Description
City of Charleston Committee on Ways and Means 3/14/2023
B
Thank
you,
Mr
chairman
and
I'm,
going
to
recite
the
daily
prayer
dedicated
for
March
14th.
It
is
the
prayer
of
Saint
Francis
of
Assisi
Lord
meet
me
an
instrument
of
your
piece
where
there
was
hatred.
Let
me
sow
love,
but
there
was
injury.
Let
me
so
pardon,
but
there
was
doubt
let
me
so
faith
where
there
was
despair.
Give
me
hope,
but
there
was
Darkness.
Let
me
give
light,
but
there
was
sadness.
Let
me
give
joy,
amen.
A
B
I
had
no
idea
fire
trucks
cost
nine
hundred
thousand
dollars
a
piece,
but
that's
that's
pretty
impressive.
Yeah.
B
Good
to
know,
but
anyway,
very
impressive,.
A
Item
six,
not
all
in
favor,
say
aye
the
eyes
have
it
item
seven
moved
improperly
seconded
any
discussion
on
item
seven,
if
not
all
in
favor,
say
aye
item
eight
moved
him
properly
seconded
in
India's
discussion.
All
in
favor
on
item
eight
say:
aye
the
eyes.
Have
it
item
nine
moved
in
properly
seconded
any
discussion,
if
not
all
in
favor,
say
aye
item
10.
A
A
Is
there
a
second
all
in
favor
of
taking
them
together,
say
I
I
the
eyes?
Have
it
items
10,
11,
12,
13
and
13.
A
moved
in
properly
seconded
all
in
favor,
say
aye
the
eyes
have
it
the
committee
on
real
estate,
chairman
Appel,.
C
Thank
you.
Mr
chairman,
the
City
of
Charleston
committee
on
real
estate
met
yesterday
afternoon
at
3.
30.
first
item
we
discussed
was
a
resolution
to
approve
an
amendment
to
an
agreement
for
a
joint
County
Industrial
Park.
This
is
an
agreement
between
Charleston
County,
Colleton
County
and
it
involved
businesses
that
operate
on
the
Johns
Island
airport
amongst
other
places,
and
that
was
unanimously
approved.
The
next
item
we
considered
was
an
ordinance
authorizing
the
mayor
to
execute
an
mou
with
the
Low
Country
land
trust.
C
This
is
in
connection
with
the
Angel
Oak
Park
over
on
John's
Island.
That
was
approved
unanimously
as
well
and
more
details
and
information
to
come
on
that
in
the
coming
months
and
then,
finally,
we
extended
the
review
period
regarding
the
sumar
street
project
with
Landmark
Development
LLC
for
an
additional
30
days.
A
motion
was
made
by
council
member
Shad
to
appoint
or
establish
an
ad
hoc
Committee
of
council
members
that
will
get
together
over
the
next
several
weeks
to
talk
about
the
project
and
some
ideas
regard
in
the
project
and
that
was
approved
unanimously.
C
And
then
we
had
six
annexations
on
our
agenda,
all
of
which
passed
unanimously
as
well.
Then
we
had
an
executive
session
item
to
discuss
a
right-of-way
acquisition
issue
and
we
received
legal
advice,
came
out
of
executive
session,
took
no
action
and
that
concludes
my
report
and
I
moved
that
it
be
approved
exactly.
B
Just
to
elaborate
a
little
bit
on
the
is
ad
hoc
committee,
it
would
include,
and
I've
talked
to
I
think
it's
about
everybody
who
may
be
interested
in
doing
this
council
member
Siege,
myself,
councilman,
Propel,
councilman,
we're
wearing,
and
you
Mr
chairman,
yes
and
part
of
this
discussion
will
include
I'm
looking
at
sumar
Street
and
the
feasibility
of
closing
that
and
sort
of
tying
that
into
the
project
to
see
how
we
can
address
what
is
also
going
on
in
this
particular
area
is
a
Redevelopment
of
Ashley,
Landing
and
part
of
the
plans
that
are
involved
with
Ashley
Landing
are
the
Reconstruction
of
a
brand
new,
the
Publix
at
the
lower
end
by
Charlestown
Estates,
and
some
of
the
discussions
have
been
all
the
plans.
B
A
Any
further
discussion,
if
not
all
in
favor
of
the
committee
on
real
estate
recommendations,
say
aye
the
eyes
have
it?
Is
there
anything
else
to
come
before
this
committee?
If
not
where's
your
record
right.
