what
I'm
presenting
to
you
today
is
a
proposed
contract
for
the
purchase
of
approximately
two
acres
of
land
from
Dr
Anthony
Ross.
This
property
is
located
at
3546,
Maybank
Highway.
It
backs
up
to
the
Johns
Island
Park,
which
the
city
already
owns,
and
what
this
acquisition
would
be
used
for
would
be
to
either
expand
that
Park
as
a
location
for
the
recreation
center,
which
would
be
in
alignment
with
the
parks
department
master
plan.

Alternatively,
this
lot
does
give
us
a
nice
location.
In
the
event,
the
fire
station
on
Bohicket
can't
be
used
because
of
the
County's
Road
Project
there.
If
that
fire
station
needed
to
be
relocated.
This
would
give
us
an
X
excellent
option
for
the
relocation
of
that
fire
station.
I
did
share
the
appraisal
with
the
real
estate
committee,
as
well
as
all
the
council
members.
You
can
see
that
the
acquisition
or
the
purchase
price
is
1.15
million.

this,
the
appraisal
does
confirm
that
we
are
right
on
the
money
for
the
fair
market
value
for
this
portion
of
the
property.
We
are
currently
in
the
process
of
working
with
the
owner
to
prepare
a
subdivision
plot
which
would
show
the
exact
location
but
attached
to
the
PSA.
You
will
find
an
exhibit
that
shows
the
approximate
subdivision
of
the
slot.
The
city
already
has
an
easement
along
the
eastern
boundary
of
the
lot
to
provide
us
with
access
to
the
park.
That's
behind
it,
the
Johns
Island
Park.

we
do
have
that
easement
in
place.
There's
no
curb
at
this
location.
It
would
be
very
easy
to
put
in
any
additional
access
point
if
we,
if
we
need
to
so
that
is
all
a
bonus.
The

money
for
this
purchase
would

General

is
the
plan
right
now.
Another
great
opportunity
here
is
that
if
we
do
use
it
for
the
expansion
of
the
