Description
City of Charleston Committee on Ways and Means 1/25/22
A
A
B
A
Do
I
hear
a
motion
for
january
11
moved
and
properly
seconded
any
discussion,
not
all
in
favor
aye
eyes?
Have
it
bids
and
purchases
moved
and
properly
seconded
any
discussion
all
in
favor,
say
aye
I'd
enforce
some
water
management
approval.
Second,
any
discussion
all
in
favor
say
I
I,
the
eyes
have
it
item
five
part
capital
projects,
approval
for
and
after
the
fact
grant
four
moved
improperly
seconded
any
discussion
all
in
favor.
D
Just
on
eight,
it
doesn't
need
to
be
now,
but
at
some
point
can
we
get
an
update
on
what's
happening
at
stonyfield
seems
to
me
that
that
project
has
been
taking
a
long
time
really
long
time
and
when
you
drive
by
it's
kind
of
hard
to
tell
what's
going
on.
So
maybe
an
update
at
some
point
through
a
committee
or
here
would
be
great.
D
C
It
mayor
just
like
take
a
moment:
we
have
the
landscaping
and
parking
lot
improvement,
contract
in
place
and
underway,
and
then
there's
one
more
thing
to
do,
and
that's
there's
some
plumbing
issue
that
needs
to
be
corrected,
that
that
capital
project
will
be
putting
out
a
separate
little
item
on,
but
it'll
be
the
timeline
of
it
is
that
by
the
time
the
parking
lot
is
done.
The
plumbing
problem
will
be
addressed
as
well,
so
we're
getting
close
there's
after
that,
there's
no
more
contracts
to
come
forward.
That
I'm
aware
of
thank
you.
D
D
A
C
Councilmember,
I
believe
the
primary
structural
issue
is
earthquake
and
when
and
when
all
of
these
buildings
were
built,
of
course
they
weren't
thinking
about
earthquake
standards.
So
that's
that's
the
fundamental
door
opening
that
we
have
to
get
the
fema
grant
which
allows
us
then
to
retrofit
the
whole
station
by
matching
our
funds
with
it.
So,
as
we
just
finished
with
the
fire
station
on
cannon
street
next,
we'll
do
hugey
street
and
we're
beginning
this
application
to
do
central
station.
C
A
All
in
favor
aye
the
eyes
have
it
housing,
community
development
requests
rule
for
approval
who's
in
property.
Second,
any
discussion
on
item
10.,
if
not
all
in
favor,
say
aye
aye
the
eyes
have
it
item:
11
legal
department
approval
to
authorize
the
mayor
to
explore
for
approval,
moved
in
property
seconded
any
discussion,
all
in
favor,
say:
aye
aye
the
eyes
have
it
item
12
second,
properly
seconded
any
discussion
on
item
12.,
all
in
favor,
don't
say
I
I'm
sorry.
E
So
the
first
item
we
discussed
was
an
ordinance
to
authorize
the
mayor
to
execute
a
permanent
right-of-way
and
utility
easement.
This
involves
the
daniel
island
tennis
center
and
we're
essentially
helping
to
get
you
know
an
easement
established
in
that
location
that
passed
unanimously
in
committee.
The
next
item
was
a
request.
E
For
approval
of
a
port
facility
license
agreement
between
the
city
of
charleston
and
the
state
courts
authority
long
story
short,
the
ports
authority
is
doing
us
a
real
solid
by
allowing
our
fire
department
to
house
various
marine
firefighting
and
rescue
equipment
at
32
washington
street
in
the
ports
facility.
So
we
thank
our
partners
at
the
spa
for
that
that
also
passed
unanimously
unanimously
as
well.
E
The
third
item
that
we
discussed
was
a
essentially
a
buyback
involving
some
affordable
housing
and
miss
giannisha
johnson
explained
that
process
very
thoroughly
at
our
committee
meeting
mayor
offered
some
very
good
thoughts
as
well
on
how
we
can
improve
this
process
moving
forward
and
that
passed
unanimously
as
well
and
then,
finally,
the
mad
rush
to
district
11
continues
the
pace.
