out
of
abundance
fortune.
John
bleecker
is
a
law
firm.
We
are
in
the
same
office,
he
is
a
a
tenant
of
mine,
but
I
have
no
no
affiliation
with
his
clients
on
this
particular
one
and
no
monetary
benefit
or
disadvantage.
H
I
guess
it's
gonna
be
paying
healthcare
as
well,
but
so
I
just
wanted
to
julie
thinks
I
need
to
accuse
myself.
I
will,
but
I
don't
think
I
need
to,
but
I
just
want
to.
B
Okay,
thank
you.
Thank
you.
Councilman
shade
item
e
is
a
request
to
authorize
the
mayor
to
execute
a
lease
agreement
between
the
marina
variety
store
incorporated
in
the
city
of
charleston,
and
I
see
that
mr
john
bleecker
is
on
the
zoom
call
right
now.
I
believe
he
represents
the
marina
variety
store
and
we
certainly
want
to
recognize
him
and
give
him
an
opportunity
to
speak
or
answer
any
questions
that
may
come
up
this
afternoon,
but
perhaps
we'll
we
can
get
a
brief
summary
from
from
our
staff.
B
Regarding
this,
this
request.
A
Thank
you,
chairman
appel,
so
this
has
been
in
front
of
you
before.
However,
there
were
some
items
that
the
tenant
would
like
to
change
on
this
lease
prior
to
signing
it
in
their
minor.
The
first
is
allowing
the
tenant
the
right
to
terminate
without
cause
with
120
days
notice
to
the
city.
A
The
second
would
be
a
requirement
that
if
the
city
plans
to
use
that
property
for
the
purposes
of
the
sea
wall,
we
would
need
to
give
them
a
year's
notice,
which
we
feel
that
we
can
adequately
accommodate
that
request,
and
those
are
the
two
changes,
mr
bleaker,
if
you
want
to
throw
in
or
add
anything,
you're
welcome
to
it.
B
G
B
Well,
for
those
that
don't
know
or
for
those
that
are
watching
on
youtube,
the
marina
variety
store
is
a
charleston
institution
and
just
a
really
really
great
place.
My
grandpa
used
to
go
there
and
had
a
little
breakfast
crew
that
he
would
meet
with
a
lot
of
the
big
shops
around
downtown
and
it
was
a
a
tradition
for
them
for
years.
So
it's
always
a
been
a
special
place
for
me.
B
H
Mr
jim,
if
you
want
to
find
mr
engel
he's,
usually
there
for
lunch-
oh
yeah
and
nice,
yes-
and
I
can't
tell
you
how
many
deals
were
cut
from
businesses-
that
one
of
those
are
one
of
those
boots.
B
Absolutely
absolutely
it's
a
really
really
cool
place.
Any
further
discussion
hearing,
none
all
in
favor,
please
signify
by
saying
aye
aye
all
opposed
hearing
none
the
motion
passes.
Thank
you,
mr
bleaker,
and
it
was
a
pleasure
seeing
you
today
all
right
take
care
all
right.
We're
moving
right
along
here.
Almost
almost
at
the
bottom
of
the
page.
Here.
Item
f
is
approval
request
for
approval
of
a
permit
with
the
national
park
service
for
the
first
day,
festival
scheduled
for
sunday
august
7th.
B
Got
a
motion
and
a
second
on
the
floor.
Who's
got
the
honor
of
giving
a
little
brief
rundown
on
this
one.
F
Hi,
this
is
mindy
sturm
I
can.
I
can
let
you
all
know
more
about
the
event
and
any
legal
backup
from
julia
would
be
appreciated,
but
this
is
our
annual
back
to
school
festival,
and
so
we
have
executed
this
permit
for
many
years
now,
and
so
it's
with
the
national
park
service
for
use
of
the
liberty
square
area
and
we'll
have
exhibitors
down
there
and
the
south
carolina
aquarium
will
be
free
during
the
hours
of
the
festival.
So
this
is
the
the
same
agreement
as
we've
entered
into
in
your
step.
B
Great
great,
thank
you
for
providing
that
information.
We
appreciate
it
any
discussion
or
questions.
B
All
right
hearing,
none,
let's
get
a
vote
all
in
favor,
please
signify
by
saying
aye,
aye
aye
all
opposed
hearing,
none
the
eyes
have
it
item
g.
B
Got
a
motion
in
a
second:
this
is
a
request
for
a
second
amendment
to
the
mou
between
the
city
of
charleston
and
landmark
enterprises
regarding
sumar
street.
I
assume
this
is
in
mr
pullman's
portfolio
so
have
at
it.
E
All
right,
yes,
sir,
it
is,
we
are
requesting
an
extension
for
the
mou.
The
original
mou
was
written
from
september
to
may
and
then
our
first
extension
was
from
may
to
early
august.
We
are
coming
up
very
closely
on
being
able
to
complete.
What's
within
the
mou
in
terms
of
project
scope,
however,
the
sumar
street
project
will
not
be
at
the
technical
review
committee
until
august
1st,
which
would
not
have
given
us
enough
time
to.
D
E
To
adequately
prepare
a
cost
estimate
and
guaranteed
max
price,
which
is
part
of
the
mou,
so
we're
requesting
a
extension
of
75
days
and
with
anticipation
that
we
won't
need
all
75
to
complete
both
of
those
items.
But
it
does
does
give
us
some
wiggle
room
in
there.
B
Understood.
Thank
you,
mr
pullman
councilman
shane.
H
Thank
you,
mr
chairman,
and
most
of
us
are
very
familiar
with
this.
This
project,
the
team
is,
I
see
the
team
on
here
from
landmark,
they've
been
working
very
diligently
with
us.
I've
met
with
them
on
numerous
occasions.
They
met
with
the
mayor
staff
on
numerous
occasions,
they've
been
in
front
of
revitalization
commission.
I
think
council
and
several
other
group
citizen
groups
to
run
this
through.
So
this
is
not
like
the
dragon
defeat
or
this
holding
back.
H
This
has
been
really
a
hard
push
to
get
all
this
taken
care
of,
and
I
think
when
they
came
to
us
they
wanted.
I
could
for
the
mix
engine
very
correct
me
if
I'm
wrong,
but
I
think
they
wanted
a
180
days.
Initially
we
cut
that
back
and
we
didn't
promise
them
anything,
but
we
thought
we
just
want
to
make
sure
that
they
were
keeping
their
feet
to
the
fire
in
which
they
have
been
doing
it.
H
I
I
don't
like
extensions
on
this
project,
because
I've
been
moaning
and
growing
it
about
it
getting
more
on
a
faster
track.
They
know
that,
but
we're
getting
closer
and
closer
by
the
day,
and
I
appreciate
the
hard
work
that
the
staff
has
done
with
this
and
and
our
partners
with
us.
So
I
would
urge
my
council
members
to
join
me
in
approving
this
amendment.
B
All
right
mayor,
councilman
greg,
you
all
got
anything
on
this
one
all
good
to
go
all
right.
Let's,
let's
punch
the
clock,
give
them
give
them
75
more
days.
Hopefully
they
don't
need
all
of
it
all
in
favor,
say
hi
hi
all
opposed
hearing,
none
the
eyes
have
it
and
we
are
about
to
get
consider
a
slew
of
annexations.
B
I
see
miss
jones
on
the
on
the
screen
here,
but
before
we
get
started,
I
need
to
note
for
the
record.
I
have
to
recuse
myself
from
items
h
I
and
h
double
I
so
the
first
two
items
but
other
than
that,
I'm
good
to
go
and
I
think.
B
I
I
do
do
we
have
a
former
real
estate
chair
that
might
might
be
willing
to
take
those
two
over.
I
think
I
want.
H
So
we
have
on
the
agenda
items
one
I
double
I
triple
line
four
five
and
six.
I
would
certainly
entertain
a
motion
that
we
accept
all
of
these.
Well,
let's
do
three
four
or
five
and
six
together
such
councilmember
vote
on
it.
With
the
caveat
and
exclamation
point
and
district
nine
has
got
three
properties
coming
in
needs,
a
way,
that's
mine,
so
I'm.
C
H
J
Single-Family
residences
they're
all
flood
zone
x,
elevation
of
at
least
10
feet
and
nothing
crazy.
Going
on
with
those.
D
H
Any
opposed
yeah,
I
just
have
it
all
right:
councilman
rappel,
you
still,
you
don't
have
to
be
off
the
kicked
off
the
the
island
now
so
items
I
in
double.
I
I'll
entertain
a
motion
to
adopt
those
states.
H
Thank
you
for
a
second
molly
anything
about
the
executive
property.
J
So
with
did
you
say
I
one
or
two.
J
H
All
right
we
are,
I
appreciate
I've
been
in
contact
with
jones
about
our
efforts,
and
we
were
on
a
conference
call
this
morning
earlier
today
about
some
other
properties
and
appreciate
the
effort
that
she's
putting
into
annexation
councilman.
Where
is
that
you,
like
you,
ready
to
ask
a
question,
I.
C
Do
but
I
do
you
really
come
to
know
me.
I
I'd
like
to
put
a
request
on
for
the
next
council
real
estate
meeting.
If
we
can
get
a
a
figure,
maybe
as
a
matter.
C
Helen
hill
is
calling
me
right
now.
Maybe
we
can
get
this
information
from
the
cvb,
how
many
hotels,
restaurants
and
bars
that
we
have
west
ashley
or,
frankly,
commercial
building
office,
buildings,
retail
outputs
that
are
not
in
the
city
of
charles
I'd,
certainly
like
to
know
how
many
I
mean
hotels,
how
many
restaurants
and
certainly
bars
that
exist
west,
actually
that
are
not
in
the
city
proper.
H
H
B
Absolutely
thank
you
councilman
shay
for
taking
taking
the
reins
there
well
done,
as
always,
councilman
warren.
Do
you
want
to
well,
I
mean
I
think.
C
But
yeah,
I
just
want
to
know
how
many
again
restaurants,
bars
and
certainly
hotels
that
exist
west
ashley,
that
that
are
not
in
the
city
of
charleston
in
particular,
and
I
know
I'm
leaving
some
out.
For
example,
the
many
y'all
may
be
familiar
with
the
amish
furniture
store,
which
is
on
sam
rittenberg
billavon.
C
It
went
into,
I
think
it
was
an
old
furniture
store,
it
could
have
been
a
mechanic
shop,
but
they
did
a
wonderful
job
renovating
it.
I
felt
a
sense
of
pride.
It
was
right
around
the
corner
from
from
my
office,
but
it's
in
the
psd,
so
we
get
no
revenues
from
that.
So
anyway,
I
thought
it
would
be
good,
especially.
I
want
to
give
eric
coleman
all
kudos,
a
very
good
meeting.
Eric
was
at
it
west
ashley.
Revitalization,
mr
chairman,
you
had
a
good
meeting.
C
Well,
attended,
I
think
they
were
positive,
take
takeaways
by
all
but
wonderful
presentation
by
mr
molasses
and
his
family
and
his
team
on
what
I
call
a
four-star
hotel.
First
of
his
type
coming
west
ashley,
mr
greg
you'd
be
interested
to
know
you
all.
Don't
even
have
a
hotel
like
this
on
that
on
daniel
island.
So
I
feel
kind
of
encouraged
by
that
coming.
Wes
ashley
and
some
of
the
allies
they've
been
encouraged
to
come
as
a
result
of
building
it,
but
again
it's
being
built
on
a
parcel.
C
J
C
C
C
I
think
we
need
to
look
at.
I
think
we
need
to
look
at
our
strategy.
This
is
something
that
I
may
mention
to
councilman
shahid
about.
Well,
I
don't
know.
A
month
ago,
two
days
ago,
we've
had
an
ongoing
conversation,
then
a
number
across
streets
that
are
in
the
design,
corridor
review
auspices
and
for
whatever
reason,
as
some
of
those
business
people
have
bought
properties
and
subsequently
revitalized.
Those
properties.
C
They've
looked
at
the
city
kicked
the
tires
and
said
you
know
what
I'm
going
to
keep
it
in
the
in
the
county
and
they'll
annex
to
the
city,
and
I've
talked
to
a
couple
of
them,
and
some
of
it
is
the
additional
requirements
of
the
design
corridor
review
board.
So
you
say
well
what
does
that?
Do
we
have
no
control
over
those?
We
have
no
input
in
those
developments.
We
can't
even
say
whether
we
want
a
an
azalea
planet
to
the
right
or
rules
bush
planet
to
the
left.
C
So
I
don't
really
see
that
the
good
that
it
does.
I
understand
in
some
places
we
need,
but
in
particular
recently
we
tore
down
some
houses
on
connington
avenue
in
the
city
of
charleston
and
we
needed
that
flexibility,
but
yeah,
I'm
for
that,
but
we
don't
have
that
flexibility
west
ashley
in
these
areas,
so
I
mean
we
can
keep
our
pride
and
say
we're
not
going
to
amend
this
thing,
but
you
know
what
the
reality
is.
Is
the
world
is
moving
on
without
us
and
in
that
tax
base?
C
We're
just
missing
out
on
we're
just
not
getting
so
I
think,
by
getting
this
information,
we
can
come
up
with
some
calculations
to
see
whether
certain
strategies
that
we
can
help
miss
jones
with
and
somehow
relationships
talk
to
some
of
these
owners
and
point
out
some
of
the
advantages.
C
C
B
Well,
thank
you
for
that
recommendation.
Councilman
waring.
I
think
that's
very
wise
to
try
to
identify
some
top
recruits
and
try
to
go
into
their
living
room
and
make
the
pitch
and
try
to
get
them
to
sign
on
national
signing
day.
I
think
that's
the
idea
here.
Councilman
shape.
H
Thank
you,
mr
chairman
councilman,
and
I
and
county
council
member
moody
were
president
at
this
presentation
last
wednesday
and
just
to
fill
in
a
little
bit
more
details
that
councilman
warren
has
made
it
to
us.
H
C
H
D
H
Of
parking
spots,
I
think
it's
close
to
400
as
well,
so
when,
when
you,
when
you
take
an
undeveloped
chunk
of
land,
this
is
this
property,
and
I
don't
mean
a
disparage
to
that.
But
it's
just
it's
awful
lucky,
there's
graffiti
on
the
building.
It's
overgrown,
it
is.
It
is
a
gross
eyesore
out
on
savannah
highway,
and
here
we
have
a
potential
investor
who
owns
a
property
and
it's
going
to
sink
a
ton
of
money
into
this
thing,
and
so
we
would
take
a
future
property.
That's
got.
H
Some
value
are
some
some
good
value,
but
once
you
construct
whatever
mr
colossus
plans
on
it,
I
think
that
the
tax
value
of
that
is
going
to
go
up
significantly
and
if
it's
not
in
the
city,
we're
going
to
miss
out
on
just
a
property
tax
loan,
then
you
calculate
and
these
discussions
we've
been
having
with
staff
members.
Then
you
calculate
the
loss,
revenue
from
hospitality
and
accommodation,
tax
and
business
license
tax.
On
top
of
that,
that's
a
lot
of
money.
The
city
is
losing
out
on
and
we
need
to
be
aggressive
about
this.
H
We
need
to
be
identifying
these
properties,
just
as
councilman
has
pointed
out.
There's
a
lot
more
of
this
out
there
and
trust
me
when
a
call
goes
out
or
fire
or
police
the
police
department
and
the
fire
department
are
not
going
to
look
at
the
map
and
say
I'm
sorry,
this
isn't
a
county
and
it's
the
san
diego's
public
servant.
H
We
need
to
be
intercepting
this
and
being
very
aggressive
about
getting
commercial
properties,
especially
undeveloped,
commercial
properties,
and
have
this
kind
of
potential
in
into
the
city,
and
I've
had
some
very
good
conversations
with
with
jones
earlier
and
with
with
eric
as
well,
and
I
appreciate
chestnut
ware
in
bringing
this
up
because
we
have
got
to
get
on
our
on
our
horse.
With
this
thing,
it's
not
galloping
as
quickly
as
we
can,
because,
once
this
happens
once
this,
this
property
takes
off.
H
It's
going
to,
we
know
it's
going
to
have
a
positive
ripple
effect
adjoining
properties,
and
we
need
to
make
sure
that
we're
ahead
of
the
game
and
not
playing
catch
up
with
them
to
try
to
get
those
into
into
our
full.
So
that's
what
I'm
wearing!
Thank
you
for,
bringing
that
back
up
again
and
a
good
discussion
about
it
and
hope
we
can.
We
can
carry
forward
with
where
we're
headed
with
this
thing.
Thank
you.
Thank
you,
mr
chairman.
B
Absolutely
great
points
there
councilman
shade
and
since
we've
got
a
few
minutes
before
public
works
starts
I'll
I'll,
maybe
chime
in
here
a
little
bit
and.
B
Further,
my
my
recruitment
analogy
that
I
was
laboring
through
a
minute
ago.
You
know
it's
sort
of
a
bit
of
a
competition
when
you're
talking
about
developers
and
whether
they
stay
in
their
current.
B
You
know
unincorporated
status
or
whether
they
come
into
the
city
of
charleston,
and
we
need
to
find
a
way
both
with
respect
to
that
project,
specifically
councilman
shade
and
more
generally,
we
need
to
make
it
attractive
for
people
to
come
into
the
city
and
unfortunately
we
don't
have
the
ability,
like
you
know,
when
states
are
battling
to
see
where
the
next
toyota
plant
is
coming,
we
don't
have
the
ability
to
float.
You
know
hundreds
of
millions
of
dollars
in
corporate
handouts
and
things
like
we.
B
We
can't
play
in
that
game,
but
we
can
play
in.
You
know
our
lane,
which
includes
things
like,
for
example,
our
our
our
zoning
and
regulatory
approval
processes.
I
can
tell
you-
and
I
got
nothing
but
love
for
my
friends
at
charleston
county
trust
me
when
I
say
this,
but
I've
represented
some
folks
over
the
years
that
have
had
real
challenges
getting
through
their
process.
B
What's
going
to
work
for
the
city,
navigate
that
through
the
process,
we
could
save
a
an
investment
group
and
a
development
group
a
year
in
you
know
the
regulatory
process
that
has
direct
tangible
financial
benefits
to
those
folks,
especially
when
you're
looking
at
the
you
know
economic
storm
clouds
on
the
horizon
that
we're
dealing
with
right
now.
So
that's
where
we
can
have
a
potential
competitive
advantage
when
it
comes
to
trying
to
recruit
folks
into
the
city
of
charleston,
and
it's
not
a
direct
monetary
benefit,
but
it's
certainly
something
that
can
get
their
attention.
B
I
think
a
lot
of
this
has
to
do
with
you
know,
being
proactive,
communicating
with
these
folks
trying
to
understand
what
they're
trying
to
do
seeing
what
we
can
do
to
help
them.
If
we
need
to
bring
something
to
council,
we
can
bring
it
to
council.
We
can
talk
about
it,
vet.
It
we're
not
talking
about
given
special
treatment
or
cutting
corners
or
doing
anything
like
that.
B
It's
more
about
just
driving
efficiencies
as
much
as
possible
to
help
people
make
things
happen,
and
if
we
can
make
it
a
very
clear
economic
win
for
the
developers,
I
think
we
can
incent
more
folks
to
sign
on
the
dotted
line
and
come
on
into
the
city
of
charleston
and
provide
all
of
these
benefits
that
councilman,
waring
and
councilman.
Shade
have
spoken
so
elegantly
about
this
afternoon.
So
so
I
think
that
this
is
a
real
opportunity
and
we
we
ought
to
be
pursuing
it.
B
So
I
see
miss
jones
is
furiously
scribbling
down
notes,
she's
gonna
be
on
it.
I've
noted
I've
noticed
of
late.
Our
our
annexation
list
is
getting
longer
and
longer.
We're
gonna
need
to
come
up
with
new
roman
numerals
at
a
certain
point
here,
but
we're
making
really
good
progress.
I
B
That
is
impressive
amy,
but
I'm.
B
We
we've
got
one
heck
of
a
cfo,
so
please
by
all
means.
I
I
C
I
So
the
barzan
property
on
john's
island-
that's
a
new
property.
So
there
isn't,
we
don't
really
know,
but
what
they
have
told
us
is
that
it
will
create
34
jobs
and
it's
expected
to
bring
the
city
around
720
dollars
over
the
20-year
term
of
the
of
the
fianlu
victor
scientific,
which
is
at
22
west
edge.
I
The
multi-county
park
impact
will
be
14,
sixty
seven
dollars
and
that's
county-wide,
so
our
city
impact
will
be
four
thousand
one
hundred
and
thirty
six
dollars
that's
a
year
annually
and
then
it's
expected
to
bring
twenty
two
thousand
seven
hundred
dollars
to
the
city
over
the
next
20
years
and
then
the
flagship
three
that's
the
new
building.
So
we
don't
really
have
any
information
on
that
either.
But
it's
expected
to
bring
the
city
2.5
almost
2.3
million
over
the
next
20
years.
I
It
is
expected
to
create
400
jobs
as
well
and
I'm
sorry,
I
didn't
tell
you
about
the
west
edge.
It's
also
they're,
expecting
it
it
will
create
133
jobs.
I
D
H
I
And
it's
expected
to
bring
about
twenty
three
thousand
dollars
to
the
city
over
the
next
twenty
years
and
then
flagship
three,
because
it's
sprint
it'll
be
a
brand
new
building.
I
don't
have
any
expected
loss
to
the
city.
It's
expected
to
bring
two
point
about
2.6
million
dollars
to
the
city
over
the
20-year
term
and
we'll
bring
in
400
jobs.

I
see
so
and
the
other
question
I
would
have
like
you
called
out
vikor.
That's
a
multi-tenant
building
the
way
these
things
work,
I'm
just

Does
it

of
the
building?
Do
you
know
I'm
just
curious.

Good
deal
thanks
again:
everybody
very
productive,
real
estate
committee,
meeting,
multi-county
industrial
parks,
marina
variety,
store
annexations,
I
mean
citadel
mall.
I
mean
we
hit
a
lot
of
bases
today,
good
meeting
everybody
and
we'll
see
everybody
here
shortly
for
public
works.
Thank
you
all
right.
